Ten Prime Steak & Sushi - Providence Ratings and Reviews
Food is overpriced and portions are extremely small. Ordered filet prime 10...menu said it came with mashed potatoes and when it was served I asked the waitress where the mashed potatoes were. To my surprise she said that it was a "mashed potatoes puree" aka mashed potato sauce. Maybe I'm a little old fashioned or not foody enough, but when I order a $50 steak I would prefer a nice mashed potato on the side, not a " mashed potato sauce". My wife's sushi also was the same quality as any other sushi restaurant, but triple the price. Won't be going back, plenty of other places that are much better, especially for the money spent.
Everything about this restaurant was great, in fact I think it will become our go to restaurant when in Providence. The food was very tasty, we had the Tataki Maki roll which was excellent, the grilled sushi sandwich roll which was good and different, but it didn't seem like there was much fish in it compared to rice, and the Filet Ten Steak which was outstanding. We also had the Grand Marnier Creme Brulee and Banana Bread pudding which were both delish, in fact my husband declared the Creme Brulee the best he's ever had. The menu is a little pricey, but no complaints since everything was great including our waiter Eric who gave great suggestions and was very attentive but not overly in our face.
Ten Prime Steak & Sushi is my new favorite restaurant. Everything was so delicious. It was my mother's birthday and they treated us like royalty. We got a fantastic table in the front window right in the corner, and a special dessert. Since visiting 10, I've told everyone who will listen that they should go. The Crunchy Munchie sushi roll was unbelievable and I want to live off their bacon mac and cheese it was so delicious. The creme brulee is not to be missed and comes with a large portion of cotton candy! What a surprise! Everything was perfect, and it's a great spot for special occasions.
After looking at their website and menu, I've discovered they also have a lunch menu and a bar menu with similar offerings to their dinner menu but at a cheaper price. There truly is something for everyone here. Make the trip if you haven't yet!
We had the most attentive waiter in Johnny and enjoyed spending time at his table. My husband and I stayed at a nearby hotel and Ten Prime was recommended. Johnny was at our table just enough and knew when we needed something. The food was simply amazing. The creme brulee was hands down the best I've eaten ever. Smooth and perfect consistency. The steak and fish were perfectly done with healthy and creative sides. The sushi was good but not to die for. Ok to eat but I highly recommend the noon-sushi items which will not disappoint. A little loud so not a place for a quiet date but the atmosphere is fun and great for people watching!
Booking for our 39th wedding anniversary I asked for the most romantic table they had. We were seated in a booth near the back with curtains that could partially obscure the table from view. Perfect. My pre-dinner cocktail (Vodka martini) came with hand-stuffed Bleu cheese olives. Delicious. I had the Wagyu Flat Iron steak cooked rare-plus (to my liking) and my husband had the lamb chops (rare). We shared the Death by Butter Smashed potatoes and the sautéed spinach. Everything was superb. The red wine (Decoy Cabernet) was a good choice to go with the steak. We finished with the apple dessert which was fresh and not too sweet. Our server was more than helpful and most pleasant. Our anniversary celebration at 10 was a 10!
This was our first time to Ten and we went for my boyfriend’s birthday. Everthing was phenomenal. Our server, Erik, was lovely, knowledgeable and suggested a fantastic bottle of wine. He was so attentive and spot on with his recommendations. He even presented us with a birthday plate and ice cream even though we didn’t order dessert. Definitely the place to go for dinner while in Providence. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back next time we are in town.
Took my wife and daughter here last evening for wife’s birthday. Free valet service provided. Warmly greeted by host/hostess who knew of occasion and provided window table with birthday centerpiece which was nice touch. Server was James who was both knowledgeable of the menu, specials and extremely proficient. James was also assisted by John (Ohio) a student at J&W who had a warm and outgoing personality throughout the evening. Cocktails were very good and the sushi specials offered last evening were fresh and delicious. Entrees were N.Y. sirloin steak for daughter, the same for dad but Oscar style with crabmeat and bernaise sauce. The birthday girl had a 2 lb. baked stuffed lobster. All dishes were very good but for a $50 steak, I expected it to melt in my mouth which it did not. Desserts consisted of a warm oatmeal apple crisp with maple syrup and 2 chocolate soufflés which were extremely light and baked perfectly with a creamer anglaise. The only problem I had was when ordering desserts, the server advised us after the meal that the soufflé would take an additional twenty-five minutes....we were in no rush but I would recommend that the servers notify the table in the future ahead of time, if attending play or evening event.
