Terra Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It wasn't my first time in Terra, but it was a couple of years since I dined here last.
The service was as excellent as previous times, however, the food was very mediocre this time.
The lobster tail was not warm & juicy and seemed like it was prepared prior to ordering. The tenderloin only looked like a piece of tenderloin but tasted like flank steak.
Wasn't very pleased with quality of the Brunello either.
We didn't want to flavour our evening with sharing this with our server.
Nonetheless, we have had excellent previous experiences with Terra and we know that they can undoubtedly impress the customers.
The place was chaos from the start. Although the reservation was for 5:30, it was as though we had arrived late and we were being punished by being placed in such cramped quarters that dining was uncomfortable.
Noise levels were so high my date had to shout to be heard. I ordered flowers from Bloomex - big mistake. It was a referral from Terra Restaurant so I didn’t expect such poor service. Flowers arrived in an orange plastic bag an hour late without any greenery for presentation.
By this point we figured everything was ok until the waiter knocked our wine bottle over and it dropped to the floor, spilling most of the contents. They replaced the half-bottle with another at mo charge but the damage was done.
When they brought the food, we were once again disappointed to see shriveled vegetables and the tiniest lobster tail I have ever seen. Dried out and tasteless. For the price of the surf and turf, I was shocked.
By the time we left, the place was so crowded and noisy, it was a relief to leave. Needless to say, we are never, ever returning. My tip reflected my displeasure.
Celebrated a birthday here on a Saturday night. Valet parking available. Coat check offered upon arrival. Food was very good but on the pricey side which was ok because we expected it. I had the lamb chops ($59) and they were amazing. Also had a side of the gnocchi based on positive reviews. Oh. My. Gosh. It was amazing. Best dish of the night. We brought a bottle champagne to which a $39 corkage fee applies which I thought was excessive. Service was good. Our glasses were constantly being refilled. Overall we had a great meal and really enjoyed everything. I’ll be back but only for a special occasion based on price.
Al the staff Servers are always so warm and welcoming. It was a busy night but service was impeccable. They have a great private room to host a small group of 10 and can probably fit up to 16 .... so fantastic! Better than hosting at home! Will definitely think of doing that again!!
The food is good but some of the meat in the appetizer was touch. I wasn't very hungry so asked to take my meal home. They forgot to do this. I also didn't appreciate, nor did my business colleague, having the waitress state she would call her "minions to clean up." Very poor taste.
However, I did appreciate the Valet service on a very cold day.
While I appreciated the fine dining service for my client dinner, I found the pricing to be astronomical for what you are actually getting. The appetiser tray was a miss, and the butternut squash ravioli I had as my main was far too al dente and lacked any flavor what so ever. The decor is tacky and outdated for a restaurant I thought was going to modern and chic. Would not attend this restaurant again.
As usual, Terra didn’t disappoint us! Took our friends there for their first time in this restaurant , and everyone had a great meal. Food was delicious and service impeccable! So happy to have such a quality restaurant in this area. And my favorite part of this restaurant is that it’s consistently great. One can count on it. We have been there numerous times and always been satisfied. Doesn’t matter what you order, everything is good and cooked to perfection. We don’t mind paying a little higher price, knowing that we get the quality of food and great service. Still my favorite restaurant in GTA
Amazing service with great attention to detail - we were seated right away (made reservations), they offered to give us a better table granted we returned it by a certain time so I was happy they gave us that option as it made for a much better experience. The food in general was goood, one of the better lobster bisques I've had. The only critique would be the lobster tail - it wasn't that fresh so the meat was quite soggy. 2nd main was good tho (brazing). Overall a great find north of the city, we already made a reservation for Christmas :)
Food is above average. Good Choice of wine, except the price is too high.
Service is okay until they turned off half of night around 9:30 to hint people to leave .
Spent $700 for 3 people and we should be treated better.
For this money, I will not go back again.
Our family had a dinner on a Sunday night. I would agree with other reviews that food is overpriced and service is very slow. We had to wait for 1.5 hours to get our entrees. No one apologised for the wait or explained what was going on or thanked for the patience. Waitress just kept on repeating that food is coming soon.. For appetizers we ordered Caesar salad, octopus and quail. Octopus and quail were tasty but the salad was bad - soggy and overdressed. For the main we had steaks and seafood pasta. Steaks were Ok, but pasta...for $40 bucks you get a plate of spaghetti with 3 shrimps and half of a lobster tail. No crab meat, no mussels as described in menu. They don't even grate real cheese! The waitress was busy with other customers and did not came to ask if we are enjoying our meals. At that point we were so disappointed that we just wanted to finish whatever we were served and to leave the place.
Buy the way bill was $420.0 for 4 of us.
I don't usually file the complains but this experience was really disappointing.
I attached 2 photos of the seafood pasta: what you expect and what you actually get.
