Terrace Room at The Harbor Grand Ratings and Reviews
We love this place. Great food, beautiful dining room, and friendly service. The house salad is creatively prepared with hazelnuts, fennel, arugula, lemon, and Parmesan. Yum. The Pappardelle Bolognese is always spot on. A must have! We also got the bone in ribeye which was grilled perfectly.
This is a special place. It has so many good menu choices yet it is a limited menu ! There is something for everyone. Pasta dishes are a very good choice although every menu item is one you can’t go wrong with! Wait staff is very professional! In the warm weather the outside seating is a good choice!
My husband and I celebrated our 20th Annivesary at the Terrace Room. We had Danielle as our server and they clearly check their reservation notes, because she and the manager both made our night very special. We started with cocktails and then shared a bottle of wine with our meals. It was incredibly relaxing, we were not rushed. We had the Seafood Cioppino and theBistecca alla Griglia. The Bistecca is a 20oz RR signature strip was amazing, month watering and I can’t wait to go back and order it again. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Thank you for memorable night. We shared a bottle of Powers Merlot, delicious and not expensive.
My family and I absolutely love the food.
It is , however, extremely loud ALL the time.
The restaurant has a nice fireplace but as a result the room temperature is WAY to warm. Management could turn the flame down without sacrificing ambiance - ALWAYS too warm.
Phenominal kitchen !
This was a fabulous restaurant that we never would have found without Open Table. We sat outside, the ambiance was perfect. The food was delicious and reasonable. The staff were very attentive. This restaurant is right on the water so the scenery was just perfect. Perfect experience for a Sunday...
We went to celebrate our anniversary with friends of ours who are also celebrating their anniversary / what a pleasant surprise define this romantic hotel in the middle of the new Buffalo Michigan I would definitely go back there for drinks and appetizers with girlfriends
Had a wonderful waiter /there was a bit of confusion on an order for wine but our wonderful waiter took care of it immediately
Our first time here, great team with Craig, Dana, and Brandi behind the bar. The food is Italian in theme and done very well. Try the Asiago Cheese app it is very good. We both enjoyed our dinner and went back the next morning for breakfast as well. The bellini cocktail is done with strawberries and lavender instead of peach, tasted great.Highly recommend this location for water views, cool seating and atmosphere, and a very courteous and friendly team.
Started out bad. Hostess decided to put us outside and we did not ask for that. 50mins later we finally got a the table we had booked. The server was extremely good and then gave us a drink and appetizer for the wait and misunderstanding.
The meal was very good and I would definitely recommend this restaurant but book in advance on a Saturday.
A couple of glitches this visit....very busy Saturday night. We had reservation but could not be seated outside as requested so we took an inside table. Server was prompt, took our drink order and returned with a mojito was made with mint infused syrup vs fresh mint that was mixed with tonic vs club soda and tasted nasty bitter. The Journeyman Rye Manhattan arrived on the rocks, taken back, poured into a shaker and came out dilute/shorted in glass. Waiter said he would top it off and I said, no, let's start over and have the bartender make it properly. About 20 minutes later our new drinks arrived which were both delicious. Now, they were proactive and without asking comped our drinks so that demonstrated nice customer service but maybe the bar is too understaffed on weekends as the waiter said they were very busy?? The jazz music piped inside was RIDICULOUSLY loud...and I don't mind loud music. Half way through dinner we requested it be turned down some and were accomodated so that made for a better last half of our dining experience.
The food was delicious and well plated. Never have had a bad appetizer or entree here and have had many different entrees so always feel like the chef/kitchen are totally committed to serving wonderful food to their guest The server continued to be professional and gracious.
One observation is I did not see a house manager roving, checking on guests, checking noise levels/ambiance, etc. A good manager usually is able to assure the environment met their standards and apologize in person for any need of service recovery. You may want to think about this some. :)
We had a great time overall at the Terrace Room. The staff was generally fantastic. The one exception was that there was lack of knowledge about what wines they were out of and delay in getting wine to us during our meal. This was around the time of dinner rush and server should have asked manager for help. Otherwise fantastic experience, great ambiance, great cocktails.
We recently moved to Chicago from Connecticut and heard New Buffalo was a great place to get away for Labor Day weekend. Having never been to New Buffalo, we did not know what to expect...the restaurant looks very unassuming from the outside. However, once inside, we were blown away! The atmosphere was fantastic and the decor was so chic. We enjoyed a nice pre-dinner cocktail by the fire and a delicious, late dinner in the dining room. The service was great and the food was delicious!
We really enjoyed ourselves. We dined here originally because of the outdoor seating. It did not disappoint. The patio is lovely with a fireplace, many umbrellas and there were no bugs. Dinner was delicious also. The bruschetta was exceptional. My husband said the bolognese was one of the best he's had.
The Terrace Room provides elegant dining in a casual setting. The cuisine is rustic Italian and the food was superb. The brussel sprouts appetizer was especially delicious. My entree was a homemade pasta in Bolognese sauce. Delicious! My wife enjoyed a wonderful ravioli that was to die for! Our waiter was courteous and very helpful during the meal selection process. There was a range of prices that would satisfy any pocketbook. I highly recommend eating on the outdoor terrace, weather permitting.
A wonderful dining experience and highly recommended if you are in New Buffalo, MI.
The server was great. No complaints there. Started with cocktails and Scampi al Forno. The shrimp was way overcooked and rubbery, the sauce was bland and tasteless. I normally love shrimp and I couldn't finish this appetizer. We then both had a Caesar salad which consisted of 4 or 5 whole romaine leaves with barely any dressing and a couple very small croutons. We had to ask for more dressing and for the price of $8 each I was extremely disappointed. My husband ordered beef tenderloin and said it was very good. But the lemon flavored mashed potatoes it was served on was a very odd choice to pair with a fine steak. I had the Ravioli Bandera which was room temperature when it was served to me. It was only 6 but I didn't even finish because it got cold so fast. The bread served was good. And my husband had tiramisu which he said was delicious. The drinks were good and expensive. For a very mediocre dinner it was $200.
