Overall, we would call this a disappointing experience. We reserved Thanksgiving dinner at Terra for a pre fixe menue at $125 pp plus tax, tip and alcohol. At this price at a Four Seasons report we anticipated an elegant setting, maybe even stepped up due to the holiday. The food was superb and portions were large enough that we were able to take home leftovers. But the ambiance was lacking—just felt like another nondescript hotel dining room on any old day. Plus, just seeing the menu in advance was an incredibly complicated process—we had to open a link and then get a long complicated security code just to see the menu. The code was beyond something that could be memorized so we needed two separate iPhones in order to input the. It felt like we were unlocking some top secret document. So…the final cost was $400 per couple for the prefix dinner, one mixed drink and one glass of wine per person.

This is the 2nd time in a row that I've had a poor experience at Terra @ Four Seasons. The staff come across as "doing you a favor" to park your car or seat you or serve you. Then they don't listen, are slow, forgetful etc. It's as though they have not been trained. The venue is "nice" but not nice enough to compensate for the poor service and the price of the food (which is average at best). I do not expect to leave a restaurant with the brand name Four Seasons disappointed but we left frustrated for making the drive out to Encantando and wasting our time and annoying our guests.

Terra is one of our local go-to restaurants. Cocktails are always spot on. Service a great mix of casual/professional. The food follows suit. Last night we inhaled, scallops, shrimp gambas, gnocchi, and hatch chicken soup. Sunset stunning.

We had a fabulous dining experience at Terra last night, the most memorable part of which was our interaction with Larry, our server. He made great menu recommendations and was the consummate professional. He was kind enough to share a detailed history of the property and of the original owner of the ranch on which the Four Seasons Resort sits. Thank you, Larry, for making our visit truly memorable.

Understaffed and rather impolite hostess who seated us outside at the bar. Many unbussed tables and very slow service. I had to demand we be reseated at the regular patio since we were being ignored at the bar patio. Sad because we have been here before and were very pleased.

We thought the food would be superior due to the prices, but we were very disappointed. I had the bison and it was tough even though I ordered it medium rare. The dull steak knife didn’t help either. I ended up chewing on it for awhile to get the most for my buck and eventually spit it out. My husband had the fish, sea bass I believe, and he said it had very little flavor. The wine and the bread were excellent. The service was also fantastic! Sorry, but we won’t be back.

My husband I eat at Four Seasons at least once every two months. Last night the food was not up to par. We received the Scallop entree and there were 5 very small scallops and a little bit of corn and the sauce. We even asked our waiter where is rest of food on entree as we had the entree several times prior and his response was “that’s all there is”! REALLY! The entire place plate was less than 8 oz of food for the total plate. For reference their entry portion of food may have covered a tenth of the plate. It was almost laughable!!! The paella was bland and “fish” on paella was not good. My husband said the Paella dish itself was “bland” at best. The blueberry cheesecake had no flavor and I’ve cream was the only good item on desert plate. I know you can do better and we experienced many wonderful dinners at Four Seasons. We both left hungry and left FS and went to Bishops Lodge to fill our need for food due to being still being hungry.

I've eaten here twice now. First time was outstanding. This time was disappointing. Salad was 80% stems, steak was overdone and the desserts (we ordered three because dinner wasn't that great) were so-so. Service was perfect though.

Food, service and ambiance was outstanding! Everything we ate was delicious, but our favorites on this visit were the Aguachile Rojo Hamachi Ceviche and the Churros for dessert. I highly recommend Terra and consider it to be one of the best in Santa Fe.

I don't know what happened to this kitchen. We were surprised to find that they had changed chefs; we loved the old one. Somehow our waiter behaved as if he had never waited before in his life - he was overwhelmed. What was disappointing was that he did not call for help from other people. We alerted others to the problem and they seemed consternated but powerless to fix the problem. We waited almost an hour to even receive 1 drink and more than that for food. The view and ambience are lovely and we tried to get over it but it is next to impossible. The food was quite good and the waiter gave us 2 desserts to "make up" but by that time, things had gone south. We won't go back until we see a string of reviews that give us confidence. This was a special birthday and that added to the disappointment.

While our server was quite attentive and helpful, we were disappointed in the food experience overall. The ceviche was incredibly overpowered by a vinegar “sauce” and the tostada was lacking flavor. Other dishes were good but other than the dessert, not a lot stood out or made us want to dine here again. In addition, we ordered a wine specifically because of the vintage but what was presented was two years younger. We had a sticky fork and while this normally isn’t a huge deal, we just carry a higher expectation for Four Seasons. We were also wondering why the sculpture garden off the dining area wasn’t lit despite seeing fixtures. These again aren’t big things but for the price and reputation of a Four Seasons, it was pretty disappointing. Fortunately the $32 old fashioned was unique enough to justify the price. Given our past experience at anther resort, we just wonder how the Four Seasons maintains it’s five star rating.

We had an exquisite meal at Terra. The opera pre-fixe meal was wonderful- we got the burrata salad (great flavor combinations), beef ribs (absolutely delicious and tender), chicken, poblanos. The dessert was 4 flavors of homemade ice cream. The chef and server took great care with our dietary restrictions (gluten free). Our server was Perla, and she was delightful and so helpful and kind. (She is a gem, Terra!). It was a magical evening at Terra, with great food, wonderful service and a lovely view of the sunset. This was our first visit to the restaurant, and we will definitely be back.

Great pre-fixe meal before the opera! Million dollar view! Wine pairings were spot on and the deconstructed olive oil cake is absolutely divine! Would highly recommend.

Our waiter was run ragged. He did the best he could but was clearly overwhelmed. It took 30 minutes to get bread and longer to get drinks. The food was good but not great for a $100 per person dining experience. Definitely not what one would expect from the four seasons. We will not go back.

We expected great service and food from a Four Seasons Restaurant - unfortunately, we were disappointed. The service was better than the food. We each had a different main course but shared appetizers. Beef Carpaccio was good and the shrimp was OK--nothing to write home about. Bison steak was decent but tough - chewy. The potato that was highly recommended was awful!! The Paella wasn't seasoned well and wasn't the consitency or flavor of any Paella I've ever eaten. The sea bass was probably the best of the main courses, but was also under seasoned and underwhelming. The desserts were just OK. Overall, not a place I would recommend for the $$$$

Terrific food and service. Portion size was right on the money (no leftovers and could enjoy appetizers and dessert with the meal), rare to find. So far the best restaurant I've been to in the Los Alamos/Santa Fe area.
