Ten Tables Jamaica Plain
Serving sizes were small and pricy. Tables were small. Not worth it.
Wonderfull meal! Thank you SO much! This is a restaurant we've heard about for years from neighbors and friends and have never managed to get there. We're so glad we finally made it happen. One couple we know when they try out new restaurants here in Boston and over in Cambridge will report back to us that the restaurant was good "but it wasn't Ten Tables" That says it all! Thank you for such creating and running such a lovely restaurant right here in JP!
We brought an out of town visitor because we live right around the corner and we can count on excellent food and super friendly service at Ten Tables. We shared the excellent crab cakes and then I had the vegetarian farfalle. My husband had the spicy orecchiette, and our guest had the tagliatelle with braised short ribs. Each of us was delighted with our particular home made pasta. We drank the wine recommended by our server and then, for the sheer indulgence, we split a sticky toffee cake three ways.
Tomatoes in the caprese salad were ice cold; they had been refrigerated, so no flavor. Major faux pas. Farfalle pasta was drowning in too much red sauce. Hamburger was okay, nothing special. Key lime pie was likewise okay but nothing special.
Delicious food and impeccable service. A real treat!
Ten Tables is our local go-to for special occasions. They are fantastic
in every respect, including accommodating vegetarians.
I have to say that as a frequent diner at Ten Tables something has changed in the past year or two. The food is just not as delicious as it used to be. There also seems to be a variant of a spicy red tomato sauce that seems to be in everything I order these days; it is something I can make myself, thank you! I'll give Ten Tables a break for a while and hopefully the standard of food will return to the excellent one that it used to be.
We live around the corner from Ten Tables. For fifteen years, with a variety of chefs, it has remained a cozy neighborhood gem, with excellent food and unusually friendly service. Four of us shared the excellent crab cakes and baked ricotta with grilled bread. A vegetarian option (this time farfalle with a light cream sauce and plenty of summer vegetables, is always available. Our meat eaters were thrilled with the braised lamb. The wine we chose was unavailable but the alternative suggested by staff was outstanding.
We very much enjoyed the food and service. The layout isn't for everyone as it s a bit cramped but it is also uniquely charming for the right diners.
Outstanding, from start to finish. 💜
I read lots of wonderful reviews, but I was not overly impressed. The salad (not cheap) was boring and soggy - so sad about this.
The tagiatelle was yummy, but for $30.00 I wish I got as much duck as my friend did
who ordered the same thing.
I am in no rush to go back here.
As always the food and service was great! The noise level was OK, too....we went early before it was crowded.
As seniors (with hearing loss!), we don’t like loud spots...so we avoid the very busy times.
Love TT....best neighborhood restaurant in JP!
Great service and food. Wonderful ambience!
The burger was just ok. The Osso bucco was overdone. Pasta was delicious
Ten Tables' food and service are always outstanding. If you can get in for one of their monthly wine dinners, do it - it's the best deal around for a creative and delicious 4 course meal paired with exceptional wines. I live on the other side of the city but trek to JP specifically for Ten Tables at least twice a year. It's easily my favorite restaurant in all of greater Boston.
The good is really u usual and delicious. The wine pairings were great except for the dessert wine this time, but usually they are all on point. Ten Tables is consistently excellent.
We love this place! Quirky, intimate but most of all fabulous food!
The appetizers lacked flavor but the entrees were great. Don't think the price matched the quality though.
The ac wasn’t working, we were literally sweating, the ice was melting faster than we could drink our drinks… The halibut was very dry seem like it was pre-cooked
Everything is delicious - some of the best meals I've had - & the chef happily accommodates allergies & dietary restrictions.
Recommended by our daughter who lives in JP. A local fave known for great food and atmosphere. They provided a great experience! Nice little hidden gem.
I'd remembered this place as much better. We were there on a hot night and it was uncomfortable in the main room (to be fair, it's shared with the kitchen). Some dishes were a bit melted as a result of the heat (chocolate terrine & basil ice cream in particular). Our salads were so salty that we could not eat them and sent them back (and my husband is a salt fiend, so it really says something). Waiter was lovely and brought us new ones that were fine. Burrata/brown rice/carrot dish (veggie entrée) was bland and too homogeneous in texture for my taste. Having several waiters was a bit strange but each one was lovely and generous with us.
Get together with friends from abroad whom we haven’t seen in many years. This was the best meal that they have had in the US! We had the tasting menu, and the party was served two different “omnivore” menus. All the dishes were great.
Outstanding food and service!
We went for the 11th anniversary of our first date and loved it! If we lived closer, we would be regulars.
Jessica was AMAZING! There are many reasons for us to revisit Ten Tables, but Jessica was hands-down the best server we have ever had. She really & truly redefined our expectations for what dining out can be. And, if you are not lucky enough to get her when you visit you will most definitely not be disappointed - everything was delicious and expertly prepared!
Had high hopes for this place but apart from the wine, everything else was disappointing.
The food was horrible - 4 courses of either pure salt or super bland put together, sloppy presentation, just unimpressive overall.
Would not recommend or ever return.
Absolutely magnificent meal. Every morsel of my lobster pasta and asparagus appetizer was perfect. The rhubarb galette with spruce ice cream was sensational. Perfect attentive service to tip it off.
We enjoyed our evening at Ten Tables. My only complaint is that the menu did not seem seasonally driven. most of the dishes felt more like Fall/Winter comfort food and I was expecting to find more summery items to choose from.
Always excellent food and the tasting menu is a great value
A wonderful international dinner with wine pairings.
Wonderful anniversary evening with a well-thought-out menu and quiet environment.
- the scallops (way over salted!)
- summer salad (very very oily)
- Other foods we ordered were: focaccia (good but very small), cheese board (good), vegetable frittatas (overspiced).
--> It's not that we don't like spicy or salty foods (we are Indian-Chinese couple). but this was too much.
Otherwise the service was good and the cocktails were good.
Quick service, the food & drinks were great! Looking forward to going back!
The food is delicious and the service is great. Great place for a date.
Perfect. We will return often.
We did the chef’s choice with wine pairing and had our hair blown back. The cauliflower and kale was especially rad.
Loved it. Food was incredible. Portions were a bit small (mine was fine as a petite woman, but my husband left hungry), could've used more food for the price and a bit more mindfulness about it from our waitress (i.e. we ordered an appetizer which was a bread with a sort of dip, there were 4 of us at the table, 3 small pieces of bread came out on the plate... I wish they were mindful enough to put a 4th piece of tiny bread on the plate).
It was intimate, thoughtful plates of delicious food, wonderful cocktails, etc. A great experience I would love to have again.
We got the Chef’s Whim tasting menu and it was not worth the 49$ they charge . Our first item was a salad with romaine lettuce and Italian dressing—quite unspectacular. Our next item was Tuna Tartar which was actually quite good. However our entree was a pork chop that simply had no flavor. Finally for dessert we had a flourless chocolate cake and a bread pudding. Both were quite good. Overall, it felt like a waste of money (with drinks and tip it ended up being upwards of $150). Would not go back or recommend.
Ten Tables' wine dinners used to find amazing congruities between wines and food, leading to a wonderful taste sensation. They haven't sustained this standard, and our recent Italian-themed wine dinner was the worst yet. The food--from so-so scallops to greasy pork rind and puréed polenta mash--was definitely disappointing. Its tastes bore no relation to the bizarre series of lackluster wines served. Wine dinners at Ten Tables appear to be a dead tradition.
