Terra Plata

We learned 1.5 hours isn't enough time, but I totally understand restaurants need to set a timeline. Due to the timeline, it felt like they avoided anything that might add time: One of our party finished their cocktail prior to entrees but was never asked if she wanted another drink; we weren't asked if we wanted dessert, even though I told the restaurant it was a birthday dinner celebration (and we were at our time limit before entrees were even cleared). Our waiter was attentive, friendly, calm and patient, but watching all the staff in action they seemed overwhelmed. My guess is the timeline is tough on them, too, as they were go-go-go working their tails off--or maybe understaffed? Either way, the above misses were no fault of the staff. Food really varied: Some was good (arugula salad, brussel sprouts), some ok (burger), and some not good (beef brisket was gross--smothered in BBQ sauce, super tough, bland potatoes--and the steak sandwich had a tendon throughout so partially inedible, but the non-tendon parts were good)). Prices vary from good (burger, wine) to overpriced (brisket), though overpriced items could've been shared (e.g., $16 arugula salad), which would've been good to know. Their COVID set up, however, is fantastic: Very safe (no walls so there's airflow; plastic partitions between tables; distancing), comfortable (heaters above each table, big roof so you're not hit by rain, high walls so wind isn't too bad), and great ambiance with lighting and plants. It was too bad we had so little time as we would've liked to stay for another drink and dessert. I'd go back because their COVID setup is awesome, but I'll order differently next time.

Food was lovely and the atmosphere was great but the service was absolutely terrible. Won’t be returning or recommending this spot to others.

Great outdoor dining spot for drinks! Such a nice rooftop with heaters, a fire table, and string lights for a nice vibe. Good drinks and small plates for a pre dinner date spot.

Great service on their deck to celebrate a birthday! They even wrote my date's name and birthday message on the menu. :) Really went above and beyond, and I hope to go back soon!

The food was great; the service was great! I don’t know how we had yet to discover this cap hill gem with the perfect rooftop ambiance! In a time where dining options are very limited due to covid, Terra Plata met all our expectations and more! Highly recommend for your next date night or happy hour with friends! We will surely be back!

The outdoor seating is fantastic! The only issue in the beginning was that I had reserved a table at 7:30 and wasn’t seated until 8. However, we ended up getting an amazing table so we didn’t mind having to wait. The food was great, the tables were nicely spaced, and there were plenty of heaters. I had a wonderful experience.

A festive atmosphere given the rooftop dining experience. Food excellent and helpful recommendations from our server. Looking forward to returning.

The reservations were made for my bestfriends 30th birthday! The food and drink was great but a little pricey for the portions. Also, even with the heaters the outdoor dining area was still very chilly!

Ate on the ground floor despite making a reservation for the rooftop deck (not a big deal, they asked if we minded). Shared a starter and two mains in our party of 2. Plenty of food. Very good service, attentive but not overbearing. Staff volunteered and provided a space heater since we were seated right next to the sidewalk (not exactly outside, but not really inside either). My first time dining here, although I've had takeout several times since the pandemic. Very good quality and a nice experience.

Wonderful food. Had heard about this place for years and finally went the other week with my wife for her bday dinner. It was as good as people had always told me and I look forward to going there again. Just delicious.

Amazing ambience, especially in our COVID restricted world - safe, warm, and cozy. Food was good, but very expensive (the brussels sprouts were the one thing I would say was definitely worth it).

We were very excited to find a place we could dine outside in the middle of the Seattle downpour! Their roof was covered and had heaters, lights, and plexiglass between tables. It felt very safe. The food was also very good.

Terra Plata is the place I will remember most about my trip to Seattle. The food was beyond amazing, the service was beyond amazing, just everything. I recommend this place 1000%!

Dining at Terra Plata was such a treat - and almost felt like "the before" times. The rooftop deck is warm and inviting, food incredible, and service friendly.

Hands down the best brunch I’ve had ever!! The perfect way to begin the new year. Manchego biscuits, Mac ‘n Cheese with King crab, scallop ceviche, baked eggs. So happy!

The food is simply outstanding. Service was a bit sketchy, but it was New Years Eve. The roof garden is lovely, and warm enough.

Good ambience. We all ordered hand warmer drinks ( 4): of these 2 were completely cold! I had conveyed ahead of time about one person being gluten free and vegetarian. We were told twice that the server and the kitchen will be notified of this. The server did not acknowledge that and when asked about GF options said: we will see what we can do? The swapped a pasta dish for GF pasta which was half cooked , took out the meat but did not substitute with any vegetables. Another person ordered bread bowl soup and was given a regular bowl of soup. When asked, the server said it should be...Do you want some bread? Not the response you want when you are spending so much for your food.

Absolutely delicious. We’ve gone back 2 times in 2 days. Highly recommend.

We LOVED going here during COVID--it's one of 2 places we've gone since the shut down in March 2020 and it felt very safe, very warm and cozy on the covered heated rooftop deck. Drinks and food and service always excellent there, but a tad overpriced IMO.

I wasn't sure about this place because the menu looked plain in the photos. I was so glad to have made reservations here in the end! They called an hour before our reservation to ask the name of my friend whose birthday it was and customized the menu with his name on it! It was so special. The food was so good and healthy, and service was excellent! Will definitely be back

Our family had brunch on the outdoor rooftop. The food and service were sensational. We especially loved the biscuits, the chorizo patties and the bread pudding french toast.
They had heat lamps so despite the brisk temperatures we were comfortable. It was our first time there for brunch and we will definitely be back!

Food quality was good. Variety was only ok.

They messed up on our 7:45 reservation and our table wasn’t ready until almost 8:30. Food and presentation was terrible. Lebneh had no flavor, both set of fries were dried, and fish oily and crumbly.
