TEN Ratings and Reviews
Overall it was a very nice dining experience. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant, but we had a relatively early reservation of 6:45 p.m. The traffic started picking up towards the end of our dinner. The bar, however, was pretty full and a band was starting to set up as we left. We did have a cocktail in the bar both before our dinner and after. It has a great atmosphere.
As for dinner, the menu is small, which is refreshing, but at the same time can be frustrating if you are a bit of a picky eater. Luckily I am not, but I do like a few more options than were available. In particular, all of the steak options were absolutely huge cuts and if I'm remembering correctly, not one option under $42, which, as a minimum price, is a little high for Billings. I went with the halibut option ($36) and my boyfriend had the roasted chicken ($20-something). He also started with the soup ($8), which was very good.
We both enjoyed our meals and opted for two desserts to finish off the meal since we were out for a special occasion (and we had a gift card!). We had the seasonal crème brûlée, which was brandy apple and very tasty. We also had the cherry tart. It was the seasonal special dessert. The tart was very good, but was topped with a chocolate mousse that seemed out of place on this particular dessert. It was just a weird combination and unnecessary. Also, the mousse was overly chocolatey and just not our favorite, although honestly we're not big chocolate eaters. If I were to order it again, I would ask them to substitute with some whipped cream or perhaps some vanilla ice cream. I will say the French press coffee I had with dessert was excellent!
The entire experience was lovely from the perfectly made martinis and delicious appetizers to our entres, which were unique creations. We were given plenty of time to enjoy every stage of the meal and best of all, our waiter, who was extremely personable, made our evening exceptional. Positively top-notch!
The service was exceptional. Our food was fantastic with one exception, scallops could have been cooked just a bit longer. The manager visited our table and made us feel welcome and took pictures for my birthday. Our only complaint is that there was a large group seated in the middle of the room and they were loud, which really was not your fault. I guess the people at that table didn't notice others were dining as well. They interrupted our evening. It would have been nice if there was a place where they could have been seated so everyone could have been more comfortable. Overall a very good experience and we will be back.
Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. We were there on a Monday night and it was just busy enough to be fun. Waiter Lou was perfect and the entire team gave us a signed card. Very sweet touch. Also, brought us a great slice of chocolate cake. Hope to travel through Billings again soon!
My wife and I were going to see Bonnie Raitt at 7 p.m. We'd made reservations for 5 p.m. because we were staying in the hotel and wanted to relax before the concert.
The serving staff in TEN were inattentive, at best. After half an hour in our seats we had to ask for a bread basket, and it took at least 10 minutes to arrive. Also had to ask for refills on our water and Iced tea throughout the meal.
My wife's tenderloin and chips were delicious - the meat cooked to her desires and the chips fresh and crispy. My appetizer of crab cake was good. The corn and parsnip soup, however, tasted like warm milk. Very bland.
Work on your service procedures and make a better soup.
As usual, our food was wonderful! I've never been disappointed by Ten Restaurant or The Northern Hotel. Together they have an amazing weekend get-away. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful in explaining the menu and making suggestions for our dinner. The wine list is incredible! The waitress, Maddie (I think) even boxed our leftovers and saved them in the kitchen's refrigerator as we were there for a long weekend. I highly recommend the 'Ten Experience'!
As soon as you walk through the doors, the staff was ready to great you and get you seated. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. The chef even came out to greet us and asked if he could answer any questions we may have had. After we finished eating, he came back out and asked about our meal. I love that! Thank you for the great experience TEN!
This was our first time to TEN. Everything was very good. The service, food and atmosphere. However, I do feel it is overpriced. I got the Filet Mignon. It came with a 6 oz Filet and 1/2 a loaded, twice baked potato and it was $40.00. It could have at least been a whole twice baked potato. If we wanted salad or soup it was extra. The food was amazing, just a bit too pricey for what you get.
The food was excellent, the chartuche appetizer had some great choices. The beef was well cooked and seasoned. At the end they offered my dad a complimentary dessert for his birthday, unfortunately we were unable to try it as we had already eaten too much. The server was very accommodating and double-checked that the cheeses were pasteurized due to health concerns. And at the end my dad received a card for his birthday which was a nice touch. Great place to eat in Billings.
This place is AMAZING. Normally I'm more about the sides on my dish, but the filet mignon changed my mind! The peach cobbler was the best EVER.
Nice portions so you don't get too full and can save room for that cobbler.
Would go again in a second and order the exact same meal!!!
