Temple Gourmet Chinese
Never disappoints. 10 out of 10. A+
Server opened our wine and dropped our cork on the floor.
After the server took our order, we heard her offer specials to the next table.
We were never offered specials. Service was disappointing.
Great dinner. Way beyond the norm
The servers seem to be inexperienced and leave alot to be desired.
Sizzling black pepper fillet mignon was delicious as usual. Crispy Creamy Spicy Shrimp and Fillet Mignon egg rolls for apps along with bok choi were very good as well. Chung King Beef was super tender. Everything was wonderful.
Best gluten free and non gluten free Chinese food in the area. There was no issue with being glutenized at all!! Attentive service and delicious food.
The food and service was excellent
Great service great food. EP Rumson
Good food, but servers were not polished considering menu cost.
They sitter us in the side dining room even though plenty of tables in the main room. This is also one of the few restaurants that charges a 3.5% service fee for credit card- ridiculous. I wouldn’t go back since they are petty.
Excellent restaurant. Food and service outstanding. Go there all the time.
Food was delicious but pricey for Chinese. BYOB makes it affordable.
Our server - Gentleman. He was very knowledgeable and patient with us as it was our first time frequenting this restaurant. All items he suggested where amazing! He was very courteous and polite. The
hostess was also nice and honest with the time wait which we greatly appreciated and where able to walk to a nearby bar since we where early for our reservations. I would definitely return with an enormous appetite.
My only suggestion is that they should have the disgruntled take out waiting people section in another area it leads you to believe that the table service may be lacking... when it was not at all!!
Unfortunately they could not handle their Christmas crowd.
Christmas Day dinner. Restaurant was busy but I didn’t feel rushed
Food took a very long time, but was excellent. Most expensive Chinese food anywhere around here. BS service charge for using a charge card. 3.5% that they sneak in. No one does that! Poor job there. $41 for lobster fried rice. Enjoy!
Food was delicious as always. Service great
What a perfect Christmas Eve dinner with 15 of my close family and friends. We had a great table in the back our waitress Kate and staff was attentive and friendly. It was a good value and the food was tasty and cooked to perfection. The food and service here is always good so if you have not tried it you should. We were there late and they in no way rushed us. Thanks!
We were seated at 6:15 and our entree order did not come out until 750! Clearly there is no management at this restaurant ...seens to be a bunch of people running around with no idea the food they are serving and no concept of good service. No management here and no accountability.
So if you're charging above average prices you need to incorporate better service..was very disappointing for our party of 10.Never again !
Excellent food and service, as always!!
Family get together
Waiiter Alec was great!
Always great at Temple! Food delish and service with Audrey was fantastic!
Our soups came out barely warm . We told the waiter - he brought us more soup however that too was still barely lukewarm . We ordered the steak and lobster medium - the steak came our rare . The manager has us give him the steak we cut in a bowl which he then returned to us cooked medium - very unacceptable for a$47 entree. Overall I would not recommend Temple as the quality of the food and service has clearly declined .
Our server Taylor was great! She said they were super busy, but you would never know it because service and food was amazing. The only place we get chines food is here!!
Food (entrées and apps )came out at random times
Atmosphere could use an update
We have been coming here for the past couple years and have been happy with the experiences. Tonight, we started off with 2 filet mignon egg rolls which were cold in the middle and followed by a chicken entree with severely undercooked chicken. Sending back the egg rolls one would think would encourage a visit from the manager and certainly raw chicken should have... we will chalk it up to a bad night...
This was our second visit to Temple gourmet Chinese. Both visits we were exceptionally pleased. The food is spectacular and both times our waitress Audrey was sweet and attentive. Temple is a real gem
We had not been to Temple for some time. We decided to travel and revisit this restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated in a timely manor. The place was packed. This restaurant is a byob FYI. The noise level in this place is deafening. We took sometime to study the menu and our waitress was attentive. Once we ordered it took an hour for us to be served. Outrageous! My husband was ready to leave. We questioned the waitress and she told us the kitchen was backed up because of takeout. Really? Who should come first? We got a beef dish that was good. Temple rice that had lots of good things in it but was tasteless and a chicken peppercorn dish that was a plain plateful of chicken nuggets. To say we the least we were very disappointed. I made a comment to the manager and he apologized and said the next time see me and I will make sure you have a good experience. There won’t be a next time.
