Another excellent food experience. The pastrami was outstanding and Colleen was wonderful!
We received the usual great service and farm to table food.
The food is locally sourced and delicious. It's a casual place where you can bring your whole family or on a date. I'm little bummed that the server or the restaurant didn't really show all the promotion the restaurant offers like fixed dinner menu. I found out later and I was disappointed.
Service not attentive and not so knowledgeable with wine selection: nice view and sittings: the filet mignon was ordered medium rare and came out cooked more. The scallops , nice size but tasteless
Quick Pick, local area all and all Loved It! I will go back and recommend to friends...
Amazing, as usual! Food and service are always on point! Thank you!
Always an innovative, healthy menu of mostly organic, locally sourced food.
Always a pleasant experience xperience
Christine at the bar is always a happy , accommodating and knowledgable professional ..
As usual the food was amazing and the service from Nick our waiter was exceptional. He is one of the reasons I love this restaurant!
Had a reservation and were seating within 10 minutes of reservation time-good for Easter brunch! Food and specialty cocktail great; set menu for the holiday, but good selection and worth the cost. One disappointment, though...two individuals at my table wanted to order a specific entree and were told they were out of it. Then a large table, that came in and was seated after us, receiving their meals after us, received several plates of that very entree. Those in my group that wanted to order it felt misled and it didn't leave a good impression-even though their food was good.
We had a group of 6 for Easter Brunch. I liked the fixed menu instead of a buffet as there is more personal service. Our ages ranged from 8-68. There wasn't anything left on our plates so the food was great.
Love this place. A must for brunch.
I live in the neighborhood and appreciate that Terra is one of the few farm to table restaurants nearby. Although I have found the quality of the cooking inconsistent, I return because I need to eat GF, and like that there are GF options. I also appreciate that the food is fresh, seasonal and mostly? organic.
My 2 companions shared several appetizers and were happy. At dessert time, I chose the homemade vanilla ice-cream and had to send it back. It had no flavor, and the texture was crystallized as if it had been partially thawed and then refrozen. ( I had avoided the flourless chocolate cake as another possible GF dessert choice, because --compared to other offerings by that name,at other restaurants, the Terra offering is not very tasty--not very chocolate-y or cake-y. ) When asked by the hostess, how I enjoyed the meal, I explained my negative dessert experience and she kindly gave me a coupon good for a free dessert another time. I had also asked for only 2 vegetables, ( carrots and broccoli) instead of the stir fry with many vegetables, because I was allergic to some of them. The server told me she wrote down my request for the chef, but when the food arrived, the chef had not honored my request. We had an after dinner engagement, so there was no time to send the veggies back to see if they could get it right the 2nd time. It's a nuisance to have food allergies/sensitivities so I dont eat out too often. It takes a certain caliber of restaurant to cater to special needs. I had hoped Terra would be able to rise to the occasion. Sometimes, in the past, it has--but I haven't been able to count on it.
Food was good. Sometimes in their attempt to utilize the whole vegetable inedible/tough parts are served. Flavor combinations are unique which I enjoy. The blue mason jars for drinking add a nice pop of color.
A very nice experience! American comfort food has never had it so good!
Broccoli soup was too salty. Had the only fish available which was good but soy sauce was salty too. Disappointed.
It is difficult to have a conversation with table mates if the restaurant has one or two loud customers. This seems to always be the case. When one table is loud, others compensate by getting louder to be heard. There is nothing on the walls that absorbs noise, so it bounces all through the restaurant. Wish they could work on that problem.
We've been there several times and the experience is consistently wonderful! Very nice staff!
Love their happy hour and Wednesday’s if you bring your own bottle they waive the corkage fee. And the bartender is awesome!
All 4 of us enjoyed out entrees - pan fried local fish, hanger steak, pork chop. The calamari appetizer was tasty - the presentation was cool!
We were a group of 5 ladies celebrating our birthdays. We all enjoyed our food immensely. Delicious flavors and good portions. As to the noise level I truly can't comment, we didn't stop chatting long enough to notice.
A friend and I dined there a couple of nights ago, arriving at about 5:45. We were seated immediately and the timing was perfect. Within 15-20 minutes. The restaurant started getting very busy and the noise level increased. We ordered the fried brussel sprouts appetizer and the grilled Scottish salmon entree, which we shared. The food was mouth-watering delicious and service was excellent. Neither of us could have finished an entree by ourselves, so sharing was perfect. Since I'm not a fan of noisy restaurants, going early was perfect timing.
