What Insiders Are Saying
It doesn’t get much better than having a Spanish brunch on Terra Plata’s rooftop garden in Capitol Hill. We like it for Monday night paella too.
Always brilliant in all categories. Service is just right. Food is always excellent
We loved our first visit to Terra Plata. The food is delicious and artistically presented. Each dish was better than the first. Unique dishes served in unique ways, all locally sourced. The service is awesome. The servers and all staff were super friendly and accommodating even though it was a very busy Mother's Day. We will be back and I highly recommend Terra Plata!
Truly lovely. Thank you so much for a great experience.
We selected terra plata for dinner to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation. The location was perfect - we dined on the rooftop. The food was brilliantly conceptualized, especially the nettle risotto. The staff went out of their way to make the occasion special for our daughter.
Outstanding food. So fresh. Every dish was perfectly prepared and presented. We will be back with friends.
We were seated almost 45 minutes late and food came out sporadically. Staff was poor.
The atmosphere on the roof deck is fantastic, and I enjoyed the food. However the service was atrocious. The waitress seated me at the wrong table at first, which was fine, until I saw her do it to other people . I’m thinking it was her first day. But then it took 15 mins per round of drinks, and I ordered a draft beer when there was only 3 people on the roof deck (and no one downstairs) at 4:30pm. The couple next to me waited over 20 minutes to order their first drink, and it was more than 30 minutes in until they received it. They also received the wrong food. To top it off, it was the woman’s birthday, and the waitress (finally delivering their drinks) said it the driest, unenthusiastic, stone-faced, I-dont-care-about-anything, Shane-Company-radio-voice: “So I hear it’s tour birthday. Happy birthday. Our specials are...”
It was just an awful service experience. Which really bummed me out because I have heard such amazing things about the roof deck and food.
Terra Plata exceeds all expectations every single time I go there. Just a fabulous meal with excellent service in a gorgeous venue. From front desk, to service, to the setting, a fantastic experience. ❤
The perfect place for a surprise date night on the roof deck.
Too small of a portion size and prices are too much. Dinner for 2 should not cost $200+!!!
Service also brought our food out too slow, so our veggie plates were cold by the time the meat came out.
Love this restaurant . It was my first time there, we were able to sit on the rooftop on a beautiful day ,our waiter was outstanding , the food was amazing. I can’t wait to go back again
This was an extremely disappointing restaurant. They were short staffed and we only saw our waiter for the initial order and the bill. We had to ask for help, and wait long periods of time for our orders. I had to flag a worker down to order more dishes and drinks. Portions were very small and expensive.
Firstly, I love Terra Plata. The night in question it took us approximately 2 hours to receive our food. We ordered radishes that where blanched so it was beyond surprising that it took that long since there was little actual cooking for that particular dish. The owner was kind enough to come to our table not once but twice to apologize for the delay and to explain that they were busier than anticipated on the Tuesday night. I will definitely go back as my last experiences and the owners hospitality made up for the almost three to four hour meal!
Beautiful evening on the roof. Service was great as usual. Delicious food- creative, local
Beautiful ambiance and the food was outrageous. The patatas bravas are a must and the paella took me straight to Spain!
The worst service experience I’ve had. Tables on both sides of us were getting their orders taken and food out faster than ours. Coffee cup was repeatedly empty. Disappointing. Will reconsider future visits.
Our experience at Terra Plata was by far one of the best dinners I've ever had in Seattle. The duck breast was simply perfection -- smoky, so tender, crispy on the outside, perfect cut -- just the right amount of fat melt in your mouth GOODNESS!!
It was my Second time trying Terra Plata and the service was horrible.
We went on a Monday, paella night. Next time we want to try their other main dishes. We also ordered several tapas. Everything was excellent!
Great birthday dinner on Paella night. Excellent service and ambiance on upstairs outside deck
The service and food are always amazing here. It was our first time coming for brunch and our first time with our kids, though we’ve been for dinner a handful of times. We ate every bite off our plates: the brown sandwich (swoon), duck fat roasted potatoes, French toast, manchego biscuit, scrambled egg. We wanted the shishito peppers cuz we love them at dinner, but didn’t want to overdo it, so we skipped them, but you shouldn’t. My coffee cup was kept filled, the vanilla lemonade was fantastic (my son and I thought it was perfect, my daughter thought it was too tart). It was an excellent way to spend a Sunday morning.
