Ten Prime Steak & Sushi - Providence Ratings and Reviews
Had a great dinner, sushi was awesome as were our steaks. Less impressed with the Brussels sprouts- they were deep fried??? Why would you do that? Also thought the portions for the side dishes has shrunk... had sriracha cauliflower which was good, but not generous. Bacon Mac & cheese was delicious.
This restaurant has great food and great service. However, the prices of their steaks, sushi and side dishes are very expensive. The remaining food items are about 25% more than you can find elsewhere. The bar is great. Tables in the dining room are hit or miss. The tables for two are too small in my opinion given the price of the food and quality of service. Try and get a "4 seater" if available.
The servers were lovely, however the food (or lack there of) was nothing more from an amateur kitchen. The price was astounding and bread not even included on the table which was needed when I couldn’t tolerate the salty stuffing (dry, uncooked breadcrumbs on my stuffed lobster). No sides on my husbands 65.00 surf and turf. We will not be visiting again.
We arrived within 5 minutes of our reservation time and the line for valet parking was at least 5 deep, but valet man got to us immediately and we were in the door immediately.once inside the hostess was fantastic getting our coats checked and to our table in timely fashion. We were seated in the back room which was ok but, we would have rather been out in main dining, bar area where things were much more lively, and probably where the rest of our servers tables were. The room we were seated appears to be perfect for a small party, etc. My girlfriend and I don't drink alcohol but, that doesn't mean we don't like to have fun, (or leave a good tip). It seemed to me ( & could definitely just be me) that when we both ordered Cokes we kind of got put on the "pay no mind" list of our server. It was nothing major but, we felt a bit neglected a couple of times but, overall he was a good, attentive server. We had calamari, sushi, and lamb chops, everything was absolutely PERFECT! Every bite of all food was enjoyable and delicious, hats off Chef! Overall it was a very nice dinner and night out with my girlfriend! We will definitely return (and ask to be seated in main area), and would recommend to anyone who likes top notch food.
Started off fine, but I should have asked if the steak was prime or choice (I think it was the latter.) Also, the chocolate souffle came out deflated, and would have sent it back but we had been waiting so long we just wanted to get things over with by that time. Our waiter, John, was clearly over-worked, or not organized, not sure. They were also out of the wine I ordered, really? Please take it off the menu then please. Overall, fine, but not really compelling to return.
It was our first night out after having our first child so we were very excited to try 10 Prime out. It took about 12 minutes to even get a drink and the tables were in top of each other, literally rubbing elbows with the patrons next to us. Food was excellent, not sure if I would return
Ten Prime is our favorite restaurant before PPAC shows. The food is consistently very good (we love the sushi) with top notch attentive service without being over the top. They always make sure we have enough time to get to the show! The experience here is always positive!
This place was awesome. My husband and I spent our 10th anniversary here and it was delicious. I had the goat cheese salad and prime 10 filet mignon w/ Gorgonzola sauce and my husband had the rainbow sushi dish and veal porterhouse w/ duck fat brussel sprouts. It was all amazing. Our table was intimate and we were able to take our time because it wasn't busy.
I can't wait to go back!
My party of 4 enjoyed the food at 10 Prime very much - both the Steaks and the Sushi - but the service left much to be desired. The sauces for your Party of Skewers arrived so late that we'd already eaten the skewers by the time they arrived - same thing with the coffees designed to accompany the desserts. In addition, we were seated at a table where we got a gust of cold wind every time the door opened, even though there were ample empty table in more protected places - though they did move us when we requested it. The bar scene looked fun - we were there on a Saturday early evening and there were 20-30 young people enjoying drinks. If you go for the food - which was excellent - you may want to remind your waiter to bring all the parts of each course of the meal at the same time.
Nice ambiance and although we had what should have been a good table in that it was a private booth with curtains to the side, the view we had was of the work station where dishes and glasses were stacked and coffee made, including the noise of banging out old coffee grounds. The food was very good . The butternut squash gratin would have been good had we been able to eat it. It came cold. We sent it back and by the time it came back, it was still just warm and the rest of the meal had been eaten. The server, Johnnie, was initially at our table constantly almost to the point of being annoying. As it got busier, we barely saw him and had to wait for quite some time. Also annoying....
We had so much at our dinner out with my husband’s family! What a great menu! We are from New York City so we all love sushi but his mother and her boyfriend are new to sushi! Our server John had great recommendations and everything was spot on. We ordered the yacht and it was so much fun to share giant platters of sushi with your family! Also they loved the scallops and the New York Strip was incredible! We made a reservation a month in advance because we had a party of 8.
Ten Prime Steak and Sushi has been a favorite of mine and my husbands for years! Their food is to die for, their staff are second to none, and their atmosphere is super fun. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great evening with phenomenal food!
Food is overpriced and portions are extremely small. Ordered filet prime 10...menu said it came with mashed potatoes and when it was served I asked the waitress where the mashed potatoes were. To my surprise she said that it was a "mashed potatoes puree" aka mashed potato sauce. Maybe I'm a little old fashioned or not foody enough, but when I order a $50 steak I would prefer a nice mashed potato on the side, not a " mashed potato sauce". My wife's sushi also was the same quality as any other sushi restaurant, but triple the price. Won't be going back, plenty of other places that are much better, especially for the money spent.
