Ten Tables Jamaica Plain
The food was delicious but the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. It looked very tired and somewhat dirty. The temperature was quite chilly as well. The overall experience sort of spoiled our meal. I surely will not rush back again.
Nice meal, but tries to be fancier than it really is. Our cocktails were fine, but I've certainly had better for the steep $14. There was 80s pop music playing, which was a bit jarring for a fancy restaurant. The cauliflower fritters and gruyere dip were our favorites!
First time there ... had been referred to the restaurant by a friend ....
service was great ...our waiter "Roberto" was excellent
Food exceeded expectations
we are definitely going back ... already looking forward to it !
Excellent place with incredibly kind staff and wonderful food, would heartily recommend.
There are few restaurants that cook better than I do. Ten Tables is one of them. Bit chilly though!!!
Always a good evening when we go to Ten Tables. The quality of the food is excellent as is the service. Chef always delivers an interesting menu - one of our favorite places to go.
Went back after about 10 years and I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the experience. The Chef's board was good, although light on the toast which felt unnecessary. We ordered some small plates to share and the Cauliflower Fritters (a whopping $16) were mushy and bland- tasted like baby food. The scallops were tasty, but as a $32 we were disappointed to find only 3 on the plate. Surely a 4th scallop would have helped us feel like this was a nice dinner that was worth the hefty price tag. Waitstaff were attentive and paid attention to us and to my asking for a cocktail that was not too sweet. Overall the meal was good- but not so good that I'll be back to pay those prices for mediocre food. There are better spots in this area now.
I'd been a long-time fan of the restaurant. I did not go often as I would save it for special occasions that would be well-marked by the intimacy and amazing food the place was known for providing. This past Thursday, I returned after at least two years since my last meal at TT. Apart from the ambiance that still remains, I was entirely disappointed by the food and service.
The Prix Fix Chef's Choice Omnivore's dinner included a green salad with an uncommonly dull dressing, an unpleasantly fishy mussel dish, and poorly cooked steak and fries. The desert was fine, but by the time we were at this stage in the meal, the joy of the meal was gone.
The service was very slow at times (not because of a lax waiter, but presumably a slow cook). Between the mussels and steak, we waited close to 25 minutes. . .
I know this a pathetic First World problem, so take my review in that context. In the scheme of things, the meal was fine, it's just that compared to what I had historically recalled of Ten Tables, the experience was an unexpected disappointment.
Did the ownership change in the last year?
This restaurant used to be one of our favorites, but the past few visits did not go so well
Great spot! Atmosphere, food, and service are hard to beat.
The atmosphere was great. I love the open kitchen. Our servers were fabulous and attentive. The food was prepared differently than what we are used to but we loved it. We seldom go out of our comfort zone but we did and loved it. We will be back!
We had a great dinner and a great experience as usual for Ten Tables. Allergies at our table and no issues at all. The kitchen is very flexible and do an outstanding job.
We came here last evening to celebrate my birthday. I am so happy with the entire experience. My cocktails (called the Bartender’s Whim I believe) were created based on my tastes, she hit the head on the nail! The food was divine, every single bit of it. The service was top notch. Antonio took such good care of us and was absolutely wonderful. The service is at a very high level but didn’t feel stuffy. I can not wait to go back. Ten Tables made my birthday so very special.
Cool unpretentious vibe. Cozy surroundings with brick walls and open kitchen. Food was fresh, delicious, good compliment of flavors. Reasonable price points. Wait staff were warm and welcoming.
The food is delicious. The service is friendly and professional. The wines are surprisingly interesting. In a small and cozy space, Ten Tables delivers on its reputation as a neighborhood gem, and we are glad to live in its neighborhood.
Best meal of our vacation by far. So glad we tried it.
Thank you once again for another great meal and lovely evening at your great restaurant!
Sunday supper prix fix menu is a great way to explore this gem of a restaurant
So cozy, perfect little neighborhood spot. We really enjoyed our dinner and the service!
service was excellent. they had some fancy cocktails that were just a little too weak and sweet for me. the ambiance was romantic but casual, definitely could go in wearing jeans. we ordered the cheese board, salmon and side beets. the salmon was so wonderfully flaky, the cheese was good but I was disappointed we couldn't choose the cheeses and the beets were refreshing! overall I would recommend for anyone looking for a nice evening out looking to spend maybe $60-$75 for two people.
