Tequila's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant was very busy, which I took as a good sign. I was able to get a reservation within a short time though. We were seated quickly.
The reason I'm not rating it higher than I did is for the following:
-Service was slow-from getting the chips to getting drinks
-The seating area was very crowded. Everyone was on top of each other.
Besides that, the restaurant was clean and the food was good but pricey.
Wonderful food, staff and ambiance. The noise level can get to be too much. At my most recent visit, my friend and I decided not to talk until after leaving the restaurant since neither of us could hear the other, due to a large group of 10-12 that was literally shouting at each other all through dinner. The ceviche guacamole and grouper with mango sauce were sublime.
We ate here on a Friday night before a show. It was very loud, which made conversation difficult and gave my wife a headache. Our waiter was nice, but he never told us the specials. The food was decent, but it didn't wow us. There are plenty of other mexican restaurants to try in the city. We won't be back.
We had dinner at Tequila's prior to seeing a show on Saturday night. We were blown away by the authenticity of the food and the fabulous service. Every single item ordered by our table of 5 was thoroughly enjoyed. The enchiladas were incredible, the hot lava bowl was really unique and the flavors exquisite, the fish special was excellent, everything was just really done to perfection. Not too mention the tequilas and margaritas, oh, and the desserts! Wow. Both the Tres Leches cake and Churros were unforgettable. I can't wait to go back!
Food and service was fabulous! Disappointed in our seating arrangements! I noted on the reservation that we were coming for my sister in laws birthday celebration - we were seated in a corner in back by the back door and serving station - it felt as bad as sitting by the kitchen - outside of that the meal was delicious as always.
Simply the best traditional Mexican food on the East Coast. This isn't tex-mex...so if you are looking for tacos and quesadillas this isn't your place. However if you want beef tenderloin served in a tomato sauce in a lava rock bowl, or fresh fish layered with guacamole and mango salsa and traditional Mezcal and tequila cocktails this is your spot
What a great experience .. our waiters from Cancun were knowledgeable and provided excellent service ! The in-house tequila was fantastic ..especially the 10 year anejo.. The celek margarita is a winner! Carne asada is fantastic and the atmosphere is electric
Good food with nice atmosphere. My only concern was that for a high end restaurant the server was trying too hard to up-sell and push things. They forgot one of our appetizers and then charged us extra when we asked for some green hot sauce and brought us something that was in a small dish and looked like sliced up peppers.
