Tee-Jay Thai Sushi - Wilton Manors Ratings and Reviews
Tee-Jay Thai Sushi was recommended by locals on a couple of occasions while we were in Ft Lauderdale and it lived up to the hype. Good for small groups or couples. Food was delicious. Hardest part was making a decision on what to order. Will definitely be back.
Went to Tee Jay Thai Sushi in Wilton Manors for dinner. The decor, ambiance and service were superb. Our dinner started with an order of Edamame Beans and Age Nasu (eggplant with sesame seeds). Both appetizers were delicious. Our only criticism was that no sauce was served with the Edemame Beans. Next time we will definitely ask for soy sauce. My husband ordered Chicken Pad Thai which was excellent and plentiful. I opted for the barbecued Eel Sushi and the Tuna Sushi along with a second order of the eggplant. My dinner was also delicious. We were served Thai Donuts with a peanut sauce in honor of my birthday. These were a perfect way to end a wonderful meal. We always enjoy our meals here and will be returning!
The host and hostess made us feel like welcomed old friends. The food was fresh, tasty and very well presented. Our friends were delighted with the venue as they had long wanted to eat there. They commented positively on their meal choices, the decor and the quality of service. All in all, a very pleasant evening.
The service was sweet and attentive, but while my meal was delicious my companion's meal was unbelievably salty which made the rest of his night unpleasant. We were in a rush so sending it back was not an option. I feel certain they would have addressed the issue if we had asked. It's a loud and playful setting for a casual meal with friends. I will be back.
I have eaten sushi at the best of the best from Nobu, Moritmoto, O Ya, Sushi Nakizawa and nothing tastes as good and sweet as fresh and well prepared sushi and sashimi. While I certainly do not expect Tee Jay to compare to the grand sushi palaces, especially given the price point differences, Tee Jay's sushi has very little flavor and is quite bland indeed. About all you taste is the rice and whatever sauce they plop on top. The rolls are way too densely packed and taste much like what you might buy in a grocery store's sushi to go department. The other non sushi, non sashimi dishes are somewhat better. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There are better places in Fort Lauderdale for Japanese cuisine at the same price point.
This was the first time we tried tee Jay's. We went on New Years Eve and the service and food was incredible. I had the spicy whole snapper and it was prepared to perfection. My partner had the boneless duck in spicy basil sauce. Overall great food and great experience. We will be back!!
pretty decent experience for a neighbourhood restaurant.. the food is very good (let's face it, that's the most important thing) ... The service lags a bit... dirty dishes were allowed to stay on the table.. wrappers from sugars and straws were never picked up... food would be delivered but the drinks were not refreshed... but overall, efficient order taking, friendly staff... I wasn't wild about the fact that we were seated in the back next to the kitchen door... But that's life...
