Ten Ten Tapas - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Kudos to the new chef! The menu was very interesting and the food was well executed and delicious! The portions were however a bit small. We had to order a few more plates than we thought we would. Also the wine pours by the glass were very small. To get your money's worth, order by the 1/2 litre or the bottle. Overall a lovely evening.
This was a return visit after a stellar first experience but this second and last visit was terrible! The restaurant was out of a key menu item (on a Sat night!), the portions were much smaller than before, the service was slow and not so attentive, the wine selection was poor and the live music was great but way way too loud for a tiny venue dinner crowd. Very disappointed and won't come back.
I would not send anyone there! Dine Out Vancouver is to showcase the restaurant. All this did was showcas how poor the restaurant is. Amazingly small portions with lots of salt. Very very overpriced!! Four of us (two couples) and our bill was $200.00 with two domestic beer. We left the restaurant and went to Babylon Cafe for food as we were all starving. Have never paid so much for so little.
Thanks for a wonderful night! We loved our Dine Out Vancouver experience. It was the perfect way to spend our anniversary.
The food was fantastic and they were great about my allergy!
It took a long time to get dessert because of a birthday party but they gave us a complimentary glass of proseco which was a lovely treat.
We will definitely be back for tapas another time.
We dined here for DOV. Overly crowded tables so it felt like waiters were hovering because there was no other refuge for them to stand. You could hear all conversations of neighboring tables. Crispy cauliflower had no crisp at all. Both mojito and Moscow mule were too sweet. No-bake cheesecake dessert still had lumps of cream cheese in it. I could go on, but it just goes downhill.
This was our first time at Ten Ten Tapas, and we could not have had a more enjoyable dinner experience. EVERYBODY, including the wonderful and caring owners and the friendly and wonderful waiting staff, were very helpful and accommodating.
Perfect setting, delicious dishes, beautiful live music, great ambiance!
THANK YOU Ten Ten Tapas Staff, for an absolutely enjoyable and memorable
We will definitely be back!!! Cannot wait for warmer days to try out your patio!
My boyfriend and I dined at Ten Ten Tapas for the first time. We loved the food, the friendly fast service and live music. Would definitely go again and also dine outside on the summer patio. Fantastic evening! Oh, and the owner, Diane is a lovely person. I enjoyed meeting her : )
Evening started with a server advising us we had a 2 hour time limit for our reservation. Not a welcome, just a reminder that we could only be there for 2 hours.
Was Constantly bumped whenever a server went past, because the tables were so tight. Food was brought out in a progressive style, however some times I was the only person to not get food, when the other members of my party did. Servers brought the wrong items to our table, then picked them up and put them on the right table (no apology). Was seated right next to musician (especially loud). The 2 tables to form my table for 3 were not at the same height (1 was about an inch taller) so awkward with beverage placement. Hostess advised it was her first day, and that they were unprepared for the 800+ reservations they'd received through dine-out and were appreciative of feedback. Food flavours were great for the most part (risotto, poutine, calamari, but portions were too small). Chicken Lollipops were disappointing. Value for food portion was not great - considering regular menu prices and portion sizes - this restaurant is making $ hand over fist. Bill was calculated incorrectly, noting an extra martini, which was not ordered by our table, and the server then had to take the bills back to recalculate and split the bill into 2 for our table. Honest feedback was given, but we didnt sense they were glad to have us there or see us go, they just wanted to flip the tables. We work in the industry and visit restaurants regularly - felt though we didnt want to tip because of the experience, but the hostess advised us that they had brought on a Lot of new staff to keep up with the numbers. Still didnt meet my expectations for value, considering for 10 dollars more we were able to dine at the Keg and Market by Jean-Georges at Shangri-La Hotel, with much better value on the portion size... needs work Ten Ten Tapas. Great food, it was everything else...
"Still hungry"! I was not impressed with how hard it was to find the restaurant. Hidden away in English Bay. Not enough signage to guide you....nobody picked up the phone when trying to call to ask for directions on foot. Portions are way too small...even for tapa-style. We all left hungry. Parking was a bit of a nightmare too even though it's free.
I went to Ten Ten Tapas for Dine Out with 3 friends.
- Italian Rice and Lentil Stew - very flavourful and nicely presented
- Krispy Fried Cauliflower - tasty and fun
- service ( attentive, efficient, friendly)
- location - on the sea wall under the Burrard St Bridge
- live music - not too loud, provided a nice background noise
Not so good:
- hummus - presentation was uncreative, "fresh" vegetables were not fresh and were inadequate
- Paprika Potatoes - the chili tomato sauce was uninspired, maybe even canned, and turned me off the entire dish
- Chocolate Ganache Tarts - the pastry was inedible as it tasted of freezer burn, the chocolate was quite bland
- the lighting - I needed to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu and to see my dishes when they were served, and this was after asking for the lights to be turned up
I would return to this restaurant in the summer to give it another try so I can take advantage of their fabulous patio location.
We found the food to be good not great which was a bit of a letdown. The fish poppers were hands down the best item we tried during dineout Vancouver. Small wine list. The live music was a nice surprise but his attempting to sing like Louis Armstrong was a fail. This place is really all about location. Being right beside the harbour in false creek, you can't beat the views. Would definitely come back in the summer to sit on the patio with a bottle of wine and give the food another chance
The atmosphere was good. When we arrived it was vibrant with the live music and it made a good first impression. However, the service was lacking a dirty glass and the plates weren't cleared, they were also not attentive to keeping water glasses filled. Also, the food was mediocre at best .
Went here as part of the 2017 Dine Out event, good value for the number of different items we got to try and very tasty! Our server, David, was very friendly and sociable which was nice! Took the time to walk us through the menu options as we hadn't been there for Tapas before.
The only note I might add is that I found the tables along the left side wall when you come in (where we were seated) quite close together which made it hard to get out and resulted in us getting jostled when someone else shimmied in or out from another table.
Took an hour to get appetizers .
Food would have been better at home. Pricey. Cramped. Loud . Lots of upset customers. Unprepared. I wouldn't pay 20 for the meal which costed 100 if I had known. Now I do. Contacted establishment the next day and didn't even get response. It was worst b day I've had
I'm not sure if this is the restaurant's first time doing dine-out. My friend and I waited for over 3 hours to eat a small meal that we were not full from afterwards that we each had to get a hotdog later at a hotdog stand. The service was very friendly, however difference server told us different things. One person told us that our dessert was the next one to come out, but we waited an extra 50 mins after he said that to get our desserts, because a different server had "accidentally" cancelled our dessert.
I think the food overall was mediocre, the bruschetta was my favorite, but I would not recommend the restaurant due to slow service and small quantity of food
I was disappointed with this restaurant. We had reserved and when we arrived the table was not ready and we were placed closest to the door (cold) and right in front of the musician who is amazing but very loud. We could barely keep a conversation going.
I had heard there was a new chef and was looking forward to new dishes as the last time we were here they were less than inspiring. We were disappointed again. The main spice was salt and there was a lot of it! None of the dishes were really interesting except perhaps the complimentary amuse-bouche at the beginning which was a nice touch.
