Ten is a modern Japanese tapas style restaurant, centrally located on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall.

Since 2006, Ten has served a variety of both traditional and original cuisine.

Chef Pei Jen Chang sources ingredients from the finest local, regional, and international sea and farm purveyors, and strives to offer fare that will appeal to the gamut of culinary palates.

Our bar menu boasts an extensive wine list, an assortment of imported and local craft beers, as well as one of the largest collections of sake in Virginia. In addition, we offer a unique selection of libations, such as hand-crafted Asian inspired cocktails, assembled using inventive, authentic ingredients, or a 'Sake Flight', which allows for the subtle, intricate flavors of three selected varietals to be experienced.

What a great experience! It was my dad’s 80th birthday and they gave us a nice, quiet table (I asked for a quieter table). The fish was extremely fresh and delicious, as was everything else! Service was lovely too.

The service was e trembly slow. We waiting longer than 30 minutes between each course. We sat down at 8pm for a price fixed menu. At 10:15 the waitress rudely told us that the kitchen was closing and if we wanted the dessert we already paid for we’d have to order it now. We were sitting there waiting on her. Very weird. Food was mediocre… rolls were the only above average menu item of the night. We will NOT be returning.

Excellent food but service and customer service was not great. They seemed to have much staff but it took awhile to get our order put in and to receive it unfortunately. Also hard to get more water. Everyone was very nice though. It was just an unbalanced evening.

The moderately-priced food here (sushi, rolls, appetizers, etc) is consistently excellent. The splurges, which we have less often, have also been consistently on point. The wait staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. Make a reservation at least a week ahead to ensure a table. Much further ahead for UVA graduation weekend, alumni weekend, etc.

This was a really cool ambiance and one of the better places you can eat out in Charlottesville. I’ve been dying for some good sushi since I moved here and Ten hit the spot. It’s a different atmosphere than other restaurants in the area and has a city-like feel to it. Would most definitely recommend to others!

Food was very good but the bar service was terrible. Took 20 minutes to get first drink and the second drink I order wasn't ready before we had finished our meal so told them to cancel it. Which seemed crazy since the place wasn't that busy and no one was sitting at the bar.

Ten is always an enjoyable experience! The food is outstanding, the environment is fun, and the service is wonderful. We tried the Spicy Toro this visit and were impressed - we’ll be back soon!
