Love the happy hour special. Staff is friendly. Craft cocktails are hit and miss depending on bartender, but still drinkable.

First timenhere and the food, service and experience were beyond expectations, will definitely go back when back in Madison.

Great spot for dinner! I made note on the reservation & mentioned when we arrived that it was my fiance's birthday. Usually you get a glass of champagne or dessert option. But I get that it's COVID times and sadly nothing special was done.

The food was outstanding as usual! I loved the new add-ons to the menu and the mahi mahi and king crab cakes are to die for! Our server Nicole was nothing less than amazing. By far my favorite restaurant in Madison.

I had the Shrimp scallop Porkbelly and grits. If you are going to have soft texture things then at least use stone ground grits for texture cause the quick or overcooked ones don’t work.
The shrimp app the scallop app and the oysters were delicious. Drinks overpriced.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing dinner! We got the fritters for an app. Then he got a selection of the east coast oysters and I got the lobster roll! Both were amazing. Our server was so kind and we had a great meal.

We had reservations but waited for the host who also juggles online orders. The food and service was wonderful. As promised the oysters were incredible and I loved my tuna. I said in my reservation that it was my partner’s birthday. I thought there would at least be a verbal acknowledgment of it but alas no. Glad I made reservations at another restaurant for drinks and dessert.

The food and drinks were great! Oysters on the half shell were fresh and my lobster bisque was delicious. I don’t recall what my wife had as her entrée but she said it was superb. Shall definitely go back!

We had a great dinner and the service was excellent - very attentive and friendly. Did a good job following COVID guidelines and we felt very safe and separated from other diners.

We love coming to Tempest as the quality is always outstanding. My son especially loves that the staff remember him and I feel more than comfortable taking him as I know the safety standards during the pandemic are being followed. We so appreciate all the extra care. It's such a warm, lovely place with delicious food.

New Years Eve

Everything about our experience was outstanding! Fantastic service, phenomenal cuisine, and inviting atmosphere. It made the beginning of our New Year’s Eve celebration top notch.

Came in for drinks and appetizers to celebrate NYE, and as usual, it was amazing! Their cocktails are always delicious, the oysters were on point, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Service is always amazing, and their bar area is always the best place for a great photo op!

This was the first restaurant I have dined in since the pandemic began. I was super nervous but they spread people out, all staff had masks on. They sat us in a quiet corner by a door and said if we needed to open the door we could. There as a separate extra air filter in the room as well. I was happy to see them taking a lot of caution.

The oysters here are always so fresh. We love happy hour when oysters are $2. The scallops on the happy hour menu are very good. French fries are very tasty.

Best service. Best seafood. Best Oysters in Madison. As much as I love to try new experiences, we keep coming back to Tempest because we know we won't be disappointed. Favorite dishes are the carpetbagger (steak stuffed with oysters) and the shrimp, scallop, and grits. The staff is always so warm and welcoming.
