Great food. Great service. A++. Highly recommended
This was the first time my husband and I had gone to Teikoku although we've lived in Newtown
Square since before it was opened. We had 6:30 reservations on a weekday and were seated immediately. Our wait person took good care of us and gave recommendations. We both had Spring Rolls as a starter and they were wonderful. My husband had the Sashimi Platter and was very pleased with it - finished it all. I had the green Curry Fried Rice with chicken and thought it was great - I did take some home since it is a large portion. We definitely will go back again!!
We love Teikoku and the food is always excellent. Best sushi in our corner of the burbs. However, last night it wasn't crowded but the service was slow. Apps came out fast, and 3 of us got our entrees 10 minutes before the fourth did.
Yummy!!! Great service
We celebrated a birthday with family and everything was outstanding. The waitress heard us mention birthday and came out with cake for dessert (without us asking). It was incredibly thoughtful.
First time there with friends. Overall good dining experience. The menu is a quite large, almost too much to choose from. A little miscommunication on the serving size of the sushi/sashimi platter but server handled it well. Sashimi was fresh, spider roll and rainbow roll were fine, crab fried rice and spicy noodle tasty and our friends liked their chicken curry. Calamari salad ok, probably wouldn't order again. Lots of fun cocktails, sparkling wine was good.
It was our first time at the restaurant. The restaurant is in a very nice location and has ample parking. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star because of the hostess and the server. The hostess doesn’t seem happy to be there. Our server was nice yet she missed some detail like my husband got his food on a chipped plate. When I showed it to her she did apologize but you know it wasn’t sincere.
But the food is DELICIOUS. We started with grilled octopus salad. We were torn between kobe beef hot rock and grilled octopus salad. But the salad was GREAT. Then we got Poseidon sushi. again DELICIOUS. Then I got Chilean sea bass. Outside is a little crunchy but inside is so soft. The sauce I am not too crazy about it but overall great dish. My husband ordered divers scallops. He loved it!!!! For dessert we ordered fried ice cream. It was good.
Overall the food, location is great. The service just needs a little bit of attention.
Really fun .. nice people !
Nice local place. Food is good and service is always nice.
My husband and I have been to Teikoku numerous times. This visit we experienced the worst service ever. We sat for 10 minutes and had to call the hostess over to find out if we had a waiter. The waiter came over and took our order. After our appetizers were finished our waiter came over to tell me that my entree was no longer gluten free even thought it was marked on the menu. He took my new order and apologized. After a long wait, an employee came over and literally dropped our food on the table as they were walking away. I didn’t even have a chance to tell her that my entree was wrong. I sat and waited for our waiter to return to tell him that I received the wrong meal. He took it away and after waiting again I finally received my meal. When our dinner was complete it took a long time to received a desert menu. Another waiter came over and took our desert order because he saw that we were waiting yet again. When the bill finally arrived there were no apologies for the errors or wait we encountered. The service was so poor I am not sure we will ever go back.
Great food. Becoming our favorite place!
Restaurant is beautiful. Service was excellent. We had a group of 8, our waiter, Larry was outstanding . Quality of food was wonderful. Look to return.
My husband and I had dinner at Teikoku for his birthday. We ordered an appetizer, two sushi rolls, each an entree, a dessert, and a bottle of wine. The price was of the dinner was very reasonable. The food was delicious, especially the salmon. Our server, Jamie was informative and pleasant. I only wish that my husband’s birthday was recognized. I did make a note of it when I made the reservation.
We will definitely go back and try different options and sit on the outdoor patio. It looked beautiful
Beautiful place, great food, attentive service. Worthy of 5 stars if not for the noise level. Hard to have a conversation.
Disappointed! Lobster risotto, on the special menu; where were the lobster pieces within the sticky blob on plate? We were rushed thru meal from appetizers thru dessert. Unpleasant
Great family dinner spot. Our waitress was attentive. We ordered appetizers and sushi to share and everything was delicious. The sushi rolls we’re very creative
Pros: A nice variety of thoughtfully prepared foods with little twists of interest. Good food, good waitstaff, and simple pleasant rooms.
Cons: Tables are cramped near one another. Nothing to deaden sounds, and even when room is not crowded, patrons are seated close to each other.
Service was fantastic! The sushi was below average. Neither rolls we ordered stayed together. Had to eat them with forks. The tapas platter was very good, especially the lobster dumplings.
With 8 people the staff should have known to put us at a round table not a long table.
I love the restaurant. Everything was great except the room we were seated. The air conditioner did not work properly there. So we were sweating. They tried to make it better but it did not change much.
Best seared tuna, champagne scallops, and sushi. It was outstanding.
I have been there before and loved it. This time was just ok. Could just be an off night. Will try again!
This restaurant never disappoints! Food, service, atmosphere, everything is wonderful.
Great food , and service
Good food. Friendly nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Good views. Good local beers. Good Sake selection. Sushi is quality and unique house specialties
This was a girls night out. We really enjoyed our meal and relaxing time together. Thanks!!
They were very considerate of their customers. The service was great!
Omakase was very good but the blueberry infused saki was all syrup and no saki.
Food just always takes 40+ minutes to come out which is was too long, but other than that it’s excellent
Wonderful food and drink. really enjoyed an outdoor meal.
The food is always great. However, this particular evening two of us were seated at an inside table (designed to hold two people) located directly behind the bar. The serving tray stack for drink orders was located there and it was exceptionally loud as the serving staff would frequently drop their empty trays onto the stack. While the inside seating is always loud this particular table was exceptionally so given it proximity to the bar. Also, this particular evening the attentiveness of our server was less than what we are accustomed to at Teikoku.
Great food, haven’t been disappointed yet. Nice crowd, but not too crazy. Seated in time, service was attentive.
Great Food and Great Service
Staff was very friendly. The food came hot. My dinner however was like a rubber chicken!!!!! It could neither be cut nor chewed. Very disappointing!!!!! I did send it back and asked for Lamb chops in place since I did not want to even try another chicken dish. The Lamb was wonderful. The waiter was more than accommodating. Everyone else at the table also had a wonderful meal.
This was are 2nd visit here and we were not disappointed. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We can not wait till our next cusit.
Excellent service and the food was delicious. We can't wait to go back.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday just this past weekend 7/19, it was our first time there and we already cannot wait to go back! 10/10 WOULD recommend to a friend.
Fish was very fresh and special rolls were interesting and tasty! I had trouble hearing the person across from me though : / A bit pricey, too.
