Welcome to Tempura Matsui –A Michelin One Star–

Tempura Matsui invites you to experience the fine art of cooking tempura. Within a serene setting, guests have a seat at our counter or tables and can view the delicate preparation of lightly frying fresh fish and vegetables.
We only serve Omakase Dinner Course for $295 per person at 2 specific times Tuesdays through Saturdays between 5:30PM and 8PM. Open irregularly on Sundays.

Also, we serve a Lunch Course for $160 per person at 12 noon only on Fridays and Saturdays.

You may make a reservation one month ahead and any cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the reservation to avoid a $100 charge per person.

    Incredible omakase experience - food was spectacular and service impeccable - not for the faint hearted in terms of cost but it was truly a wonderful experience from a gifted chef and super attentive staff

    Tempura Matsui was the most delightful, well-orchestrated, and delectable dining experience. The sequence of tempura courses was thoughtful and complementary to each adjacent offering. This was, by far, the most exceptional tempura me and my partner (who is a tempura aficionado) has ever had. The staff was incredibly attentive, yet not intrusive, providing wonderful instructions and suggestions for each course. The setting is a welcome oasis of calming energy in a hectic city.

    I am still in awe of the entire experience. You know you are in Manhattan, but from the moment you step through the door you are in Japan. Everything was perfect from the cocktails( cherry deliciousness) to the attention to detail for my son’s birthday cake!! The presentation, quality of food and imagination in combining flavors was beyond stunning. Fish, vegetables and even the rice was perfect. We cannot wait to return. Thank you to the entire staff.
