Temple Gourmet Chinese
Excellent food and service, as always!!
Family get together
Waiiter Alec was great!
Always great at Temple! Food delish and service with Audrey was fantastic!
Our soups came out barely warm . We told the waiter - he brought us more soup however that too was still barely lukewarm . We ordered the steak and lobster medium - the steak came our rare . The manager has us give him the steak we cut in a bowl which he then returned to us cooked medium - very unacceptable for a$47 entree. Overall I would not recommend Temple as the quality of the food and service has clearly declined .
Our server Taylor was great! She said they were super busy, but you would never know it because service and food was amazing. The only place we get chines food is here!!
Food (entrées and apps )came out at random times
Atmosphere could use an update
We have been coming here for the past couple years and have been happy with the experiences. Tonight, we started off with 2 filet mignon egg rolls which were cold in the middle and followed by a chicken entree with severely undercooked chicken. Sending back the egg rolls one would think would encourage a visit from the manager and certainly raw chicken should have... we will chalk it up to a bad night...
This was our second visit to Temple gourmet Chinese. Both visits we were exceptionally pleased. The food is spectacular and both times our waitress Audrey was sweet and attentive. Temple is a real gem
We had not been to Temple for some time. We decided to travel and revisit this restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated in a timely manor. The place was packed. This restaurant is a byob FYI. The noise level in this place is deafening. We took sometime to study the menu and our waitress was attentive. Once we ordered it took an hour for us to be served. Outrageous! My husband was ready to leave. We questioned the waitress and she told us the kitchen was backed up because of takeout. Really? Who should come first? We got a beef dish that was good. Temple rice that had lots of good things in it but was tasteless and a chicken peppercorn dish that was a plain plateful of chicken nuggets. To say we the least we were very disappointed. I made a comment to the manager and he apologized and said the next time see me and I will make sure you have a good experience. There won’t be a next time.
Excellent service from our server Audrey, food delicious, definitely plan to go back again soon
We were quite disappointed with the Three Scallion filet mignon entree. Four ( out of six) of us ordered it expecting that the dish would include bell peppers as well as red onions . The bell pepper slices were absent as well as the red onion. The sauce was similar to a pot roast gravy . We asked our server why the bell peppers were absent and she was puzzled and couldn’t answer our inquiry. We checked the menu description, and bell peppers are listed as an ingredient!
It was very noisy and almost impossible to hear conversation. A large birthday party group was seated in the front of the restaurant- thus, their celebratory noise was heard by all. Perhaps, seating such a party in a corner in the rear of the room would have been a wiser decision.
Had a really here for Saturday night and arrived 10-15 mins early. Host tried to seat us in bar area at a high top table. Due to a physical disability I am unable to sit with my legs dangling. I explained to the host and he said that was he had because he had other reservations. I’ve eaten here many times and this is the second incident at this establishment. Last time they lost our ticket and it took almost 2 hours for our meal to served. We almost missed our show at count Basie. If you have a physical disability or elderly don’t patronize this establishment. The ya the not ADA complaint.
I ordered the sesame chicken. It was very flavorful and delicious. I plan to come back. I'd recommend the beef lo-mein, sesame chicken, & mango chicken.
Temple is always a treat. The food is great, the portions are big and the energy is contagious. It's a great spot for families or groups of friends.
Great service. Excellent food. Nice place. We'll be back for sure.
Probably one of the worst services experience in a long season time. Our server had a language barrier. Despite repeatedly repeating our order it still was incorrect/ never arrived. Complained to the manger who said “ yeah he has a language issue we should have spoken up earlier. Well gee if you knew there was a communication issue why didn’t you monitor how he was doing. Food was good but waste of a night out.
This review would have been 5 stars, but for the food runners and bus staff. They delivered meals without also giving us plates or serving utensils. They also served our entrees about 5 minutes after we got our plates for the appetizers, so we were eating apps and entrees at the same time. The last straw was when the runner had again forgotten plates for our entrees, and when she finally brought them, she just piled all 4 plates in front of me instead of giving them to each person. Our waitress was great and extremely apologetic for the bus and running staff - she seemed as frustrated with them as we were. Poor service from the staff can ruin the entire experience.
Arrived 10 minutes before reservation and was told that he "appreciated my being early BUT they were on time and to wait at the bar". We were then seated at a table by the door that had been empty since our arrival. It was extremely cold, windy and uncomfortable. I asked if this was our reserved table and he said no, our original table was used for a larger party and if we wanted to eat in the main dining room, we had an additional 25 minute wait. We asked if we could eat at the bar. If it wasn't for the tremendous service we received, we would have walked out. This was our third and final visit to Temple Gourmet!
First time dining here, food was delicious. Just slow coming out...
