Tee-Jay Thai Sushi - Wilton Manors Ratings and Reviews
Tee Jee's is one of the best Thai restaurant in which I have ever. Four of us had different dishes and all were great. The appetizers were also outstanding. The service attendants are friendly but not overbearing. Prices are very reasonable; especially for the quality. The duck is exceptional and the seafood fresh.
When one desires upscale sushi or Thai food, this is the place to to go. Although the prices are somewhat higher than neighborhood commodity restaurants, but it is well worth the difference. The presentation of the day's special menu items on an iPad which allows the guests to view the photo as well as hearing the explanation from the server provides an excellent opportunity to select an off-menu item. We enjoyed summer rolls as a light appetizer – a welcome relief from the usual fried spring roll. For dinner, we shared the special lobster sushi roll, which although it is priced at approximately $23, contains plenty of lobster and his blended with the appropriate accompaniments and spices. It can serve as a meal by itself. We also had the crispy duck/pad thai. Too often, for expedience, crispy duck is way overcooked in order to obtain the crisp coating. Here, the duck was wonderfully tender and juicy, yet the coating was appropriately firm. As usual, the service was freindly and attentive
I was visiting from New York and was planning a dinner with friends in Wilton Manors. A few people in our group had eaten there before and suggested we dine there. It was the first time for me. We were a group of 7, had reservations and were seated right away.
I chose the Thai Dumplings and a Dragon Roll from their very extensive menu...both delicious. Everyone else also seemed to enjoy their meals...didn't see much left in anyone's plate.
If they missed a beat it was in the table service. It felt a little rushed and our waitress was a touch short of pleasant.
This restaurant hits the mark each time. The shushi is creative, fresh, and not to be missed. Entres are delicious and prepared with fresh ingredients. Even the vegetable fried rice hits the mark for freshness and preparation. The shrimp pad Thai was outstanding with large freshly cooked shrimp.
We have never been disappointed with a meal here.
Usually great, server was overwhelmed, greeted the table by saying what can I get you to drink, not a hello or eye contact, and over a three course meal we had to ask for new plates every time, I am a server at a well known Wilton restaurant and was put off by the service, it was alittle embarrasing considering I raved about the place to my other guest before hand.
Beware, there's more than one Tee-Jay! We planned to meet friends and they went to the other one. We, eventually, figured that out and got together. The staff at both Tee-Jay's could not have been better handling this situation. Despite the delay, we were not rushed and had a great meal together. We keep going back to Tee-Jay because the sushi is always great with a broad variety. The Pad Thai was delicious. Great service, Great food. Nice atmosphere. Go for it!
Drove around the parking lot for 20 minutes and absolutely no spaces. No valet. Called the restaurant to tell them would be late.......but they had no record of the reservation. Told them I was calling from the Open Table confirmatory email link. They could be less interested.
Went with group of 8 people. All eight were more than pleased. My partner and I shared The Atkins Roll and Stir-Fry Sea Bass. Both dishes were delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared prepared in terms of seasoning and presentation. Others enjoyed whole crispy fish and specials. Amazing variety of choices between, sushi, kitchen entrees and specials.
The test of a great restaurant is how the food and service is maintained on a very busy night. We visited on Christmas Eve when the restaurant was full (with guests waiting), and we were not disappointed. We were served promptly and efficiently and were never rushed. As usual, the special Japanese roils featured on the iPad were unique, plentiful and contained a variety of tastes. The crispy duck (which in many restaurants tends to be dry) was moist and flavorful. The pad-thai with chicken was flavorful as well, although we prefer the seafood pad-thai with bean thread noodles when it is on the special menu. Importantly to us, we had requested a designated table when we booked on Open Table, and our request was honored, What more can be asked?
When we look to have upscale Thai dishes and sushi, we are never disappointed at Tee-Jays. Having the specials presented visually on an iPad helps to create the experience, and saves the repetition of the specials later. The special sushi rolls are visually and taste wise beautiful creations. The variety of the specials insures no boredom with repeat visits. The service Is superb, but for a treat, ask for one of Tim's tables. Unfortunately, parking is an issue, but worth the bother.
I found Tee-Jay great fun. Within moments of arriving, we met friendly people we never knew before - all of them in a really fun mood just like the rest of the tables as I looked around. But it wasn't just a party. I found the food rather good, where it wasn't expected. Maybe this is why this place has good Yelp and Open Table ratings. We had the boneless duck and the sea monster roll - both great. The people we met there ordered a "boat" of sushi, a model rowboat filled with sushi and vermicelli, displayed into what almost looks like a work of art. Bon appétit!
It's a cozy spot with modern decor and good service. The waitstaff was attentive but not invasive and the sushi menu offered unique rolls along with standard fare. I tried the surf and turf roll which was a bit pricey but very good none the less. We would absolutely go back and highly recommend it.
We made a reservation through this system and arrived at the scheduled time. Apparently it was the last reservation because they had all the chairs piled up outside and we had to step over all the rugs that they had put outside the door. The host saw us and ignored us. After about the third look he came over and we told him we had reservations through open table. He started to walk us to a table and a lady, who I think was the manager, literally came running at us and screamed "LAST CALL, LAST CALL!!! YOU MUST ORDER NOW!".
We looked at each other and were appalled! I said if we haven't even sat down yet and this is the way they treat people, lets go somewhere else.
There was a bar next door and we had dinner there.
We tried this restaurant after a recommendation from friends. I went with my boyfriend and a male friend. The ambiance is great and very authentic feeling. After perusing the menu, we all decided to order Chicken Pad Thai. Now, my boyfriend and I have tried different Thai places all over Broward County and this one ranks highly on our list. It was very flavorful and generous portions. I'm looking forward to trying other menu options.
