Tempo Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We went the day before Valentine's since I had to be out of town for the Holiday. It was an outstanding experience. Food, service, everything was exceptional. If there was one minor drawback it was that the music was just a bit loud and the selection didn't fit a fine dining experience. Otherwise, it was perfect. I would go back without hesitation.
This was our first visit to Tempo. The service was excellent from the time we arrived with the hostess to the time we left. The waiter and the wait staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The waiter was great at explaining the meal.
The food was excellent!! I can't say enough about it.
I would highly recommend this place.
This is a fine dining place.
Thank you for a great experience!
Tempo is my favorite restaurant in town. The place is cool, the staff is wonderful and the foot is the best in town. It is hard to branch out from the filet due to the amazing gnocchi on the side. They should allow sides of gnocchi, I keep forgetting to ask! We had not been in a while but always enjoy coming back when we are without the kids.
Food was delicious. We had a combination of items on the menu and some of the daily special Lobster and risotto special was great. Also lamb and shrimp with risotto were well received. Delicious fish but despite reviews we forgot to ask for no added salt and it was too salty. We shared two appetizers. Iced oysters and calamari with sweet chilli sauce. Both were great. No room for dessert but the ones we saw looked good. Only downside was waiter locked out one of our credit cards by entering expiry date incorrectly three times. All in all a lovely experience. It was quite pricey
Our server Kristin took a lot of time explaining her opinion of the menu items which was very helpful. The dinner was more than a meal, it was an experience. Everyone in our party loved their meals. Everyone in the staff was very attentive. The atmosphere is elegant. My husband stated the Tempo was the best restaurant in Buffalo. We will definitely return for another food experience!
Everything was great from the moment we walked in. The hostess took our jackets and we had a seat at the bar. The bartender was prompt and took our order right away. We were about 20 min early for our reservation and the place was packed. After our 1st drink, the bartender picked up our next round because our table wasn't ready right at 8:30 which was our reservation time, but we didn't even notice as we were enjoying ourselves at the bar. Extremely nice gesture as we had no problem waiting. We finished our drinks at the bar and was directed to our table by one of the managers. I could go on and on about the service, but I'll stop with one word, exceptional. And the food, well that matched the service. Everything from start to finish was excellent and it makes me wonder why it took my wife and I so long to go back. In my opinion, it's easily the top upscale restaurant in Buffalo.
It was my son's 30th birthday so we choose this restaurant for his party. food and service was excellent. Loved being by the fireplace and was able to carry on a conversation with minimal noise. We brought our own cake and the server was more then gracious to present it on separate plates for everyone.
It was our first here. We went for our sons 25th birthday. He is a “foodie”. He had heard nothing but good comments, we had heard mixed reviews. He had the bone-in rib eye. A bit pricey, but per our son “the best rib-eye he has ever eaten”. Besides he only ate half of it, so leftovers for the next day. The appetizers were very good, I had the brazzeno fish special and my husband had the NY strip special. Both of our meals were excellent. The service was exceptional! We ordered dessert and they did not charge us for our sons. We will definitely be back. Can’t believe it has taken us so long to try it.
We were a group of six for New Years Eve. I assumed it would be busy, and it was. But we received excellent service, the food was wonderful, and we were not rushed. The stuffed veal chop was heaven. My friends loved the shrimp risotto and my husband enjoyed his swordfish.
My family of 4 had an early (5:15 PM) reservation on New Year’s Eve. This has been for years, a top favorite restaurant in Buffalo. I am surprised that this visit warrants a mediocre rating and attribute it in part to the date. We were seated on the second floor in a room that smelled slightly of mildew and was not sufficiently heated. Some of the entrees were excellent (veal chop), some were just passable (poached lobster). The server was wonderful. My advice would be to avoid on a holiday, unless guaranteed first floor seating. In addition I would ask about the popularity of any entree.
There were 4 of us for dinner on a Thursday night. We each swore we had the best dinner ordered. They were delicious. Our waiter was excellent and the rest of the wait staff were very attentive (always filled water glasses, etc). It was an expensive evening but well worth it. My only concern is the noise level. It was at times difficult to hear the person opposite you at the table. All in all, though a terrific experience and we will return!
Our first visit to TEMPO after intending to go for several years, and it was fantastic. The service, food, and ambiance were wonderful. My only complaint was our table for 2 was a bit close to the 6-top next to us, whose conversation was not something of which we wanted to be part, but felt like it anyway. Dinner for two, with cocktails and a glass of wine each, was just over $200.
This is a great fine dining restaurant with quality ingredients in the food. The starters were nice, oysters were yummy. Swordfish was well cooked, the sausage was bit overcooked, my friend took shrimp risotto which was really tasty. The wine selection is elaborate, bit pricy but good spread. Beer choices needs to improve and not available from the tap. The big drawback is there are no booth options, only table sitting. We had sent a request for corner booth, we did not know they do not offer. For people with back problems to sit on chairs, this may not be an option.
We were seated fast and our waiter was great in the beginning then he seemed to forget about us, we waited probably 10-15 min to get notice in order to get a refill on our drinks at least twice. Once our order was taken it was far and few times we were checked in on. My Lobster came out cold in some spots and and was very chewy, had we not had some place to be after eating I would have sent it back, but I didn't have another 30 min to wait for it to get fixed. Our filet mignon was very good and tender.