Everything about this restaurant was great, in fact I think it will become our go to restaurant when in Providence. The food was very tasty, we had the Tataki Maki roll which was excellent, the grilled sushi sandwich roll which was good and different, but it didn't seem like there was much fish in it compared to rice, and the Filet Ten Steak which was outstanding. We also had the Grand Marnier Creme Brulee and Banana Bread pudding which were both delish, in fact my husband declared the Creme Brulee the best he's ever had. The menu is a little pricey, but no complaints since everything was great including our waiter Eric who gave great suggestions and was very attentive but not overly in our face.
Ten Prime Steak & Sushi is my new favorite restaurant. Everything was so delicious. It was my mother's birthday and they treated us like royalty. We got a fantastic table in the front window right in the corner, and a special dessert. Since visiting 10, I've told everyone who will listen that they should go. The Crunchy Munchie sushi roll was unbelievable and I want to live off their bacon mac and cheese it was so delicious. The creme brulee is not to be missed and comes with a large portion of cotton candy! What a surprise! Everything was perfect, and it's a great spot for special occasions.
After looking at their website and menu, I've discovered they also have a lunch menu and a bar menu with similar offerings to their dinner menu but at a cheaper price. There truly is something for everyone here. Make the trip if you haven't yet!
We had the most attentive waiter in Johnny and enjoyed spending time at his table. My husband and I stayed at a nearby hotel and Ten Prime was recommended. Johnny was at our table just enough and knew when we needed something. The food was simply amazing. The creme brulee was hands down the best I've eaten ever. Smooth and perfect consistency. The steak and fish were perfectly done with healthy and creative sides. The sushi was good but not to die for. Ok to eat but I highly recommend the noon-sushi items which will not disappoint. A little loud so not a place for a quiet date but the atmosphere is fun and great for people watching!
Booking for our 39th wedding anniversary I asked for the most romantic table they had. We were seated in a booth near the back with curtains that could partially obscure the table from view. Perfect. My pre-dinner cocktail (Vodka martini) came with hand-stuffed Bleu cheese olives. Delicious. I had the Wagyu Flat Iron steak cooked rare-plus (to my liking) and my husband had the lamb chops (rare). We shared the Death by Butter Smashed potatoes and the sautéed spinach. Everything was superb. The red wine (Decoy Cabernet) was a good choice to go with the steak. We finished with the apple dessert which was fresh and not too sweet. Our server was more than helpful and most pleasant. Our anniversary celebration at 10 was a 10!
This was our first time to Ten and we went for my boyfriend’s birthday. Everthing was phenomenal. Our server, Erik, was lovely, knowledgeable and suggested a fantastic bottle of wine. He was so attentive and spot on with his recommendations. He even presented us with a birthday plate and ice cream even though we didn’t order dessert. Definitely the place to go for dinner while in Providence. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back next time we are in town.
Took my wife and daughter here last evening for wife’s birthday. Free valet service provided. Warmly greeted by host/hostess who knew of occasion and provided window table with birthday centerpiece which was nice touch. Server was James who was both knowledgeable of the menu, specials and extremely proficient. James was also assisted by John (Ohio) a student at J&W who had a warm and outgoing personality throughout the evening. Cocktails were very good and the sushi specials offered last evening were fresh and delicious. Entrees were N.Y. sirloin steak for daughter, the same for dad but Oscar style with crabmeat and bernaise sauce. The birthday girl had a 2 lb. baked stuffed lobster. All dishes were very good but for a $50 steak, I expected it to melt in my mouth which it did not. Desserts consisted of a warm oatmeal apple crisp with maple syrup and 2 chocolate soufflés which were extremely light and baked perfectly with a creamer anglaise. The only problem I had was when ordering desserts, the server advised us after the meal that the soufflé would take an additional twenty-five minutes....we were in no rush but I would recommend that the servers notify the table in the future ahead of time, if attending play or evening event.
On the whole I would recommend this restaurant with its very lively and upbeat vibe.
Decent food but tedious dining experience. Had to ask repeatedly for water and ice tea to be refilled. Waitress never asked if we wanted more wine during the meal, and simply brought the bill at the end without asking if we were done. Amazing to think how much money that laziness costs the restaurant. Disappointed that our hotel recommended this place.
We had four kinds of sushi: eel, spider, sandwich and California. They were all good. The sandwich sushi has changed dramatically over the years. The portion is significantly smaller and far less toasting. The California roll had just a tiny amount of crab. The eel and spider sushi were terrific. The steaks were great.
The side of buffalo cauliflower was delicious.
The best meal we have enjoyed in a very long time in Providence. We dined at the Capital Grill the next night and it wasn't half as good. We enjoyed the food and exemplary service so much we made a reservation to return tonight!!
The Alaskan King crab was perfectly tender, and the steaks and sushi were delicious. The waiter( Ben) was an exceptional server.
