Ten Ten Tapas - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Tapas are small, but reasonably priced. Charred octopus was a standout: baby octopus charred to tender perfection with a lovely romesco sauce whose touch of sweetness complemented the octopus' smokiness very well. Mushroom pate toasts were delicately flavoured but still tasty. Heirloom cherry tomato salad was bursting with fresh flavours. Seared tuna on vermicelli was a little disappointing -- 5 tiny pieces of tuna with a rub that was a little too salty, but not much flavour. Prawns were also a little disappointing -- four thin slices of prawn rather than whole ones, also not much flavour, although the peanut sauce with it was delicious. Chorizo toasts were topped with lots of matchstick slices of chorizo, and the tomato-based spread was nice. Overall very good though, and great fun sitting on the patio in the warm summer evening.
Really disappointed with the food. I had heard good things but the eggs benny was terrrible. It also took 45 minutes to be served our brunch and I was forced to send mine back as the eggs were mush. The other food on the plate was sparse and not enjoyable either. The mimosa were good, that was the highlight and the view is great.
Overall, our experience at this location was great. The view was perfect for a warm summer brunch. The service was a little bit slow at times, but understandable since I got the impression that our server was new. The food presentation was very nice and the flavours were definitely there. I wish the portions were a little bit larger, but I suppose the prices were quite comparable to other competitors. Highly recommend!
We had a Groupon for brunch....the service was quick, the food was delicious and the patio was lovely with a nice view and people watching. My only complaint would be the coffee...had a latte and double espresso...my latte wasn't very hot, actually was more lukewarm...and my husband's espresso was wattery and not strong enough :(
An honest review here: ambience and location were great, staff was friendly. Service was slow. My eggs Benedict also had a big chunk of egg shell in it so I told the manager. He immediately apologized and asked if there was anything else he could do for us. It was on a Groupon, so he ended up not charging us the remaining tax or tips.
Food quality was not the best and certainly not worth the full $18 price tag. Go if you have a Groupon though. One last note... I had an upset stomach right after so go at your own discretion.
My partner and I have been here 4 or 5 times now and have always enjoyed ourselves...the service is friendly and attentive - the music is always good - the tapas are tasty and the view of people enjoying biking and strolling the seawall with a backdrop of boats moored in False Creek is quintessential Vancouver.
Expect to pay a lot if you want to have a resonable dinner. I asked for some sliced baguette with my muscles and fries dish they charged me $3 for 3 pieces. The waitress was not educated at all on the menu and portion sizes very misleading. Menu is very thin for selection and over priced in my opinion. Looks like they recently over hauled the menu from what it used to be. Expect to pay a lot for tiny portions.
I had to give it a 3 star for overall experience, because it took them almost 1 hour to get our food out, which was a bit annoying because we were very hungry. The food was good, but I felt like it was not served to us right after it was cooked. When the food came, it did not feel that hot.
This nice little restaurant seated right in front of the waters is a beautiful place to dine. Whether by yourself with a good book or with friends, the owner and staff are very friendly and will try to accommodate your every need. Will definitely come back!
Wonderful start w/a healthy smoothie shooter. Brunch was simply delicious esp w/the "endless" mimosas as dictated on our coupon!
The vegetarian bennys were so good. The brie added that extra little touch. French toast had the consistency I like, which is a bit "soggy" still inside.
All in all I would definitely come back and highly commend the restaurant on their food and service.
The menu was overpriced, portions were very small and some menu items not prepared as described.
Was the main chef away that day? Who knows but they need to learn a few good dishes before they can lure me back.
Our waiter was very good and enjoyed the overall ambiance.
Great location on the seawall. Live jazz was a bonus. Tried all of the small tapas plates along with two of the medium tapas plates, ribs, mussels and fries. Fried cauliflower, calamari and mussels were exceptional. Service was spotty and inattentive, plates ordered together did not always arrive at the same time, made advance reservations but on arrival were informed patio seating was full.
The location couldn't be better for a sunny brunch by the water! Again, this was another great-value find through Groupon for a restaurant I hadn't heard of and I will definitely return. You can tell the owner/manager really cares about people having a good experience at the restaurant and was very quick to help correct an error in our order. The food was very tasty and we all enjoyed our meals. Many gluten free options for the Celiac and the bottomless mimosas are awesome!
Way overpriced. In Vancouver, any venue with the formula "tapas bar" is a sure sign for a total rip-off. No exception here. If you ever go there, be sure to eat until your stomach skin cracks BEFORE you enter. Or be ready to spend a month value of your food budget. Ex.: 4 slices of white bread: $4, a quarter of a cup of white rice noodle with 3 tiny bits of tuna: $8, 140ml of a standard red wine: $11. The sight-seeing is nice; it comes with a price.
I waited over an hour for my eggs benedict. The food was below mediocre, you'd expect hot foods if you've waited that long but nope, my English muffin was as solid as a rock - I couldn't even cut into it and my potatoes were burnt. Service was nonexistent, I had to chase servers down for drinks refill. Won't go back.
Were told when we arrived for our 630 reservation that they had another reservation at 8 pm for this table - then they took over 20 min to take our order, another 30 min to deliver our food and then reminded us we only had 5 min left when asking us if we wanted coffee or dessert - not sure why they accepted a 630 reservation if they couldn't service the table in that time.
