Terra Terroir Ratings and Reviews
Lovely restaurant. Went on a Thursday night at 7 pm. Was crowded and noisy with a lot of large group parties with children so opted to sit near bar next to patio area. Food was excellent. Had the brussel sprouts and bourbon shrimp. Delicious! I would definitely go back and try for a less crowded night after the holidays.
I was surprised how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday night, but with good food and a good atmosphere I guess I shouldn't have been. We sat on the patio which is lovely, and with the heaters it was perfect despite being a chilly evening. The food was delicious, the flatbread appetizer was perfect for sharing and the lamb and steak were cooked to perfection. The service was slow at times but since we had nowhere else to go it was fine.
We celebrated an early birthday for my wife here, and we are glad we did.
Sam was our waiter, and as always he did a wonderful job. Attentive service, without being overly intrusive. Good explanation of a wine he substituted a recommendation for at the Petit Sirah I wanted was no longer available.
Food was very good and the roasted Brussel sprouts are to die for. ... and the entire evening was a success.
Despite being a quiet night (Halloween) they could not get our meals quite right
2 of our group of 5 had to send back their steaks - not done to order. They were replaced,
but it meant eating later after the rest of the group had finished
The rest of us had very good food
The crab cakes were a little pricey @ $35
Graciously offered a dessert to compensate, however, it would have been better to get it right from the start
This is our 1st not so good experience, so we are willing to come back & give Terra another try
My dinner was outstanding. Maybe the best sea bass I have ever had. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and I loved having farro as a side dish. The service however was not good. We waited a very long time to get our drinks and to order. You could never find someone when you needed them. I had been told in advance that the service was very slow and it was.
Love this restaurant. The only issue I have, as with many restaurants, is the high cost of a dinner out. There are some good entrees here for $24 but add to that an appetizer and drinks or wine, tax, and tip and you can't get out for less than $50-60 per person.
Always enjoy my experience at Terra. Make sure you take time to visit the bar and enjoy a drink before or after your meal. Their Brussel sprout appetizer is great. I had the fish special and was not disappointed. Always fun to interact with the kitchen staff.
Enjoyed our meal but would have ordered a very appealing preparation if the only pasta offered weren't gluten free. Why not have 2 options of pasta?
Also, don't know if wine list is a "bait and switch " effort. I ordered a $40 bottle of wine and was told they didn't have it so offered me another for $2 more. Frankly, by giving us the bottle at the same price it would have gone a long way in my impression. For just $2 it was the principle of the thing.
Enjoyed what we ordered. Dessert piece of cake slice was overwhelming even for two.
Lastly, a diner was speakly loudly on a cell phone and should have been asked to take the call upfront in the bar or outside.