We were there for Sunday brunch, and both chose the quesadilla. We liked the crispy-but-not-greasy flour tortilla. The pulled pork was, um, porky, but did not appear to have been cooked with any seasoning. We use very little salt, but this seemed to have none. Thank goodness for the mild but flavorful roasted salsa. I would have liked to have had about twice as much of that. Our side of bacon had excellent flavor - we had to order it, after smelling it as we got out of our car! Cooked just right, I still wish they had blotted some of the grease off the surface.Service was good, especially the refilling if drinks. But this place is insanely loud. They’ve tried to do something about this by mounting panels covered with burlap from coffee bean sacks on the ceiling, but they need more.
All the entrees were cooked to perfection and tasted great..salmon , sea bass, and steak..All three cooked to perfection...I totally enjoyed the pumpkin raviolis, a seasonal favorite. While there was laughter and discussions around the room we totally enjoyed our meal..The waitstaff are friendly, efficient and professional. You have to try the brownie cooked in a tiny iron skillet. The brownie is topped with a caramel sauce to die for and ice cream.
I can always count on Terra to provide a beautiful plate of food which also tastes delicious. My friends from Oregon were very impressed. Service was wonderful, too!
This is a rotational spot for us and when we want to stay close to home but want top food and service we go to Terra. Jeff's dishes are always good and there is always something new. My wife had a cup of Cream of Broccoli soup for an apetizer and I had the Potato,Brie and Red Onion Quesadilla. Both were very good. My wife had the Grilled Hanger steak that came with Bacon Potato Hash and brown butter parmesan Cauliflower. The steak was very well seasoned and tender and she absolutely loved the Bacon Potato hash. I had the Cioppino (it is something I will order anytime I see it on a menu) and Jeffs version of this Italian classic is really good. I have never had it anywhere where the flavors were not different. I will order this again anytime I am at Terra if it is on the menu. My wife had coffee and I had a glass of Elijah Craig Bourbon on the rocks. Now about whiskey. We sat at the bar as we usually do so in conversation about Bourbon our Bartender Sara who is awesome showed me a bottle of Bourbon called Blantons. Her curiosity got her and she wanted to taste it and gave me a taste. It is sooo smooth and when I get it it will be straight no ice. We need the night with a shared Banana Bread Pudding, Hey its Bread Pudding so yeah it was good but unlike ,most the sweetness was toned down a little which made it very enjoyable.
Dining at Terra's is always a pleasure; really great tasting food, friendly waitstaff and service. The salmon was cooked to perfection and I can't say enough great things about the seasonal pumpkin raviolis.
One can never go wrong eating at Terra. Menu is fresh and varied. Great service from friendly staff.
Great food spot in East County. Definitely a great gathering place for friends. Colleen was very helpful and had such a great engaging personality.
We have been here numerous times with friends and by ourselves. We come here for bdays and anniversaries, and get together. Everyone loves it and we do too.
Always a treat to see what's offered here, with interesting specials and enough creative combinations on the menu to make it lively. The friendly servers add yet another layer of comfort to this unassuming, consistently worth-it eatery.
Sunday brunch was delicious! There were many Mexican versions of American classic egg dishes! The stuffed French toast was amazing!
This used to be a favorite of ours.
I ordered the brie and potato quesadilla appetizer, it was awful. Full of raw red onion. My salad was wilted.
My salmon was fine. But I expect better than "fine" from this place.
We are removing from our go to list-even if it is only a few blocks from home.
Terra continues to be our favorite go-to restaurant. We are immediately welcomed and treated as friends. We have been dining at Terra on a regular basis for several years and we are never disappointed with the food - it is consistently high quality and thoughtfully prepared. We enjoy that the menu is seasonal and thus has new options to try.
The staff is exceptional, always welcoming and professional!
As we live in the neighborhood we welcomed a restaurant like this and especially love the chefs dinners. We’ve always been happy with the food and drinks here. Perhaps it’s our fault that we did not frequent enough, but on returning on a Sunday evening to take friends out for dinner, we were so disappointed I feel sad that we’ll probably not return. The menu was uninspiring and except for the salt and pepper calamari which was great as usual,it was just an ordinary meal available anywhere. We used to feel it was a chef inspired food place and appreciate chef Jeff’s food. My feeling was it had been changed to accommodate the locals and I understand, you need to make money in order to stay open. So I guess it’s just not for us anymore. I also had to return my cocktail and we waited ages to get our drinks when there was no one sitting at the bar and it was a half filled room. Sorry I feel this way as we like to support local businesses.
as always it's a great place to eat and have a drink.
We eat here two to three times a year and have never been disappointed. Excellent food and service with menus that are seasonal. Keep up the good work!!!
We have eaten at Terra on many occasions and have never been disappointed. But this was not the place for Valentine's Day romance.
We love this restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious and the presentation is excellent. Love the convenience and the neighborhood feel. Good service!
