Tempura Matsui invites you to experience the fine art of cooking tempura. Within a serene setting, guests have a seat at our counter or tables and can view the delicate preparation of lightly frying fresh fish and vegetables. Tempura Matsui is designed to emulate a Japanese cottage with warm woods, slate floors and round and square windows. A five-seat bar allows guests to wait for their seats while enjoying a glass of wine, sake or beer.

Please note our dinner menu price will change from $220 to $250 effective from March 1, 2023. Our website will introduce the new prices on the same day. Till then, you can take advantage of the old prices.

You may make a reservation one month ahead and any cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the reservation to avoid a $100 charge.

An absolute gem of a place, in an unassuming spot. Blonde wood, as is de rigueur at many Japanese places, calm and meticulous presentation. Fantastic (chef’s kiss) tempura. A lovely place to which we look forward to returning.

Very intimate space with great staff. The food was AMAZING. Great place for a date night. It is quiet and serene. The Omakase takes around 2 hours so go there to relax.

Excellent Tempura specialty place, just like you were in Japan. In a time when visiting Japan won't happen as fast as you wish for, this is where you should come and enjoy an authentic Tempura meal. You walk in with the lovely scent burning to welcome you. Spacious seating that you are not shoulder to shoulder with each other. Innovative but authentic and most importantly delicious Tempura cooked to order. You don't know what is really Tempura until you come to this place.

Tempura Matsui is without a doubt one of the best Omakase experiences ever. Everything from the ambiance, to the service, to the food itself. Everything is evident of the attention to detail and care. The location is unassuming and the seating is atmospheric. Once the two main chefs get to cooking your tempura, you are hypnotized and entranced. It’s an intimate performance. Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time. Every single recipe is carefully picked and all the instructions to eat the food in certain ways was our favorite. We will definitely visit again in the future!

What a special experience! The flavors, the textures, the presentation, the explanations, the cadence of this almost 15-course dinner, was second to none. Excellent food. Chef controlled the texture of food really good - which is really hard. Every fish or veggies needs to go in with different temperatures. They use very good and fresh raw material, not too much ingredients.

Tempura Matsui, more like Tempura Must-Go-I. Though the lunch is way better value for your dollar, the dinner is also really good. Get the Yuzu sake. What these people will tempura is unbelievable. Service is fantastic too, dinner has a higher level of service, and each group always has one person watching over them for whatever. Anytime we took a sip of the sake, in seconds a server refilled it. Overall, great dining experience.

Tempura Matsui is a special place. We’ve eaten here many times for lunch and are so happy we had the chance to have dinner. When we dined there were 8 people in the front dining room/counter space. There was also a small private dinner in the back area. We had second seating at 8:15. We might try the first seating next time if we can get a spot. I’m sure both are great, depending on if you make plans for an activity after dinner. The chefs and entire staff are so welcoming. We sat at the counter and watched the prep work and cooking. . What a perfect night. Make a reservation so you don’t miss this wonderful, memorable dining experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening
