Terra Nova Ratings and Reviews
Arrived early for our reservation and it was not an issue, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was personable and very polished. He laughed with us and made us feel comfortable. The food was excellent and the bill reasonable. Would definitely recommend Terra Nova for a great meal and experience.
The food and service is always fabulous here. The only downside is the menu only caters to seafood and fish lovers. If you’re a steak eater, there is only a filet to choose from. If you prefer chicken, there are only 2 choices. I love seafood, but my husband doesn’t, and there is not much for him to choose from. I would love to see them add more steak and chicken entrees.
When the restaurant is this crowded, the banquet rooms should be opened for seating if there is not an event in them. We felt a bit rushed, our steaks were really too rare, but know better than to send steaks back! We come there all of the time, but not usually on a Saturday night, so we will keep coming, but stick to during the week. The bar crowd is a bit obnoxious as there was a large group that was walking around talking with their group, but kept their coats on the barstools, so nobody else could sit even though they were standing nearby mingling. Not a fault of the restaurant of course just a bit of a turn off.
Waiter talked me out of Chicken Terra Nova, looked good and what I was in the mood for, which he claims was just plain Chicken Parmigiana for $20.00...talked me into $27.00 Kabobs that were drowning in BBQ Sauce, horrible!! 70% vegetables that weren't even grilled. This waiter clearly wanted a larger bill and to head home early as we were also rushed. I may give it another try while visiting friends in the area and I will order what I want and not what is recommended.
Terra Nova is one of my favourite restaurants it is excellent for happy hour and good for a great Italian meal. service is excellent management superb worth the trip even if you don’t live in the area one of the best Italian restaurants that you can not try at least once. it will be your favourite restaurant if you do
Enjoyed a great New Year's Eve dinner. The food was very good and didn't take long at all. The bang bang tempura shrimp were amazing and the short ribs were phenomenal. The lava brownie was unreal!! The only disappointment was in the drink menu, I looked online in advance and apparently it was an older menu posted. I was a little disappointed none of the drinks I saw online were available. Not a big deal because the food was excellent!!
We went on Sat. night for an early New Years dinner with another couple an we were not
disappointed. We go around the holidays a lot an enjoy the overall ambiance. We arrived with happy hour still going on and had a cocktail at the bar before we were seated for dinner. The bar area was crowded with the happy hour crowd so you know this is the place to eat.Had a great meal as always I only had one complaint an that was with my Lobster Bisque, no lobster in it at all , it was still good but should of had some lobster meat in it.Everyone else in our group enjoyed their meals from the Sushi and onion soup to the the mushroom flatbread which was excellent..A must place to dine.
The service we received on Friday night was the worst.! I don’t recall
The server’s name , because she didn’t introduce herself! Two people in the group had drinks already from the bar when we sat down, the other ordered a classic martini which in your menu is supposed to
Come with olives , which this one didn’t have, when we asked about the olives her answer was “sometimes they put olives sometimes they don’t”. We ordered small sharing plates, everyone got their food in different times , mine meal never came , so I asked her about it , again her response “ I forgot about it”! Also never asked us if we wanted another round of drinks This was not our
First time there , we enjoy going there, but this time was very disappointing!
Our server was very polite and attentive. There were four of and we shared the Mediterranean Plate which was perfect for us, we even had a little bit left over. Our meals were delicious, the crab cakes were of great size, and stuffed with lots of crab, two of had those and we both brought home half of our dinners. One friend had ordered the filet which was amazing, & the other had the salmon with crabmeat. We enjoyed the atmosphere, very roomy and it didn’t feel like you were on top of one another.
This is one of our favorite restaurants, it's just we don't always get there as much as we would like due to location. The food was delicious, our drinks tasted great and the server was absolutely wonderful. We decided to try two sushi rolls for our appetizer and they did not disappoint. Next time we go back we decided that we are going to order a bunch of small plates and appetizers so we can taste more of their menu.
We were running late and they were very accommodating in moving or reservation 1/2 hr later.
The special cocktails were very tasty.
Of Note: We had the scallops wrapped in prosciutto. It was wonderful. It was almost large enough to be an entree.
They have several private rooms that were hosting events. Some noise from the music leaked into the dinning room and was a tad annoying, but livable.
We were hoping to meet friends and enjoy the Happy Hour menu, but as usual the bar scene was too busy. We think one needs to be waiting at the door during opening to get a seat in the bar area. We tried several times and failed. However, table seating was ample and the meals were excellent as usual. The server was very attentive and accommodating. We eventually enjoyed a 3 hour dining experience.
Left standing by the door for quite awhile, despite having reservations. The Caesar salad, onion soup and Oysters Rockefeller were delicious. There is an upcharge if you order the Caesar instead of the House Salad. The short ribs with rice was tender and delicious, however the two different sauces seemed to clash.
Fun date night with my husband of 24 years! Great place to go pre-theater, if you leave extra time for the wait.
The menu was a pleasant mix of Italian and quality Sushi style cuisine. Our family of 5 enjoyed different varieties on the menu. We were all exceptionally surprised with the level of service and the flavors of our dishes made the evening a wonderful success.
This was our third or fourth visit to Terra Nova and like each of our other dining experiences there, we were not disappointed. The decor is rustic and inviting. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. The wait staff pleasant and attentive. The food is fantastic. This was the first time we`d ever tried the sushi and we were glad we did. It was definitely top notch. This is a restaurant we would absolutely recommend trying.
