We love Tilios the food the service the neighborhood. We call it Cheers where everyone knows your name
Great service & great food always! Best gyros, spinach pie & Greek salads.
Always such nice staff and servers, kind, patient, helpful. This is a casual neighborhood spot for Mediterranean food and the bonus is that you can add on a slice of Perfecto pizza Sicilian that is next door!
Italian food is the least expensive to make and taste good. Their recipe for meatballs fell so short. There were pieces of bread filling in the meatballs which means it absorbs grease which then lands on my waistline. The meat was not a good ground round or sirloin flavor, probably a ground chuck. It was hard fry-sautéed before being added to the sauce, which by the way was
Nothing special. To top it off the serving was much smaller than most Italian places.
Service was very slow, painfully so. The way the wait staff stood there and hung over our shoulder as we paid the bill was most annoying. She watched every move of our pen.
Great neighborhood dining on upper west side. Only think was I asked 3 times to verify my Open Table reservation was confirmed only to get a no show email two days later.
Very good food, service, decor & price! Will go back again.
Great food, service and ambiance!
The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Pleasant ambiance for local bistro type.
Cuisine a but disappointing Plentiful but not well flavored
Salsa Spinach pie very good
I frequently eat at Telio with friends or alone. I also have food delivered. The quality of the food is consistently good. The wait staff are attentive and friendly.
Food was good, friendly services. Definitely going back when I’m in the area.
Disappointing dinner, my dish of Risotto with shrimps & scallops was very small amount of risotto, not enough value! My friend's pasta & mushroom dish was poor - noodles stuck together and mushroom stems not removed. Would not go back.
Good neighborhood place.
The salmon was quite good
Love this place but be on time for your reservation or your table will go to someone else if they arebusy. Fair enough.
Great pizza & Great service at UWS neighborhood restaurant
It was extremely noisy, so we left without eating. The manager was very unfriendly. No doubt he meant well, but did not handle the stress of the moment well at all.
Great pizza, Perfecto salad & service.
The fact that the description of Telio on Open Table refers to authentic cuisine with recipes handed down and refers to the restaurant as a "must-try" establishment on the Upper West Side can only mean that the description was written by the owners of Telio, and has taught me never to trust the description section again. The restaurant was a glorified pizza parlor (and is attached to a pizza parlor, actually), and, on this particular Saturday night, had 4 young people working there who were far more interested in joking around with each other than thinking about any of their paying customers. The food was fine, but was ridiculously over priced - my Greek salad was $15 and if I wanted to add chicken it went up to $23. For a restaurant that bordered on being a diner, the prices were hardly warranted.
Delicious food, great price...the ideal spot for an authentic meal.
Once again after explaining Open Table reservation to 2 different people, I still see reservation was ignored. No points added to my account. Food is good at this neighborhood joint, but this open table thing happens every time!
Excellent food and service at a very reasonable price. Always a great experience...
Everything was wonderful! Very good service! YUM! Great wine deals call ahead!
Great pizza. But they never register Open Table reservations for points
The waiter kind of ignored us--when he FINALLY brought the check we had to go get it from him after 20 minutes.
Very good food which is well prepared and served by helpful staff. Prices are more than fair.
Homemade Food Just like my Grandmother Cooked - Terrible
The Upper West Side is where the literati live, yet Symphony Space is located in a restaurant desert - nothing but retail chain stores and Starbucks - not a decent restaurant in site. So we tried Telio a Greek/Italian home style restaurant guarded by a little old Mediterranean couple. But not every grandmother knows good food. Mine was the worst cook in the world.
We started with “Greek Spreads”: taramosalata (carp mousse), melizanosalata (eggplant salad), tzatziki (greek yogurt with garlic cucumbers and mint) and tyrokafteri (red pepper and feta cheese purée). All tasted as if just spooned from a Krinos Jar. The spanakopita was a soggy mess with a caked burnt crust – obviously had been sitting around for days and reheated many times.
Our Entrees were a Gyro plate, Chicken Kebab and Veal Parmigana. I knew we were in trouble when they were served 5 minutes after ordering. All tasted wet from the steam table and then reheated. The pasta was Al Mushy, rather than al dente – had to eat with a spoon because the strands broke on the tines of a fork – Chef Boyardee is better quality. Box wine for $12 glass.
The pasta with salmon was excellent.
Telio is a neighborhood gem so I eat here often.
Good neighborhood casual dining. Greek, Italian dishes well prepared Also great pizzas. Unfortunately Telio most often fails to register Open Table reservations, so you'll get a no show email from Open Table. In my case, I notified the host & waiter of my open table reservation to no avail.
Great neighborhood place with a vast menu and friendly service
This is a good neighborhood spot for casual dining. Service was very good. Not sure it was as authentic as I would have liked (I'm from Chicago and we have Greektown) but the food was good and well preparred and my guests live in the neighborhood and they will be coming back. I would give it an overall 3 1/2 -4 stars.
Very good neighborhood place. I think it helps to be a regular? The place had many open tables which was not surprising for an August night and the owner met us and showed to any table we wanted. Didn't need our OpenTable reservation! The METS game was on a TV by the bar which was a plus for me. Food was a cut above typical Greek diner, with lots of Greek & Italian options. The grilled octopus was ok but had a tuna fish taste? Lamb kabobs with grilled vegetables was excellent except for the rice which was a bit soggy. My daughter enjoyed her chicken Marsala. Strangely it took forever to pay our bill despite help from the friendly "bus boy" who also kept our glasses filled with cold and refreshing water.
If you order the right dish it is very good.
The salmon is very good with the leek rice
The chicken is always too dry so I only order the salmon.
I'm sure there are other good dishes too
The food was delicious! The service was so-so. The older gentleman, maybe the owner or manager, was very nice and picked up where our server was lacking.
I eat here often. It's a neighborhood gem. The food is always fresh and good and the staff is friendly and efficient. Because I'm a regular there they know me and always give me a warm hello including the owner who is usually on site managing. He cares. I love this restaurant. It's my go-to.
Great neighborhood find. Walked by on many occasions and decided to try, pleasantly surprised. Attentive and friendly wait staff, hot, tasty food, good oozo, what more could I ask for?
Lively, fun neighborhood restaurant. Food is basic, fairly good.
Great place - great value - tons of options, casual and delicious
Mediterranen food at Telio was good and there was a healthy salad along with the swordfish and the service was attentive.
Large, diverse menu, everything is tasty, it's our second kitchen. Staff is fantastic too!
Neighborhood favorite for excellent pizza
