Ten Prime Steak & Sushi - Providence Ratings and Reviews
Hardly ever write reviews, but these guys hit it out of the park! Late reservation yet delightful table, great welcome in crowded atmosphere, absolutely super service - humor, delightful - whole package. Oh, and the food and drinks- spot on! Charred grapefruit mojitos- who thinks of this stuff - hard to cut myself off... we will be back!!
Food was good, but very slow service in a restaurant that only appeared moderately busy. We were apologized to a few times for the wait by the waiter, but a manager comping a portion of our order or a round of drinks while we waited would've been more sincere
Not worth the money. I ordered $45 filet mignon medium rare and instead was served and overcooked hockey puck. They fixed it but it took 30
Minutes and they took my side order of spinach with my overcooked meat and failed to send back new spinach. They did not attempt offer anything to make up for the screw uo
We were seated in the back room, which disappointed my date, as she wanted to be "out where the action was". But I liked the quietness of the back room. However, it was too brightly lit, but our waitress turned down the lights a bit. We were in the corner, and there was an AC unit on the wall blowing cold air on us and the table next to us. It's the middle of February so it was far from hot out, but we were told that the room gets hot due to its proximity to the kitchen. It didn't bother me too much, as I was wearing a sweater but the folks at the table next to us were getting cold. The service was good, as was the food, although it took a little while for it to come out since it was a busy Saturday night. The food was good as well - I had the seared tuna entree and my date had the prime roll. We finished with the creme brulee dessert, which comes with cotton candy - that was an interesting and not unwelcome addition. The meal was little pricey, but good overall.
The food was all done very well and the cocktails were decent. Unfortunately, it felt like we were being rushed by the waitress, but that isn't to say that she did a poor job; it was very busy, but we expected a bit more of a relaxed dinner than we got. The restaurant architecture/decor/ambiance... Oh boy. The restrooms seem like something you would find in a public area - sticky floors, faucet handles not secured to the counters, etc - and the rest of the place was very hodge podge and somewhat beaten up. Not at all what I expected from a pricey steakhouse. In the end, the food was what we went there for and it was successful, but we likely won't be going back.
Sat at the bar for dinner. Never having been there, we were hoping for some insight into the menu. The bar staff did not know the menu well, had no interest in finding the right information and were not friendly at all. They didn't know the wine list very well either. The food was decent and the atmosphere was pleasant, but with so many fabulous choices with attentive bartenders in Providence, I doubt we'll be in a rush to go back.
the food was outstanding. i am not a steak eater. ate an 8 oz filet prepared with the diane topping. it was outta this world. calamari was of the best around. tuna roll was good. chopped salad was good, but not much room left for it!! never had a bad meal there. absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in providence. not cheap tho..........
We've eaten at Ten Prime a number of times. This was the final night of restaurant week. Two members of our party ordered the sushi special, and two the filet. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The filets were were prepared as ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. Our server was excellent. Only complaint is that there are times when we've dined there that the music was just too loud for diners. I'd recommend Ten Prime.
New Year's Eve dinner. I Have been to 10 numerous times for dinner and absolutely loved it and always had great experiences. Something was definitely off, the service was mediocre at best and the food was not as good as it used to be. I had a filet and it was slightly tough and ordered a side of spinach that came out late into us eating dinner and it was cold. We had to remind the waitress to get out drinks. Hoping they were just having an off night and the place isn't going down hill.
My wife and I tried 10 Prime for our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. Melinda at the bar crafted me a perfect martini, just how I like them and I am pretty particular. My wife had a lychee martini that was perfect as well. We decided to start with a sushi roll and it was easily the best damn roll we have ever had. It was the crunchy munchy roll and it escapes description of crunch and flavor. Very well done and in great proportions. For dinner it was death by butter potatoes and a Pittsburgh style rib eye steak. Steak was perfectly charred and seasoned nicely. The potatoes were to die for and compliments of our server David who gave us the recommendation. The meal was paced perfectly and because it was our special day we were greeted with a card from the staff and two flutes of complimentary champagne. A very nice night and the staff made it all happen. Thank you and we will certainly be back in spite of the hour drive. Next time it will be strictly a sushi fest!
This was my first time at 10 Prime & Sushi. I was there celebrating my birthday with my daughter. The decor was very nice, modern and open. The service was very good, our waitstaff was vert attentive to our needs.
The menu was very good with many choices. If you want a excellent steak look no further. My daughter had the small filet and I had the delmonico, which was recommended by our waiter. Both meals were delicious!
I was introduced to a new beer, Bengali, which was also excellent. And dessert was very tasty, chocolate lava cake. My daughter and I left the restaurant very content and full. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
Experience was unbelievable! The service was excellent far above what I thought! Johnny was superb paid attention to every detail. Pouring the wine was one of his specialties it was great experience, being from Napa California it was very well appreciated.food was excellent and if you decide to go definitely order the chocolate soufflé....believable!!!!
This is the third time we have been to Ten Prime. The food is outstanding! I always get the sushi and my husband usually gets something off the main menu. The cocktails are awesome! Our server all three times has been Johnny. He is OUTSTANDING and so makes our experience there all that more special!
What a great experience! We were seated properly and a quiet booth in the rear, per our request. Our waiter, Johnny, couldn't have been more friendly or professional. After salads, we ordered the bone in ribeye, the Delmonico, and the meatloaf, all of which were delicious. We even stayed for dessert, which is unusual for us but well worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
