We had, as usual, a wonderful dinner at this charming JP restaurant. We very much appreciated the willingness of the staff to honor our reservation even after we had become unavoidably delayed. The server and the kitchen deftly dealt with the food allergies of one of our diners. The noise level was a little high, thanks to a customer at another table with a booming voice and laugh— a situation that resolved itself when he was eating!

There was only one server who also bartended which meant he was run ragged. It was also hot as can be inside. Only one side of restaurant seemed to have AC - windows open onto Centre Street let in heat/humidity and lots of traffic noise. Food was delicious, thankfully!

The ceviche appetizer and cocktails were very delicious and generally well-priced. The mains were just okay, especially given the price point. Our server was there when we needed him to be, but didn't check-in otherwise. In summary, the value was the main problem for us. If we were spending almost $150 for two people, we were expecting an exceptional meal with great service, but instead, we got an average meal that we could've gotten for half the price elsewhere. The 7% back-of-house appreciation fee + the expectation to leave an additional tip was a bit surprising, especially given that the pricing on menu items was already high.

Server was great, however the food seems to be fairly basic for a high price. The wine list was decent but not very exciting. Price was not commensurate with quality. The fact that the AC was apparently broken and it was 85 degrees when we got there was pretty annoying. It would have been nice to have heard about it ahead of time so that we could have all dressed accordingly or weighed canceling the reservation. They are clearly trying to pass off a middling restaurant as fine dining. Probably not going to be going back which is sad because we’d been looking forward to eating there for a few years.

Ten Tables is a hidden gem in Jamaica Plain. We each ordered different courses; they arrived all together, each cooked to perfection. A short selection of excellent wines. Outstanding food, excellent service and not too noisy so we could catch up with old friends. A perfect evening!

The food was excellent The waiter was friendly and was able to give us good wine pairings, However, the wine list was minimalist. The decor could use an upgrade.If you don't mind the last tow, overall it was a very nice experience.
