We had two lovely dinners at TerraCotta Wine Bistro this week: one eating entrees, and once eating small plates. Delicious food, large wine list (both bottles and by the glass), helpful and unobtrusive service, relaxing ambience. And all of that at reasonable prices. This would be a great place for an ordinary night out, meeting with friends, or romantic evening. Definitely one of our favorite Santa Fe places.
Great spot for a get together with friends. Forgot how fabulous the food is here! And the wine list, excellent. I love restaurants that have owners that come and converse with guests. Makes one feel welcomed. That's what this restaurant is all about.
Great service. Interesting art. Fantastic live guitar. Delicious food.
Good food and you get very good size portions. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Santa Fe. Good value for food and when weather is nice good patio to sit out on.
We stumbled upon this restaurant walking back from the Georgia O'Keefe Museum and decided to try it for dinner. It has a nice quiet atmosphere and the waitress was excellent. There is an extensive wine list that includes reasonably priced wines. We had the best appetizer cheese plate. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed it so much we went back a second time during our one week stay in Santa Fe. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant!
Delicious salads and interesting wine list. Were with kids so wished faster service
Perfect early, light meal for us, following a visit to the Georgia O'Keefe Museum. Worked out well to get a glass or two of wine on their $6 before 6PM offering. When my wine selection wasn't on the special list (must be a glass price $11 or less), our server made a good substitution recommendation off the special list. Indeed, it was a good wine. We had lighter fare of onion soup, a house salad, bruschetta (pick 4 different kinds for $16) and a great beet and orange salad. A nearby table was celebrating a family birthday (for adults), while another table had a family dining. So we felt this place worked well for a number of occasions/groups.
Nice, large selection of wines by the glass. Very good food and service. Will happily go back again. The one major issue is extremely limited parking. The restaurant has only a very few designated spaces, no handicapped space, and no other publicly available space within a block or more.
This is a very elegant, quiet bistro. The wine selection was amazing. We enjoyed the guitar player. The dishes I saw begin delivered to other tables looked outstanding.
The reason for the low rating of our meal is because we ordered a meat and cheese board and the cheeses all felt like they had just come out of the refrigerator. Because of this they had very little flavor.
I would eat here again
We had made a reservation for 8 but received a text from 2 of our friends who were not able to make it. The servers were wonderful and understanding. They quickly removed 2 place settings so that we would have more room at the table. We ordered the bruschetta and olives to share. My husband and I both ordered the house salad, spinach lasagna, and the bananas foster bread pudding. Our friends had the oysters rockefeller, the salmon, the schnitzel, and the chicken salad. We all shared 2 bottles of the Landmark pinot noir. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list. There was a wonderful acoustic guitar player, as well. Everything was outstanding!
Had a marvelous time, great service, delicious food and a very freindly, relaxed fellow diners. Will happily return very soon.
We are in Santa Fe celebrating a milestone birthday for a family member and Terra Cotta was so kind and accommodating. The food was lovely and the staff were all great.
There is no parking at the restaurant. We finally found street parking and arrived on time. We had requested patio seating as recommended on the Bring Fido app.
This restaurant does not have a heated patio for patrons with dogs. It apparently has a patio open in the summer. The hostess was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. A smile and explanation could have worked.
We've only recently discovered Terra Cotta, and it already has moved to the top of our go-to list!
Service is excellent, wine list extensive, and the food is fabulous, with generous portions.
Thanks for a wonderful evening and I will return. Curtis
My salmon was cooked well done. Not how salmon should be cooked unless asked for it that way. The crab cakes were very good. Wine list was great. They accept reservations to sit at the bar if dining room is full. We sat at the bar which was fine but the server was unfriendly and not pleasant.
My husband and I visit Terracotta Wine Bistro quite often. It's our "Go To" spot for lunch. The food is always excellent!
Friendly casual atmosphere. Good food. Nice wine- a great deal at happy hour.
Restaurant Week. We enjoyed the live music and charming ambiance of the bar. The host was quick to greet us and our server, Emily was pleasant, attentive and made excellent recommendations.
Went for restaurant week and it was such a great price for the meal and the experience! The chef came out and was so friendly and even topped off the bacon on my husband’s broccoli cheese soup—yum!
Food was delicious. However, we waited over 30 minutes to get our food after we finished our appetizer. Waitress never checked on us during that time.
This place is great! Intimate and delicious dining....outstanding service that is attentive yet not overbearing. A hidden gem off the plaza!
Excellent food. The wait person disappeared for a while when I needed more water, but she finally came back and filled up the glass. Schnitzel plate was fantastic! Filled Begnets were mixed. One was excellent, one was too dried out, and one was half excellent, have hard. Still tasted great. Excellent value. Biggest problem that prevents 5 stars is that the parking is terrible. Mostly reserved lots and no-parking streets in this downtown area. Spent 15 minutes looking for parking!
Great service, food was excellent
Our first visit and it was great! Very comfortable, cozy, romantic. We’ll be back
The quinoa stuffed bell pepper featured broccoli and cauliflower: delicious. The cinnamon ice cream is a special treat.
We were looking for a full dinner menu at 4 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon and found this place on Open Table. Small and quiet which was perfect and with a full menu including starters and a range of entrees. Lots of excellent choices for wine by the glass. We had the french onion soup, casa salad, and shared the beef tenderloin. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous, so we did not go away hungry. Limited parking but we did not mind walking a couple of blocks.
We can always count on Catherine and her staff to provide an enjoyable visit. The food is perfectly prepared and the service is attentive.
Great wine list and food! The waiter was helpful in suggesting wines.
Enjoyed it so much I just made a reservation for 10 folks for a Friday night!
We try to eat here every visit to Santa Fe. Good food, good service, and outstanding wine list!
Delicious dinner with wonderful service We highly recommend this bistro.
Always love the food, people and atmosphere. A Santa Fe gem
We love the diverse menu, good wine selection (and great happy hour), and especially the friendly wait staff. There are still menu items we are looking forward to trying...
Stopped off on our way to Taos because we were STARVING and wanted something that was different. We were glad we did.
We were greeted by our server and host at the front door. Smiles and good attitudes all around. We were seated in a tight little corner booth, cozy but a bit tight. Nonetheless it worked just fine.
Ordered off the prix fixe menu - I had the Shepherd's Pie and my wife the Pork Schnitzel. I started with a soup - cheese/broccoli and my wife the salad. Both were very tasty and just the right amount. I'm not a fan of huge appetizer/starter portions. The mains were HUGE and so very tasty. Couldn't finish either but not because of taste, just quantity. I completed my meal with the trio of beignets and my wife the apple tart. Again, definitely up to snuff.
Our server was very attentive and plates were cleared quickly and efficiently. Banter was on the light side. We left very sated and with a plan to come back for more. The only reason for the deduction of one star was that I expect a particular level of expertise and presentation. While the food was very good it still needed a little push to the next level. So don't let this review prevent you from trying what is a very good little restaurant. We'll definitely return.
An amazing menu to trigger and delight your senses!
There are many dining choices in Santa Fe, but you have to try Terra Cotta Wine Bistro.
They will give you an amazing dining experience
Terra-cotta is one of our go-to places in Santa Fe. It is small and friendly--not fancy, yet sophisticated. It's a nice change from the many New Mexican places in Santa Fe. The food is freshly prepared and is usually excellent, with nice vegetable sides and lovely salads. The planked salmon is particularly good. There have been disappointments from time to time, particularly in Italian dishes which my husband has ordered, which tend not to be flavored correctly.
We were visiting from out of town and ended up dining twice because our 1st experience was so great!
Been there many times, and always great food and service.
