   Great restaurant all around - excellent service, food and ambiance. Noise level is perfect for quiet conversations. Menu is very diversified - there is something to satisfy any palate. Desserts are great too.

   Flounder filet with crab meat and grouper topped with shrimp were excellent. Pre-entree was mussels caprese and oysters Rockefeller both excellent, especially the oysters, best of three or four places I have tried. Thank you TEMPO!

    This may seem a little repetitive but my flounder filet and my spouse's salmon were again tendar and moist... excellent!! Her calamari salad was very tender and my crab bisque was superb. Couple this with a great white wine, the dinner could not have been better.

    This was first time to return to Tempo since Covid began, but so glad to enjoy this wonderful restaurant again. The veal dish was delicious, and my companion raved over the mussels and salmon. Tempo's chef is the best!!

    A terrific choice for Mother's Day. Tempo never disappoints and is one of our favorite restaurants. It's perfect for any special occasion (or no particular occasion at all). We love the menu because it's always tough to choose when everything sounds -- and is -- so delicious. The staff always treat us like regulars even though we only get to visit every other month or so. We like the location and the atmosphere, too. Tempo Restaurant gets "five stars" from our whole family.

    Both my spouse and I had the grouper special: grouper covered in crabmeat and a white sauce. It was EXCELLENT. Couple that with first oysters Rockefeller and mussels in marinara with a bottle of white wine... Hi-Yah! We were satiated!!

    This place never disappoints us! The specials are numerous, and the "regular" dishes are also go good, that we have to decide between. And the side dishes that come with the entree are always good. And of course, the desserts are too temping, so one cannot resist (on rare occasions take home the dessert(s). The staff always so nice and attentive. Also a good wine list! And even before the before the pandemic, there was always good spacing among the tables. One of our very favorite places!

    Had the flounder filet with crab meat and spouse had salmon with scallops. Both were tender and excellent. Supporting was mussels marinara and a salad. Both excellent. Can't get better prepared fish anywhere.

    We had dinner here while on an extended trip. The food was excellent with great service. The restaurant is located in an old gas station in which the owners have done an exceptional job renovating. The table are placed with lots of privacy and with the quiet atmosphere it was very comfortable. A standout plate was the poached salmon. The wine list is also very good and reasonably priced. I would definitely dine here again.

    Had the flounder filet again while spouse had the cannoli special. Pre meal was oysters Rockefeller and mussels in tomato sauce. All were excellent, especially the cannoli and oysters. Get up and go see Tempo!

    Love this place. Food is excellent. The menus is always varied. The atmosphere is elegant casual. The only problem is when the place is busy the service is slow. Not enough waiters to cover all the tables, and we were there at 5:45. Still I will go back because the food is amazing.

    I've lived in Alexandria for over 25 years, passed this restaurant every day, and never thought to go in. I had deprived myself of an amazing experience for 25 years. The food is exceptional. The food is light and refreshing. I'm talking about the crab soup and the Caesar salad. The bread is freshly baked and you can tell, their vegetables are freshly grown. I experienced the beef loins that were topped with a pate that was just exquisite. Cooked perfectly medium rare, it melted in my mouth. They have these airy potato puffs that had a texture I can't even describe, but I didn't know a potato could feel light weight. I recommend this place, over and over again. I will be going back soon. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. PS the tiramisu is delicious!

    For the flair of the Continent with the freshness of today's "farm to table" axiom, this treasure on Duke Street fills the bill. A variety of tastes and disciplines can be catered to with the extensive but not overwhelming menu. The service is attentive but not fussy. The décor is simple but not stark and features the works of contemporary artists. The creative atmosphere continues with the food from piping hot rolls delivered to each plate by the "bread girl" (as it would in much of Europe), to appetizers through desserts. My shrimp in the salad were "done to a T" but it did mean I couldn't enjoy the marvelous soup option. Tempo's is no ordinary vegetable soup and a must-try on one of your visits. I doubt you could find an entrée that would disappoint, and the desserts are worth the calories! Wine and hot coffee and teas (they come in a treasure chest of options) can accompany, start or end your evening. The water is fresh and well chilled and your glasses are promptly refilled. A great dining experience. Be sure to put Tempo on your list of "must visit" restaurants. One word of caution: hours are not the same as many restaurants in the metropolitan area, so be sure to consult the website when deciding upon a time to experience Tempo!

    One of our favorite restaurants in Alexandria. In addition to excellent food, the staff is the best and the restaurant itself is lovely. The owners went above and beyond making it a Covid safe environment. And you have the extra bonus of a parking lot so you're not driving around the crowded streets of Old Town looking for a spot and then paying the exorbitant meter fee. A win all around!