Excellent service from our server Audrey, food delicious, definitely plan to go back again soon
We were quite disappointed with the Three Scallion filet mignon entree. Four ( out of six) of us ordered it expecting that the dish would include bell peppers as well as red onions . The bell pepper slices were absent as well as the red onion. The sauce was similar to a pot roast gravy . We asked our server why the bell peppers were absent and she was puzzled and couldn’t answer our inquiry. We checked the menu description, and bell peppers are listed as an ingredient!
It was very noisy and almost impossible to hear conversation. A large birthday party group was seated in the front of the restaurant- thus, their celebratory noise was heard by all. Perhaps, seating such a party in a corner in the rear of the room would have been a wiser decision.
Had a really here for Saturday night and arrived 10-15 mins early. Host tried to seat us in bar area at a high top table. Due to a physical disability I am unable to sit with my legs dangling. I explained to the host and he said that was he had because he had other reservations. I’ve eaten here many times and this is the second incident at this establishment. Last time they lost our ticket and it took almost 2 hours for our meal to served. We almost missed our show at count Basie. If you have a physical disability or elderly don’t patronize this establishment. The ya the not ADA complaint.
I ordered the sesame chicken. It was very flavorful and delicious. I plan to come back. I'd recommend the beef lo-mein, sesame chicken, & mango chicken.
Temple is always a treat. The food is great, the portions are big and the energy is contagious. It's a great spot for families or groups of friends.
Great service. Excellent food. Nice place. We'll be back for sure.
Probably one of the worst services experience in a long season time. Our server had a language barrier. Despite repeatedly repeating our order it still was incorrect/ never arrived. Complained to the manger who said “ yeah he has a language issue we should have spoken up earlier. Well gee if you knew there was a communication issue why didn’t you monitor how he was doing. Food was good but waste of a night out.
This review would have been 5 stars, but for the food runners and bus staff. They delivered meals without also giving us plates or serving utensils. They also served our entrees about 5 minutes after we got our plates for the appetizers, so we were eating apps and entrees at the same time. The last straw was when the runner had again forgotten plates for our entrees, and when she finally brought them, she just piled all 4 plates in front of me instead of giving them to each person. Our waitress was great and extremely apologetic for the bus and running staff - she seemed as frustrated with them as we were. Poor service from the staff can ruin the entire experience.
Arrived 10 minutes before reservation and was told that he "appreciated my being early BUT they were on time and to wait at the bar". We were then seated at a table by the door that had been empty since our arrival. It was extremely cold, windy and uncomfortable. I asked if this was our reserved table and he said no, our original table was used for a larger party and if we wanted to eat in the main dining room, we had an additional 25 minute wait. We asked if we could eat at the bar. If it wasn't for the tremendous service we received, we would have walked out. This was our third and final visit to Temple Gourmet!
First time dining here, food was delicious. Just slow coming out...
Good food, not cheap, basic atmosphere.
let me start with the food - which was EXCELLENT!!! i think takeout would be better than dine-in.
we tried to eat here during the summertime, and after a 15-minute wait at a table, with no one bringing menu or water or anything - we said we were leaving. the host said they were having staffing issues then.
fast forward and we tried again on saturday. this time, a better service situation, but not by much. the staff is YOUNG YOUNG YOUNG, and i think they might be better served with some more-experienced staff.
we ordered a soup - which came luke warm, and asked for it to be heated up. when it came back (still lukewarm) we pretty much let that be. next up - two egg rolls - with dishes to use coming several minutes later once the egg rolls were done. main course of lobster and filet mignon with veggies was spectacular. their temple fried rice was also exquisite.
bottom line - if you have more patience than we did- go! the food is truly magnificent! but beware the service...
