Terracotta Red
Our cooking style centers on traditional Asian dishes created with "fresh ingredients from local farmers and suppliers". Our executive chef, Jimmy Liang, is classically trained in the European style and has worked at many of the most prestigious restaurants in the area including the Herb Farm. We pride ourselves on creating distinctive dishes utilizing multiple layers of cooking techniques and flavors. We call it "Modern Asian Cooking".
A heartfelt "thank you" goes out to family, friends and community members who continue to embrace us.
Your hosts, The Ma family & Chef Jimmy
I would love to review this restaurant well, but we didn't get to eat there on this occasion.
On Sunday night I had a craving for dan dan noodles, and the wife and I decided Terracotta Red would be the closest place to get some. I jumped on my phone and made a reservation for an hour or so later. In fairness, I forgot that the reservation would need to be confirmed, but as it turns out, it wouldn't have mattered...my reservation for Saturday night was confirmed today...which is Wednesday. Not terribly helpful.
We arrived at the restaurant at our chosen time, and were told that they had no reservation for us. Once they found it, they said it had "just come in," and that they confirm all their reservations earlier in the day. No idea what they define as earlier. The hostess wasn't even nice about it.
Facing down at least another half hour of waiting, we decided to go elsewhere.
Today I got the reservation confirmation, so maybe they were trying to clear out their queue? Not sure why they bother with this service if they're not going to use it.
Long story short, I'm sure we'll be back at some point, but since I rarely know what I want to eat tomorrow night and Terracotta Red can't be bothered with same-day reservations, it'll be a while.
Our favorite spot in Everett. Consistent good food every single time.
Christine is amazing! Made the experience very special. Food was great.
Always great food and services. We love the Mongolian beef, but tried the drunken chicken as well. Large portions and good food!
New place to try
Everything was excellent! It was packed the night we were there but then it was a Sat evening. I’m so glad I made reservations.
We always appreciate eating at Terra Cotta Red! Always wonderful food and service.
Terracotta Red has some of the best food around. I do suggest having reservations as it is a busy.
The food and service were exceptional, definitely worth the $$. However, the acoustics in the restaurant are terrible. The only reason we wouldn’t recommend you to a friend is the noise from the bar made me almost leave. We love the food and can see the potential of the restaurant being a great place for a lovely evening out. Thanks and hope this helps.
Have been here many times and had great food and great service. But the Valentines evening dinner was not good at all. Beef was tough and flavorless, and rice was not completely cooked. Evening music took three breaks during a 1 hr dinner. Service did the best they could and where attentive. I would go back but never on a set menu evening.
I would most definitely recommend but maybe not use Open Table for reservation. For the second time now they did not have my reservation made on Open Table. Luckily they found a way to squeeze us in a table on a busy Saturday night.
We ordered everything Gluten free and the food was fantastic! It is great to find Asian food that caters to the gluten free crowd and does it well. However the service was very slow and our server was very short with us. They were busy but we waited for almost 30 minutes before being able to order food - the first 10 we waited for menus. Drinks also took a very long time to arrive after we ordered them. The only other comment is that it was very noisy. People weren't talking overly loud, but the acoustics are not great as everything is a hard surface and the sound just echos.
Interesting take on Asian cuisine with lots of veggies, spices and great soups and Pad Thai. Flavored flank steak dishes were delicious even though the meat was somewhat tough. Good place for a table full of friends.
Great food and service, just a bit too loud. We fekt like we were having to talk above all the noise.
Fabulous food..great service..just a bit noisy but who cares!!! I’ll be back:)
Our food was interesting, but not particularly tasty. Good presentation, but rather bland. Portions were quite large, and we easily could have split our meals. I would try it again in several months to see if they have tweaked their tastes.
Excellent food, service was ok, they seemed short staffed...but apparently got all the folks their food. Reasonably priced, tasty food.