I would recommend it to certain friends. I found it to be very noisy.
We had the Chef’s whim 4 course tasting menu. All the choices were fabulous and they avoided cilantro for my husband (since it tastes like soap to him). Waitstaff always lovely. Drinks were perfect. A lovely date night
This restaurant had been talked up to me for so long and I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately for how expensive the menu was, I found the food lacking the depth of flavor and finesse that the reviews I read indicated. I would maybe try it again since, like I mentioned, I’d heard great things about this place. Maybe it was an off night or they were trying something new with the menu.
Very pleasant neighborhood restaurant. a lovely friendly evening, easy to converse.
Overpriced. $15 for ok sort of fried cheesy cauliflower fritters. Steak frites in odd sauce, really not good. Tagliatelle pasta that was tasty but no veggies, no salad so big bowl of creamy pasta becomes too much, overwhelming Key lime pie should be tart. Theirs was too sweet...I thought 10 tables was inventive, curious, daring. A farm to table using seasons fresh veggies and herbs. Sadly, no. It's become stale with barely a pulse of originality.
Food, service and ambience were wonderful, just a tad noisy. Only negative was that salad billed as "plate to share" was tiny and I'm a person who prefers small portions.
Serving sizes were small and pricy. Tables were small. Not worth it.
Wonderfull meal! Thank you SO much! This is a restaurant we've heard about for years from neighbors and friends and have never managed to get there. We're so glad we finally made it happen. One couple we know when they try out new restaurants here in Boston and over in Cambridge will report back to us that the restaurant was good "but it wasn't Ten Tables" That says it all! Thank you for such creating and running such a lovely restaurant right here in JP!
We brought an out of town visitor because we live right around the corner and we can count on excellent food and super friendly service at Ten Tables. We shared the excellent crab cakes and then I had the vegetarian farfalle. My husband had the spicy orecchiette, and our guest had the tagliatelle with braised short ribs. Each of us was delighted with our particular home made pasta. We drank the wine recommended by our server and then, for the sheer indulgence, we split a sticky toffee cake three ways.
Tomatoes in the caprese salad were ice cold; they had been refrigerated, so no flavor. Major faux pas. Farfalle pasta was drowning in too much red sauce. Hamburger was okay, nothing special. Key lime pie was likewise okay but nothing special.
Delicious food and impeccable service. A real treat!
Ten Tables is our local go-to for special occasions. They are fantastic
in every respect, including accommodating vegetarians.
I have to say that as a frequent diner at Ten Tables something has changed in the past year or two. The food is just not as delicious as it used to be. There also seems to be a variant of a spicy red tomato sauce that seems to be in everything I order these days; it is something I can make myself, thank you! I'll give Ten Tables a break for a while and hopefully the standard of food will return to the excellent one that it used to be.
We live around the corner from Ten Tables. For fifteen years, with a variety of chefs, it has remained a cozy neighborhood gem, with excellent food and unusually friendly service. Four of us shared the excellent crab cakes and baked ricotta with grilled bread. A vegetarian option (this time farfalle with a light cream sauce and plenty of summer vegetables, is always available. Our meat eaters were thrilled with the braised lamb. The wine we chose was unavailable but the alternative suggested by staff was outstanding.
We very much enjoyed the food and service. The layout isn't for everyone as it s a bit cramped but it is also uniquely charming for the right diners.
Outstanding, from start to finish. 💜
I read lots of wonderful reviews, but I was not overly impressed. The salad (not cheap) was boring and soggy - so sad about this.
The tagiatelle was yummy, but for $30.00 I wish I got as much duck as my friend did
who ordered the same thing.
I am in no rush to go back here.
As always the food and service was great! The noise level was OK, too....we went early before it was crowded.
As seniors (with hearing loss!), we don’t like loud spots...so we avoid the very busy times.
Love TT....best neighborhood restaurant in JP!
Great service and food. Wonderful ambience!
The burger was just ok. The Osso bucco was overdone. Pasta was delicious
