Ten Mercer Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated our anniversary with a Performance of the nutcracker as well as a romantic dinner with just the two of us. The restaurant is walking distance from the McCall hall and the food was amazing with prices you can afford. The steak tenderloin was just as good as El gauchos, yet less expensive. The food was cooked to perfection. It was perfect!
We have loved coming to 10 Mercer for many years, before or after the theatre or ballet, etc. Our experiences have always been good... delicious food from a small but delightful menu, excellent service, great wines! I enjoy bringing new friends to 10 Mercer, too! They always want to come back.
Love this place. The ambiance is classy and the food is always first-class, fresh and sophisticated. Noise level low enough where you can actually have a conversation, and the surroundings are esthetically pleasing but not flashy. The tables are arranged on several levels around a central atrium with the bar at the bottom. Focus is on good food and conversation in a welcoming setting. Perfect if you like that. Wait staff always great, accommodating and flexible.
We chose this spot for dinner because of overall favorable reviews and its proximity to the Seattle Rep, where we were seeing a show. The menu had a wide variety of good choices; wife had grouper (which I never see in the Northwest), and I had sole. Both dishes were well-prepared and flavorful.
The restaurant is modern and attractive. Tables are pretty close together, so it was a little hard not to hear other conversations. However, the overall noise level was reasonable.
We made clear that we needed to finish dining in time to walk to a play, and our server kept on schedule. Service was polite and efficient.
I won the football pool at work which included dinner for two. I also won a free night at the Mediterranean Hotel. I searched restaurants in the area and one of the employees at the hotel suggested Ten Mercer. My daughter and I made reservations and we were very impressed with the food, service and opportunity to have a conversation with quiet background music. The Mediterranean also features Ten Mercer in their guest directory and gave us tickets for free appetizers. I look forward to returning when I am in the area again.
It seemed promising at first, the server told us we needed to order by a certain time as everyone in the restaurant was also going to a 7:30 pm show. We ordered immediately. It took about 30-40" for the food to arrive, but we were fine time-wise. We were finished by 7 pm, which is when I had said we needed to leave by. Then it took the server 10+ minutes to bring the check, and then to return with the credit cards, no explanation for why it took so long. We ended up leaving closer to 7:15 than the requested 7 pm.
Food was only okay. We split a salad, which was very small - it said it had roasted pears, and that was two teeny slices of cold pear.
I ordered the steelhead on the server's recommendation, and it was gummy, not very flavorful - I think it had been frozen, or possibly pre-grilled then heated up again. Anyways, certainly not worth $30.
You can't beat the location if you're attending a performance at Seattle Center, but the food and service were not up to Seattle standards.
Went with my girlfriend prior to a show at McCaw. Seated quickly (with reservation) and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. She gave good wine recommendations for our dinners, and helped us sort out what dishes contained dairy ingredients, which my girlfriend cannot have. We both had fish, and our dishes were excellent, fresh, and contained a satisfying portion of food. I would definitely consider coming to this place again, and recommend it.
Went here before a concert at Key Arena (walking distance) after just randomly choosing a restaurant. Wow. The restaurant is kind of nondescipt but the food here is outstanding. Started with the cheese plate which was presented beautifully. Then had the chicken main course. Juicy, succulent, mouth watering, and seasoned to perfection. I was floored. Best chicken I've ever had at a restaurant. The dessert was equally delicious. Service was attentive without being annoying. Nice wine list too. There is also the most stunning view of the Space Needle. All in all, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Loved it!!!
Service was slow even though at 6 on a Saturday the restaurant was not busy. Food was good but not memorable, avoid the mashed garlic potatoes as both of ours were dry. Good for pre theatre due to location but not otherwise a destination restaurant in our opinion.
I never send a meal back, but I didn't send back my Opah. Our server Bret, was very quick to offer something else to replace it. While I waited he brought a salad for me that I enjoyed until my replaced meal came that was fantastic! Thanks to a great server to turn a bad experience into again an enjoyable time.
Ten Mercer was delicious, as it has been every time. I appreciate that a vegetarian option is available during Seattle Restaurant Week. The service is attentive & friendly. Although Ten Mercer is on busy Mercer Street (hence the name), the ambiance is conducive to having a conversation.
