TerraCotta Wine Bistro
Our varied menu features both large and smaller portions of daily entrees that encourage guests to sample and share a number of dishes.
TerraCotta Happy Hour continues all day long, with over 60 wine by the glass options available for $6 every day until 6pm.
The waiter didn’t give us the special menu for the night. Service was inattentive despite our early reservation. Despite the wait staff knowing we had a show to go to, they delayed the last course so long we had to have them box it up instead of plating it.
A special occasion spoiled.
This restaurant is among the best places to go for lunch in Santa Fe. It has an extensive menu of good food. It is quiet and charming. Great wine list with reasonable prices for by-the-glass. Check out the parking spaces in the lot across the street.
Meal was delish! We started with the bruschetta 4, with the brie, artichoke, mozzarella, and ahi tuna. For the main course, I had the crab cakes that were huge and very good. My wife had the Branzino fillet which she also enjoyed. The restaurant was small and as a result, you could carry on a quiet conversation easily. It wasn't inexpensive, but we were celebrating our 37th anniversary, so it was a special occasion. We will be back!
Wow. Lovely space, attentive service, and delicious food. My husband and I went for a quiet, romantic meal and were very happy.
I have been here twice. Although expensive, I believe the wonderful staff and ambiance of the restaurant make it a cozy and valuable experience. We will be back again during the next special occasion.
Early Valentine’s Day
We enjoyed a really lovely dinner here. The food was amazing, service was great, there were so many other things we want to try. We'll be back on our next trip to Santa Fe!
Fantastic place....most definitely our favorite restaurant in Santa Fe
Great food as always. Service was very good and the prices are a little on the high side
We love this place and visit most Saturday afternoons
The food was good, but it did take a longer than necessary time to produce 2 salads and 1 grilled sandwich, I thought (15 minutes from time of placing the order). Important to tell the server you are on a limited time lunch if timing is important to you.
Brussels sprouts caesar was tasteless, French onion soup cold.
Excellent service in a cozy space. Low noise level. food very good with a wide variety on the menu. would definitely return. Good deal on wine by the glass. Have only had lunch here. Never had dinner.
We never miss the chance to visit when we are in Santa Fe. Always friendly staff, great food and service, cozy and inviting ambience.
This was our first time at this place. Really enjoyed. Food was very good. Staff was exceptional. However, with wine and dinner (prix fixee), the total was a bit stiff. Still, we plan to go again.
Amazing. Love this place
The food is great!!! The place is very cozy and service was excellent!!!
Great food and great atmosphere! The duck confit from the Prix-Fixe menu was excellent and the sweet potato soup appetizer was superb. The warm apple tart and cinnamon ice cream was a nice finish to a great meal. The atmosphere is quiet and homey and they also had live music with a man playing guitar lightly in the background. We would eat here again which is the best review we could give any restaurant.
Food was only fair. The Brussel sprout Caesar salad didn’t have much flavor, the dressing and croutons appeared store bought. The fried chicken was cooked well, but the breading was tasted like sugar had been added. Service was attentive, but not friendly. The ambiance was rather loud and the tables are crowded in a small space, so conversations are easily overheard. It’s probably a good place for a glass of wine and a shared appetizer, perhaps at the bar, but I didn’t feel it was a good value for the dinner experience.
Great waitstaff! Food was awesome. Love the entire experience!
My wife and I love this place. The food is always excellent and the staff is knowledgeable.
This was the 2nd year in a row eating as this amazing restaurant visiting from out of town. We love it. The owner and staff were wonderful!
Have been here twice now. Once in warm weather for the outside front porch seating and in the winter for the inside cozy back room tables. This last visit was during the week between Christmas and New Years with the crowds in town. Despite a full room, the noise level was quite modest and conversation was easy. Lovely, service by staff and owner/manager.
Wonderful dinner. We are here for Christmas Eve dinner and were so pleasantly surprised. Service and food are stellar.
We had a great date here on Christmas Eve. The best thing was it wasn’t outrageously priced because of the holiday. Great wine happy hour!
Food was very good. Friendly servers. We plan to come back during warmer weather because they have a nice outdoor area.
One of my favorites in Santa Fe.
Nice addition to the Santa Fe restaurant scene. Just what the name implies - good wine, creative bistro food. Parking is difficult.
Emily never fails us! Fantastic wine and great food too!
We like the variety of entrees and salads The prix fixe dinner is a great deal. We always feel we are treated like old friends.
We had dinner here in December to celebrate our anniversary. I had scoured the web to find the right place with the right menu for what we were looking for, so TerraCotta was the place. It's a cute restaurant that's on a quiet street. The service was good, and so was much of the food.
We ordered the bruschetta (choice of 4) to start, which at $16 was more than it should have been. They were surprisingly bland, despite having really interesting topping choices. I think much of this had to do with boring bread that was under-toasted and a lack of seasoning. Aside from that, we really enjoyed everything else. We had the onion soup (amazing), mussels, salmon, and an apple tarte dessert that was all great. The wine menu was pretty good and we enjoyed what we ordered.
Celebrated a big birthday here and the service and dining experience did not disappoint anyone! The menu offered lots of nice options for everyone and the service was terrific. We had not been here before, but will definitely dine here again.
Great wine selection, and amazing service. Thanks to the entire team for a special night out.
We were visiting Santa Fe for our 30th anniversary and wanted to find a special restaurant. From past experience in Santa Fe, high end places can be very expensive, and price doesn’t always equate to quality. In fact, some can be downright snooty. Not true at all with Terra Cotta. This is a special place. Gentle acoustic guitar, a cozy atmosphere, and obvious culinary skill made it a perfect choice for a romantic and delicious experience. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer, shrimp and grits, butternut squash polenta, olive oil carrot cake, and dark chocolate mousse. Each dish surprised us with depth of flavor and creative combinations. It was multi-sensory; they looked, smelled, and tasted wonderful. We make it a habit to seek out great dining experiences, and this will be one we remember.
The only thing that could have been better was a bit more enthusiasm from the wait staff...we wished their approach matched the friendly energy of the obvious care that was put into each dish.
The food was very good but Service was spotty, detracting from the overall experience.
Expansive wine selection by the glass. Both our main courses sounded better than they tasted. Very good key lime pie for dessert. Would not return but am not sorry we tried it once.
Quaint small wine bar with a small but good food menu. More wines by the glass than we’ve seen elsewhere
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. Have never had a bad meal or experience here.
We went for Thanksgiving dinner to try their deep fried Turkey. Not my favorite. We'd been there before for excellent meals and ambiance. The wine list is extensive and it is divided by price. e.g $20; $30 and $40 wines by the bottle. Very clever. Great for anniversaries and other special occasions.
We did their Thanksgiving dinner which may not have been their normal . Dinner was awful. We
Had the prime rib which was not prime rib. Tough and hard to cut. Service was marginal. Not up to Santa Fe standards.
Thanksgiving was the first time we ate at Terra Cotta. The great reviews sold us on giving it a try. Perhaps the holiday menu took them off their game. Our reservations were at 6 and they were already out of the butter nut squash soup we ordered. Instead of telling us, a brussel spout soup was delivered and it was barely warm. The vegetables that came with the turkey were over done and buried under the meat. The gravy was weak and tasteless. The wine paired with the courses was the smallest portion we’ve had served anywhere—2-3oz. The apple tart “ala mode” was cold and the crust couldn’t be cut with a fork. The best thing was the friendly service. For that we give the restaurant better marks than we would otherwise.