We went for the first time and wife’s birthday. Was a little disappointed that we were sat in the bar having booked way in advance. The drinks were perfect though and the portion size are huge! Can easily share! Food tasted amazing. We will now be regulars!
Nice asian fusion in downtown everett. Close to village theater
Love the food, love the food love the food!! The noise level is a bit high for conversation, could use a little sound dampening on the walls, but we love eating there. Great food, especially the Drunken Chicken and the Mongolian Beef.
Love the menu options, and delicious food, but always so loud that it is hard to have a conversation with more than a couple of people at the table. Great for 2-4 people, as long as they are not hard of hearing. Lunch is usually not as loud, and still great menu and food.
Very good food. Loved all the gluten free options only knock was the amount of time it took the server to process our check. We waited 10 minutes while she delivered two rounds of drinks to a table. It was a minor thing but we had somewhere to be and watching her do other stuff rather than “be right back” was annoying.
This was my first visit, but I'd been wanting to check it out for some time. We had a small group, ordered drinks/appetizers/dishes. We tried a couple of the signature cocktails, the calamari and the Indonesian Corn Fritters. For our main dishes we tried: Mongolian Beef, Drunken Chicken, and the Lohan Delight noodles. Everything was delicious and large enough portions to take home a meal. The service was friendly, quick, and attentive. I will definitely dine here again and recommend it to others.
Great food!
Great dinner and ambiance
The food we ordered was delicious. Our favorites was the calamari appetizer.
Food & service were great. Staff attention was just right.
This was a first time meeting for spouses. Overall a great place to eat and have a conversation. The only reason for a 4 in atmosphere is it is just a tad bit loud. Great food and excellent service.
I visit the Everette area 2-4 times per year for over 8 years and we often go to Terra Cotta Red--mostly for dinner. This time the waitress that took care of us was so hyper we had to ask her to calm down. There was a larger party celebrating the Holidays but otherwise the restaurant was not that full. Her 'activity level' really detracted from the overall experience. Having said that, the food and drink was as good as always which makes us compelled to keep returning.
Way too loud to talk to anyone. Staff was lovely but not enough of them. Food was really good but the experience was not something I would choose to repeat.
Great menu with plenty of selections . I thought the prices were a good value for the quality . Nice servers
Celebrated a 60th Birthday. Love the food and service.
Terracotta Red is an Everett must-do with excellent asian fusion dishes and traditional teas.
Came in for our reservation and was seated immediately. Server came promptly and was friendly.
We ordered an appetizer and entrees when we received our drinks, and the appetizer came first. The appetizer plate had been empty for over 20 minutes when I asked the server when we should expect our entrees; she assured me they were on the way, and then brusquely mentioned that she had put a rush on them as they were going to need our table free within 30 minutes because it was reserved for a large party. She also explained the delay by mentioning that our meals were held due to the fact that an appetizer was ordered (a single order of potstickers).
It took almost an hour to get our entrees from the time they were ordered, and when they finally arrived we had to rush because we felt like we were going to get kicked out for their large party, and we were already late for an event. We were in there for almost 90 minutes and received our entrees at minute 75. Food was good, service was unacceptable.
Everything here is so, so good! And the prices are really reasonable.
It had been quite awhile since we had been to Terra Cotta Red but wanted to take my sister for her birthday to a restaurant we really like. She was happy with all the Gluten-Free choices, our service was good and the food scrumptious. We all left with take-out boxes which became the next day's great afternoon snack. The noise level was very high which is why we don't go out to eat very often. It was difficult to hear each other. The quality of the food that we ordered took the edge off the noise and my sister will be recommending Terra Cotta Red to her friends.
Friendly staff and great food! Was busy but we didn’t have to wait too long for our food!
This place was great except for the noise. They should put more hangings on the walls to reduce the loud noise of everyone talking. Otherwise, it is a great place to eat!
I've been driving by for years thinking about trying and finally did. Wish I had done so a long time ago. Great food!
Try the pork - best I've ever had! we went for my husbands birthday :)
