The kobe beef and hot rock is excellent.
Great place and would be better with a bit lower prices. Enjoy their happy hour and at that time better for conversation
Had a lovely night with a gal friend here. The yellowtail--always my litmus--was outstanding. Enjoyed the rolls too, and don't miss the Japanese sweet potato fries with honey. Dessert for dinner!
The Sunday Brunch was very good, only concern is some of the food was not hot.
It was the last hour - hour in a half before the closing time for brunch and the some of
the food was not warm at all. The food was delicious but would have appreciated and enjoyed much more HOT!
Had great Sushi -excellent service
Non sushi dishes were quite delicious as well
Fun upbeat place and casual
they have drifted away from traditional Japanese cuisne and has become more of a Asian American fusion that is too pricy. it is still good food in a nice atmosphere.
The food and service was exceptionally amazing. I have been driving past this restaurant for years now and I took my wife there and plan on going back more than once.
I was disappointed in my Pad Thai. It didn't have that hint of sweetness that I was looking for. It had a bit of a burned taste. So I was disappointed
The key lime pie dessert was a real disappointment too. It was not a pie or even a pie in a glass - it was just a mess to me.
Gelato was delicious though.
Restaurant is above average as far as food, service and atmosphere. The menu and web site are dated however. Neither offer vegan choices and tofu isn't offered as an alternative to meat & fish, yet could be so easily done. When I asked a waitress she pointed out gluten free choices!
We love the food & service here. We dine there at least once a month. Makes the best duck breast ever. Noise level is high but that's because a lot of people eat here.
I enjoyed the traditional Japanese character of the restaurant. Food quality was excellent and the sponge cake garnish was delightful as well as nostaligic.
I will be back.
Very surprised by the number of excellent reviews here. Went on a Sunday night and the place was crowded, so I expected a great meal. Appetizers were OK, not great and not terrible. But the sushi was very disappointing. For $17, I expected my Godzilla roll -- with shrimp, strawberries, honey and macadamia nuts as ingredients -- to be amazing. It wasn't. Sounded much better in the menu description. With a more skilled sushi chef, these ingredients should have worked harmoniously together but the execution here was just flat. My Teikoku roll was also unimpressive. I can't even remember what was in it; that's how unmemorable it was. My wife's shrimp tempura roll contained way too much rice (always the sign of mediocre sushi) and, according to her, was not worth the $7 price tag. My daughter's chicken teriyaki was boring. Just rice, chicken, a few string beans -- certainly not worth $15. And that's the main problem here. Center City prices for very average food. Our bill with tip was $101. For the experience we had, that's just ridiculous.
I had hoped this would be our new go-to sushi place in the suburbs. I guess our quest will continue.
I was introduced to Teikoku by a work colleague for lunch. Had the most delicious red Thai curry. I could tell the atmosphere would be perfect for an anniversary dinner and I was not disappointed. My wife and I celebrated our 23rd at a quiet table for two. Beautiful lighting, warm wood decor, delicious food (awesome knife skills dudes), Saki, wine....a perfect romantic night out. Go there....you'll love it.
We arrived at restaurant earlier than our 8 o'clock reservation as I saw that they still had open tables for 7:15 and 7:30pm but apparently this was a mistake as we the waited 25 minutes for our table. Our waiter was very good but very busy as this was a Saturday night. My son and his friend really liked their entrees but I was a little disappointed in mine as I expected something different, however, I loved the spices and flavors but there was too much rice. I may have to try something different next time.
We had a great dinner. Sushi was fantastic. Dining room was a bit loud but would definitely eat there again
I'm local and have brought my wife to this restaurant before, and it's been better in the past. The service was fine but we were seated at a table closest to the bathroom (there were other available tables left empty during our dinner!). My noodles were overcooked and my wife had sushi that came with an abundance of sauce on top of it- the sushi was drowning in it.
I don't like to complain but the food was not very good. Maybe I'm getting used to places like New Leaf nearby who put more thought into the experience with quality food and better seating.
WE thought the meal was a little rushed. We hade three appetizers and were hardly finished when we were presented with our entrees.
This is a great restaurant for Asian food!
I really enjoy everything about this restaurant --the hostesses, waitstaff, food and ambiance. Many, many menu choices. We love to go there also because they can easily accommodate our group of 8.
My food was served well after my husband's and I had to ask about it. The menu hasn't changed much in years.
The service and food were beyond outstanding. We were blown away with every bite! We went for a birthday dinner but will definitely be back more frequently.
The food is always great as well as our server Daniel, but $10 for a glass of house wine?
Brunch menu is eclectic with something for fish or meat lovers and vegetarians at a reasonable cost. Food was delicious and plentiful. Servers were pleasant and attentive.
First time visiting in a good while. Really enjoyed it. Hope to return soon!
One of my favorite fancy sushi places! It is our go to for a special night out.
We come here often and it never disappoints. Food and service are always amazing. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. The Sunday brunch is incredible.
Great Asian ambiance, but a little noisy. Sushi is always fresh because their volume of orders.
Pleasurable environment, tasty menu and attentive server. Overall, wonderful experience.
It was too dark to read the menu. We senior's find that annoying but we love the food and were not rushed.
Another great, chill, delicious dinner at the bar. Amazing sashimi:)
Not a single person asked how our food was or how how experience was the entire time we were in the restaurant. We paid, and eventually walked out the door without anyone saying good night or "hope you had a good meal.". The food was not what we expected. The sushi tasted smoky, was different from any other sushi we had ever eaten in that regard, and was not what we expected. We were not happy with our meals or our overall experience and will not be back.
The food is pretty consistent, and a good spot for a business lunch. It's never too crowded at lunchtime. The appetizers are great to share. Sushi is quite good and sashimi is excellent.
The service was prompt, friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous my date and I shared appetizers, and a few courses of food. Everything was presented well and tasted fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire experience.
The sushi and soups were excellent but the Pad Thai was very mediocre. The kitchen was very slow but the waiter was attentive and doing his best.
Excellent, amazing sushi. Great waitress. Reasonable Price.
The sushi was unlike anything I've had -- and I've had a lot of sushi. Highly recommend.
Great food. Tuna tartar bruschetta appetizer is recommended. Service by Rachel was exceptional.
I mostly like this place: atmosphere and food but this time they put us in the backroom even though we had a reservation. I don't like it back there, absolutely no atmosphere and expressed this to the hostess. She could have cared less. Said it was bc all the tables were for 4 people and we were 2. Families and loud kids back there in addition to loudness and boring room. No thanks. We went to bonefish. Much better. Next time, I will call to confirm WHERE we are sitting. Ugh!
Favorite family eating place for dinner and special events. Food is always terrific and service is friendly and helpful
We have been to Teikoku many times, however, the service this evening was terrible. We waited 20 minutes before we were even asked what we would like to drink. Sat outside with the smell from the septic tank wafting nearby.
