TENDER steak & seafood - Luxor Ratings and Reviews
Great cocktails. The bread basket had cold bread, nothing special. I would expect a steakhouse to have something more memorable. Lobster bisque was delicious. The crab cake had a weird aftertaste. Would not order it again. The seabass entree was just not good at all. The flavors did not mix well. It was basically fish and salad on a plate. The spinach was ice cold with some ice cold lentils, zero flavor. I left the salad and ate the fish with creamed spinach that my date was enjoying with his steak. The waiter never asked if we wanted another cocktail even though our empty glasses were sitting there for a while. So many choices in Vegas for food. Would not come back here. If I had to do it all over again, I would only order the cocktails at the bar.
We chose Tender because of the proximity to the Criss Angel show at the Luxor. It was a very good dining experience. My wife had the filet and it was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of char. I had the Bison Sirloin, also cooked exactly to temperature with great flavor. The lobster risotto was very tasty and the wait staff was attentive to our needs. While this restaurant wasn't even on our radar, we were glad to have stumbled upon it and would definitely return if we find ourselves on the South end of the Strip near dinner time!
Pre Dinner show with Blue Man Experience "Behind the Blue" and then the show, followed by an awesome intimate dinner experience. Delicious Salmon and Center Cut Filet plates were aesthetically appealing and succulent to the palate. Very relaxing after a high energy show, and so very "Vegas". An attentive server and wait staff made for an excellent finish to our evening. THANKS!
Attention needs to be paid to the oyster platter presentation. I asked that the oyster juice be preserved in the half shell. Unfortunately, the shells were placed on a shaved ice mound and the juice ran out before it reached our table. Our filet minon was dry and over cooked. We ordered medium rare, it was more medium, with all juice drained off of the served plate.
We made a reservation before looking at the menu and seeing the exorbitant prices. But we had some vouchers which brought the cost down to earth. The food was wonderful. The menu is a la Carter but the sides are large enough to share. The service was very nice. We enjoyed our meal but be prepared to pay dearly.
Service wise Tender is a great restaurant. Food wise not so much. My steak was such an oxymoron. It was both dry and medium at the same time. And on top of the interesting dryness it had to be the blandest steak I've ever had. I spend quite a bit of money enjoying a good steak and this definitely did not live up to the cost.
I also had the bone morrow which was interesting and flavorful simply because of what it is. The sides were good and seasoned well. We had mushrooms, asparagus and mashed potatoes.
I wanted to like this restaurant since our bill was so high but even the water had a chemical like taste to it.
Went there before the show with food and service way beyond expectations. We both had the 8oz filets and split the bake potato and caprese salad. Steak was melt in your mouth perfect at medium well and potato was plenty for 2. Service was 5 star. Would definitely go there again.
The staff was excellent. High class professionally ran.
Our dinner was served perfectly with the temperature and delivery perfect.
My wife birthday was treated with elegance and a smart measured amount of fun and interaction.
Wife was happy. Best dinner we had in Vegas over our five days.
The Bison Ribeye was very bland with no flavor. It was also over cooked. My daughter had the filet and said it was okay. The waiter spoke very low and the noise in the background was so loud that you could not hear him. He was not very friendly - almost on the snobby side. I understand it was an upscale restaurant but the service should at least be friendly. We go to Vegas 2 times per year and definitely will not go back to Tender.
Nice place, romantic and steak was good. After an hour, they realized they lost our order. Competed us a drink each that we wouldn't of gotten, except for the fact we were there an extra hour. Wouldn't go back. Waiter had a bit of an attitude, though he screwed up
Coming from the East Coast, we had restaurants that had a lot more game meals. When I saw that Tender offered a Game Meal Trio, we decided to book for dinner. We booked for 5pm because we had a show at 7. The mushroom soup was good, the lobster bisque was not very good and was actually sent back. It was chalky, lacked lobster and the flavor just wasn't there. The trio included boar, venison and elk. The boar was a bit tough, but the venison and elk were just amazing! The place needs a sommelier or someone with a bit more knowledge of wines. Desserts here are phenomenal. They weren't your typical steakhouse desserts. Highly recommend the bananas foster bread pudding. To die for!! The food came out pretty quickly, but we still ended up a few minutes late to the show. Overall, the staff are great and service is great. Definitely a little pricey compared to what you get out East, but to be expected on the Strip. We would go back!
Where do I start. Staying at the Four Seasons next door (Mandalay Bay) and read really good reviews about this steakhouse so we thought we'd give it a try. Two words, horrible and rude. Ordered two of their $110 wagu beef steaks as we've had at other steakhouses in Vegas and enjoyed. Ordered one medium and one medium well. Steaks come out medium rare and just a tiny tab better for the second one.
We send the steaks back (obviously). When you recook a steak it looses some of its taste but we didn't care as we didn't get what we ordered. 10 minutes later the steaks come out extremely well done (black burned all over the outside) and just a bit better versus medium well.
We explained to them we didn't want the steaks or the food cause we were not going to wait how much longer for new steaks. We offered to pay for the wine because we drank it and didn't want anything for free.
On my way out I asked to talk to the manager. One of the words I used was a swear word (I do admit that) to explain I was not happy. He interrupted me a few times and said that I shouldn't swear, which I said okay. He then proceeded to tell me it was a mistake. I told him a mistake happens when the steaks come out wrong the first time (not the second time when they're overdone).
May I add that we initially wanted to see the manager at our table and he didn't end up coming to our table ten minutes after we asked for him so we said screw it we will seek him out.
Didn't offer to do anything (even though I wouldn't of taken anything). Manager left it at "sorry nothing we can do".
Do not go here. Go to CUT steakhouse down the street.
