Teikoku Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Very good restaurant with quality and fresh ingredients. The place has a lot of space and seating, with a decorative bar centered in the middle of the restaurant. My girlfriend and I ordered the seaweed salad and a few rolls. We were very pleased with our order.
Always come here and has never been less than 5 /5 stars. I had a waiter named Ron I believe who was extremely helpful during a busy evening on Valentine’s Day. He made sure we were taken care of and always checked on. He really gave us a wonderful experience. The food was perfect and the steaks always melt in your mouth and are cooked perfectly. There is noise but your able to dine with out a problem in hearing. Highly recommend this place. The price and quality match.
And friend and I are out of towners in West Chester visiting another friend. Found this place on a google search and after reading the menu and the reviews decided this was a great place for dinner. We thought the exterior was lovely but once we stepped inside, it felt like we were in a Japanese village. Beautifully designed and decorated. The ambience was fantastic. Service was great and the food even better. I love the creative hand crafted cocktails! The specials offered during this particular night all sounded amazing and made it hard to choose. We decided to share a few things so that we could try a few different items and it was a GREAT idea. We had the gyoza, spring rolls (yum!), and special sushi roll to share. The spring rolls were amazing. The gyoza was pretty standard. The special roll was fantastic! I had the Diver Scallops as my entree which were spectacular. They were huge! The orzo and the saffron cream sauce was so tasty. My friend had the shrimp pad thai which was also great. Then we had the special dessert, the fruit tart. The way it was presented was beautiful. I thought I was just getting a fruit tart but on the plate was also a fruit mousse and a creamy and delicious panna cotta. AMAZING! We've already talked about going back the next time we're in town!
Teukoku is our go to for a get together with friends. Our recent visit was an introduction to their new cocktail and dinner menu. It was another wonderful experience. Drinks and food met all expectations. Service was exceptional. Our server, Rachel was knowledgeable and her recommendations for cocktails and food were spot on. Recommend the great. Recommend two new items, the Solstice Serrenade and surf and turf roll.
Table next to us sat dirty the entire time we were there. Our drinking glasses had to be exchanged for clean ones. Hot and sour soup was not appealing to look at. However sushi was great and loved basil chicken. Usually this place great may have been an off day. Will definitely try again
Last Saturday evening we arrived at Teikoku on time for a 6:00pm reservation. We had tickets for a 7:30 movie at Edgemont Theatre. Our waiter came fairly soon and took our drink order. When he brought our drinks we ordered our first course and main course. Our first courses came a little later than we had expected, and they were good. Then we waited and waited and asked the waiter to check on our food. Finally at 7:15 we asked our waiter to make our food to "go"!. He went into the kitchen and brought out our order. We charged the $118.00 for our food. We were able to get to the movie at 7:35. We had our duck dinner at 10:00pm after warming it in the microwave, It was very good.
When we left, many, many people were waiting.
This isn't an authentic Japanese or Thai restaurant - despite the name and foreign 'celebrity' chefs. The menu is creative and varied and the service is pretty good. I had their 'top of the house' $60 Omakase tasting menu and it was so-so. Two of the courses were too similar (sliced, raw fish with some light, chilled broth), there was no miso soup, the duck was too heavily slathered with sweet teriyaki sauce, and the sushi course was way too much food. The servers that delivered the courses often weren't familiar with what they were dropping off. It seemed disjointed and not well thought out. I appreciated the chef stopping by my table to ask me how it was - I think they don't sell many of these so he was curious about my impression. He could tell I wasn't completely satisfied and offered an apology. Overall I would return, realizing this is a fusion restaurant designed to please the American palette vs. offer authentic Asian cuisine.
We had a reservation and unfortunately were not seated until over 30 minutes after our scheduled reservation despite showing up on time. There were no apologies offered up by the staff who had employed an air of superiority to their service for the evening. Overall a disappointing trip to what used to be one of my family’s favorite restaurants in the area. Will be a long time (if ever) before we return.
the service was slow, i asked for a table in a quiet area but got the loudest area. Tables are a bit too close together in general. Table also a bit small for two people. Other than that i have been here many times and it's always been a great time. The food is amazing and at a reasonable price. You wont be disappointed.