Good food, not cheap, basic atmosphere.
let me start with the food - which was EXCELLENT!!! i think takeout would be better than dine-in.
we tried to eat here during the summertime, and after a 15-minute wait at a table, with no one bringing menu or water or anything - we said we were leaving. the host said they were having staffing issues then.
fast forward and we tried again on saturday. this time, a better service situation, but not by much. the staff is YOUNG YOUNG YOUNG, and i think they might be better served with some more-experienced staff.
we ordered a soup - which came luke warm, and asked for it to be heated up. when it came back (still lukewarm) we pretty much let that be. next up - two egg rolls - with dishes to use coming several minutes later once the egg rolls were done. main course of lobster and filet mignon with veggies was spectacular. their temple fried rice was also exquisite.
bottom line - if you have more patience than we did- go! the food is truly magnificent! but beware the service...
We dined at Temple to celebrate our friends’ wedding anniversary. They did not disappoint! We all ordered the sizzling peppered filet mignon! All six meals were excellent!
First time. Great food. Service A+. Small parking lot directly behind restaurant. 🤫
Great food ! Beware they charge an extra 3.5 % for using credit card
Great Chinese food made fresh without the morning after effects!
Great food, absolutely terrible, slow service.
Not sure where to begin but the service was awful. I have never seen so many people running around but doing nothing. So many dishes were getting delivered to the wrong tables. It was very comical to watch. We had one bad dish nothing worse then chewy chicken. They did remove from the bill but the manager never came over. Beware when using a credit card they charge a fee not sure how they come up with it but poor taste in my opinion. We have eaten here a few times but won’t be back.
I enjoyed "Temple". The food is amazing & service is awesome! My favorite go-to Chinese spot.
Server was excellent. My chicken corn soup was delicious but could have been warmer. Servings were large and delicious. My first time there and I’ll definitely return.
I don’t mind waiting a little longer for food especially on a Saturday, but when it comes out cold that is unacceptable. It seemed like the kitchen was struggling to keep up and there were many unhappy customers. Our server was new and apologetic, but wewill not return.
They were behind schedule and we waited 10 minutes beyond reservation. Table service was above average, and the food was admirable.
Excellent service and with a smile. They even made coffee for me and, not on the menu! Food awesome
I tried the beef lo-mein. It was delicious!
I’ve eaten there quite a few times. Never had a bad meal.
We enjoy Peking Duck there. You can order it when you get there and it is ready by the time you finish your first course. It’s very good.
Service tonight was terrible! Waited 30 minutes before anyone even looked at us. Then they delivered 2 soups out to the table and had to wait another 10 minutes for the other 5 soups to come to the table. No serving spoons in any of our items, no dishes to put the food into until we asked. Food is always very good here but not worth the aggravation when you get better service at Peking Pavilion-
And hate to say it - much better service at PF changs
Very disappointed since we were there to celebrate my sisters birthday! We left without even having dessert because we just wanted to leave!
We’ve been to Temple several times within the last year and every time we have a server who is “in training.” It was very uncomfortable when our server made a mistake when describing a special and his trainer rudely corrected him. After that she never came back with him and our “trainee” server never refilled our water or came back to get our order without us asking. The food is usually good, but the service has been consistently declining.
Will not return. They charge people for using a credit card a service fee. Never have we seen this before.
This was probably the worst visit we ever had. We have been coming for over ten years. It must have been an off night. From being seated at the worst table in the back by the kitchen door. I told the hostess we were not going to sit there. Scott I guest the Manager said we would have to wait forty five minutes for a better table and I told him we had a reservation and he replied that makes a difference. I guess the hostess was new and never checked to see our reservation. Than our server was hard to understand and never went over the specials. Had to ask for ice a couple of times. Than someone else came to our table and said she was our server ??? We ordered three dishes to share and only two came out. Had to ask for the third. Food was good as always however we ordered fried rice and it was fried rice with chicken and shrimp. We don't eat chicken. So a total disappointment and could not wait to leave. Please work on your staffing to ensure this does not happen again. Its all about customer service and total experience. I would hate to have to take Temple off my favorite list. Will try again because i know things happen. But should not after being around for so long.
I was dining with my boyfriend and our 18 month old daughter. Which is a feat in itself. We had reservations, however I didn’t think the staff was very accommodating to us. That was a major turn off. I didn’t even tell my boyfriend that I felt uncomfortable while he ran to the liquor store because he would have wanted to leave immediately.
There was one highlight this evening amongst the entire staff and that would be a young man named Aiden (sp?). He tried to be so helpful to us and I was grateful. He checked up us more than our server. Too bad I wasn’t able to leave him our tip...
I was a die hard fan of Temple when we didn’t have a child in tow but I don’t feel like they get the parental dining experience. It’s on a completely different level.