On the whole I would recommend this restaurant with its very lively and upbeat vibe.
Decent food but tedious dining experience. Had to ask repeatedly for water and ice tea to be refilled. Waitress never asked if we wanted more wine during the meal, and simply brought the bill at the end without asking if we were done. Amazing to think how much money that laziness costs the restaurant. Disappointed that our hotel recommended this place.
We had four kinds of sushi: eel, spider, sandwich and California. They were all good. The sandwich sushi has changed dramatically over the years. The portion is significantly smaller and far less toasting. The California roll had just a tiny amount of crab. The eel and spider sushi were terrific. The steaks were great.
The side of buffalo cauliflower was delicious.
The best meal we have enjoyed in a very long time in Providence. We dined at the Capital Grill the next night and it wasn't half as good. We enjoyed the food and exemplary service so much we made a reservation to return tonight!!
The Alaskan King crab was perfectly tender, and the steaks and sushi were delicious. The waiter( Ben) was an exceptional server.
This was our first time here and we absolutely loved it! We will definitely return! The service was amazing (our waiter was so much and made sure we were well taken care of!) and the food was outstanding!!!! My husband can't stop talking about the food! Overall great experience!
This was a wonderful experience. The food-fabulous! The staff and our server-fabulous! I am also a "neat freak" and this passed all my requirements; the bathroom was lovely and clean, the entire restaurant was neat and up to date. Great care is taken with all the ambiance and amenities. This was for a special occasion and we were treated so wonderfully. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and everyone should experience this delight.
We always have fun and wonderful food at Ten...I was accompanied by my wife, 92-year old mother-in-law, daughter and 2 grandchildren. Not one of us ordered exactly off the menu as is par for the course with these foodies! The restaurant accommodated the myriad special orders without a blink...all was served perfectly cooked! Kudos to Harrison, the manager, Jamie, our server and to the entire kitchen staff...a truly lovely lunch!
This is our second visit to 10Prime. I was really looking forward to returning because we had an awesome experience our first time. There were many issues this time. I was served a completely different drink than the one I ordered and when I told my waiter he sniffed it and looked as if he was going to sample it to see if I was wrong..he then concurred it was wrong and got me a new drink. We ordered an appetizer which came quickly but then our sushi and filet came about 40 minutes later. A couple that arrived after us, left before we had even gotten served. The food was not as outstanding as before...sushi was OK and filet looked pitiful for the high price point. We are foodies and eat out 2-3 times a week; this is not the experience I was anticipating.
One of our favorite spots in Providence. Amazing Sushi, great apps and awesome entrees
We always request Johnny as our server, he is a complete professional - one of the best ever on our all time serve list.
Great for light meals; sushi and apps or full blown dinner.
I couldn't have been more please with my experience at this restaurant. The host (John) had he champagne on ice like I had asked for my wife that just had our first baby 7 weeks ago. It was her 31st birthday and she hadn't had champagne in almost a year. The time had come... our server was a very sweet dark haired woman that knew he menu inside and out and got along great with my wife. The specials were amazing, one filet special and one sushi special. Three more delicious rolls and we were stuffed just enough to split the lava cake and a couple cappuccinos to finish off the night. We will most likely be coming to this restaurant on a regular basis now. I am a creature of habit.
Our meals were outstanding, as was the service. The tataki sushi roll was superb. The special sushi, done with softshell crab, was just as good. Our friend's meatloaf -- best ever! We will definitely be back for that. The "Death By Butter" potatoes really ARE to die for, and our filets, done Oscar style, were perfectly cooked, and included a generous topping of the Oscar style ingredients. I have been to some restaurants where you get one lump of crab meat and a drizzle of hollandaise. We shared the banana bread pudding, which was definitely worth the calories. I ordered the Charred Grapefruit Mojito, a wonderful twist on a great standard cocktail. Our waiter, John, was very attentive, very personable, and looked after the needs our lactose-intolerant friend. He really took good care of us. One minor quibble: my husband and I both wished the asparagus hadn't been chopped and mixed with the crab and hollandaise, but rather that it had been kept whole. Next time we'll ask that it be put on the side. Well worth the drive into Providence, and the expense!
Though I was disappointed that the menu at the restaurant did not correspond to the one posted on-line, I was definitely thrilled with the impeccable service we received. The décor was wonderful. The food was absolutely fantastic from appetizers to main dish, with some creative takes on traditional cuisine (highly recommend the platter of skewers). Would definitely recommend to friends, with the caveat that it will not be a cheap night by any means (especially if you want steak).
