Tempo Ratings and Reviews
the food was great, service was so-so, a little noisy. made a reservation on open table and they sat us in the bar area. wasn't up to complaining about it. the actual bar is very close to tables in bar so if you are looking to have a special dinner what with the pub like atmosphere in the bar and people standing around at the bar backing up into the tables where people are "supposed to be having dinner". It also seems that it is a "hang-out" for the locals. I'll go back for the food though.....it's great!
Tempo was centrally located for our group of 3 couples. And, the reviews we read were quite good. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the portions more than adequate. The service was excellent without being at all obtrusive. We lingered quite a while after our meal and never felt any pressure to leave.
Well done, Tempo!
Great food, awesome server, but a little turned off when i was told that I'd be charged $2 a glass ( from bartender) for sampling a wine after being told by server it was ok to ensure you get what you want even though we felt bad that after trying six and not having found the right one. Server tried to make it right by paying for the last sample. Eventually bought a bottle that was appeasing to the palette. (It was our celebration of our engagement).
Great table, waiting for us as we arrived right on time. The appetizers literally seemed to come out of the kitchen 2 minutes after we ordered. The wings were very good the steak and cheese Spring rolls were a weak copy of Davios version. they might have been more appealing had they been cut on the diagonal rather than lengthwise. The filling does not add to the appeal and was tasty but mushy consistency. The pulled pork tacos were messy but good and the truffle fries were awesome. the reviews on beet salad and burrata salad were excellent as well.
two of us ordered Ahi Tuna but cant report on that because they were out of it...The Pork Chop was marvelous a great blend of flavors on the plate from the the mac and cheese, brussels, and craisins and the red onion jam It was truly a delightful plate. The cashew crusted Cod was also outstanding with mashed sweets and miso honey. a couple of people had the Chicken which also was good but not as special as the prior mentions. Didn't have room for dessert.
Overall a very solid meal and we will continue to go back
Delicious food, made from scratch. Our appetizer was a wonderful sampler of sautéed mushrooms - I could have had a couple orders of those + bread and called it a meal. Entrees were equally good. Our cheerful server solved my dilemma of scallops vs. chicken by assuring me I could have the scallops from one entrée with the sides from the other.
We had enough room to opt for dessert. Do not be fooled by the portion size. (I thought they were a bit small at first.) Each dessert was so decadently rich, we could barely finish - but it was too good to leave any behind!
My overall experience was amazing. I would suggest not sitting in the front near the large scenic window. There was a large party and the conversations echoed. The patrons where very intoxicated and yelling swear words at each other. A few guest asked if they could have their table moved further to the back near the kitchen.
We dine here often. Consistently great food with enough creativity in the dishes to make it interesting every time. Warm, friendly service in a casual setting. There are several dishes I rotate through and daily specials that always offer a nice change of pace. Don’t miss the pork chop. A little on the noisy side, but I like the vibe.
They had our table set up early, we showed up early, had a drink at the bar, and ended up sitting right on time. Service was very good. Food was very well presented and prepared. Our group of 6 got five different dishes and three appetizers - each was very good.
Only pet-peeve was that they tacked-on service (tip) charge automatically which caused confusion when paying - and they screwed themselves because we would have given more by default. Just saying, bad practice.
We all enjoyed our meals - most of us ordered some type of fish and they had several specials to pick from in addition to the regular menu. I recognize several of the servers as having been there for years, which is nice since they know the menu and the wine.
Food was well presented and great tasting. Lots of interesting dishes to chose from. When restaurant was full noise level was high, making it hard to have a conversation. Service was fair. Food was good. Could use more staff during peak periods. Will go back.
This place is a regular goto for me. My girlfriend has food allergies and they are always very accommodating.
I try alot of other restaurants in the area, and while some impress the first time, I haven't found one besides Tempo that can keep that high quality consistency up over time.
First time there after being diagnosed with Celiac. The waiter had a gluten free menu for me. The waiter and Chef were so knowledgeable. Gluten free corn bread(fantastic)! I can't have Casein(dairy as well). They substituted a couple of things for the dish and it was yummy. I trusted their knowledge and the food was cooked to perfection!!
Tempo is one of my new favorite restaurants; i discovered it maybe 4 or 5 weeks ago and have already been 3 times. The food is simply and thoughtfully prepared, creative while still letting the true flavors of the ingredients shine through. Professional and courteous service. A gem, I highly recommend it!
This place is nice enough for a special occasion/date but casual enough where you wouldn't have to worry about feeling under dressed if you stumbled upon it. Loved the menu because it had plenty of recognizable options for my old school dad but exciting and interesting dishes/cocktails for myself. Knowledgeable and and excellent staff made for a great night.
Excellent for gluten-free options. We especially liked the beet salad and the cashew cod. The beef tips came with absolutely perfect gluten-free french fries, served hot. It's on the noisy side and just a bit pricey, but everything was perfectly cooked to our order and we left not a crumb. Convenient public parking behind the buildings across the street.