Food, ambiance, and service was amazing! Staff make you feel special. Food was spectacular. Can’t wait to go back!
Great upper level outside seating! The service was a little slow but I think it’s because we came after the Brunch Rush and everyone was tired lol
Wonderful restaurant, GREAT rooftop area with lots of seating and heaters in case it gets chilly. Awesome brunch.
Had a dinner here with my wife. They have a nice menu and attentive service but the food was a little disappointing for the price. A $22 small plate that we ordered for a shared appetizer was not enough for two. The halibut was dry. Not sure if it was overcooked or previously frozen. Not even close to what I had in other restaurants this week.
Terra Plata is an excellent choice for good food in a pleasant atmosphere when you want to splurge or celebrate.
The food, service, and ambiance are always wonderful here! It's on the more expensive side, but portions are great, most dishes can be shared, and everything is prepared with care.
Lovely patio seating, acknowledged birthday celebration on specially printed menus, great handmade spicy Bloody Mary and food. Enjoyed the atmosphere and staff!
Delicious food! Only complaint is the price & wish they had a deal like other places with the mimosas in which you can get more than one---I wanted another one, but it was too $$ to order 2, or of they at least would have filled the glass up (looked like I got half a mimosa). Other than that, everything was so amazing and delicious & can't wait to go back!!!
Easter brunch was amazing! The only complaint is that they give you a specific amount of time for your party to finish at which would be great if all the food came out at a reasonable amount of time. In the end we waited an extra 15mins for a fruit plate and ceviche dish after all the warm food was delivered. My assumptions are that they were forgotten however nothing was said and they finally brought them out once we notified them that we were still waiting.
The rooftop is amazing and has nice heaters for a chilly day. Will be back.
This is one of my favorite restaurant in Seattle, and every I go time everything is spot on!
The room was quite warm, not sure if the AC was broken.
I went to Terra Plata last week for a celebratory dinner at 8pm with 6 friends. Was really looking forward to this place but it was clear when we arrived that the restaurant was extremely understaffed since there was only one waiter on the floor for the entire place during peak dinner hours, which was crazy! Long story short, the food was good but the service was terrible, ruined the entire experience for us. It took 45 minutes for our drinks to come out - we ordered a bottle of wine and 3 cocktails. Our waiter was extremely rude. He barely paid attention to us the entire meal and with each course he forgot multiple items that we had ordered. Never once apologized and then still charged us 20% gratuity. Won't be going back.
It can get busy during peak hours, so if you're expecting a quick bite, this may not be the place. However, it is a FANTASTIC place if you're looking to have a easy-going meal and good conversation with your dining partner. The music isn't too loud so it's easy to actually have a conversation! Love it. The staff are friendly and lovely. Celebrated an anniversary date here and they had cute touches on the menus and do their best to make it feel special. Love Terra Plata.
Honestly, the food was great. Terrific upper deck with adequate heating outdoors, and good, interesting, decently priced drinks. Our waiter was terrible. Really terrible, but the other people working were helpful and friendly. If we had a different waiter and didn't feel overlooked and underserved, it would have been excellent.
Every time I eat at Terra Plata I am blown away. We started with the Spanish Octopus appetizer and it was the best octopus I have ever had - not over cooked and chewy like you so often get at other places. I then had the burger while my friend had the Zarzuela de Mariscos. Both were great. We finished the night off with the salted caramel chocolate bar which was basically an elegant, adult version of a snickers bar; so tasty! Five stars! I will be back again soon.
This is one of those rare restaurants where you can have a romantic evening one week, a business dinner the next and a family dinner the third week -- without ever getting bored of the food. And the wait staff really care about how you are enjoying your food and your comfort. Plus, you can hear the other people at your table because the noise level is low enough (though the energy is quite high!)
It was really good. The food was amazing. Highly recommend it.
I didn't see it on the regular menu, but the Restaurant Week chimichurri steak was particularly fantastic!
