Ted's Montana Grill - NYC Ratings and Reviews
The food here was so so. The steaks reminded me of Outback Steakhouse. The garlic fries were pretty good. My son had a burger and he actually liked our local diner burger better than the one he had. As far as the service, it was very poor. We had to wait a long time to place our order, after that, our server pretty much ignored us. Had to keep asking the bus boy to refill our water. Overall, not worth the wait and money.
I have been to Teds many times largely because of their outstanding bison steaks. I have never been disappointed with the food but the services can be a little hit and miss. On this occasion we were not given water or pickles and actually had to ask for water part way through our meal as we were thirsty.
I love the fact that you can chose a sided (free of charge) to go with your steak (but it is strange it doesn't say this on the menu). I also find the portion size extremely variable. I usually have the filet and this is a sensible portion and the side of vegetables is a little small. However, if you order an entree salad it is enormous. This visit we ordered the apple cobbler for dessert with was lovely but again enormous great to share between 2-4 people, just as well we only ordered one dessert between 2.
My company is across the street from Ted's so we go there fairly often
for occasions. It is a bit pricey and none of my friends go for the bison
particularly; however, for a salad or hearty sandwich with delish fries or
veggies and reasonable glass of wine -we will come back again and again.
This experience was not a great one. The filet was tough and didn't even taste like one. The brussels sprouts were great. The waiter didn't pay much attention to me. I had to actively seek him out. Have been here before and had a much better experience but for this time I can't give a great review. It was disappointing.
I am a total BEEF eater. Was hesitant to try the bison, but it was absolutely delicious. I would say it's a "better grade of beef" and more flavorful. I had a special bone in rib eye with an espresso crust with onion and bacon butter. The meat melted in your mouth. Perfect flavors and perfectly cooked!
Loved the ambiance, warm and welcoming. I brought my niece here for her birthday, before the theater. The menu is a tad limited, but if you like beef or bison you're in the right place. My niece had the bison short ribs - fall-off-the-bone delicious, though rich. I had the bacon-cheddar bison burger. Very nice. Our server couldn't have been more gracious and attentive. We had to send something back and choose a different dish--it wasn't an issue. I've been in the Ted's in Colorado where they grind the meat to order. I'm not sure if they do that here as well, but we had no complaints. It was a satisfying experience; I will most likely return.
Pretty and convenient place (as we came from Radio City), service was good and the food was good. BUT, I ordered the special of the day, Swordfish with roasted asparagus and it arrived cold! I notified the server, and to the restaurant's credit, they gave me another dinner swiftly and took the price of the dish ($28.) off the check without my asking. Perhaps they need more help.
Had a 6:30 reservation and we were not seated until 6:50. Gave walk-in group of 4 (that was waiting at the bar) a table before us (even though we had a reservation). We waited over an hour for 2 burgers and 2 kids meals. Issue was not with waitress but with kitchen timing (2 large tables sat/ordered right before us). Waitress bought us a drink (after my suggestion). Food was very good - bison burger with horseradish sauce was delish!
This is a typical chain restaurant, but I appreciated the fact that they recognized our reservation and seated us after only a short wait. The menu contained nothing extraordinary but was the typical chain steak house. My filet was delicious with roasted asparagus. My two guests enjoyed their meals.
Made reservations and took my step daughter and her family (husband and two boys); taken to our table in less than five minutes; we have eaten at other Ted's Montana Grills and the food was consistent and good; kids menu is ideal; adult menu is challenging in the fact that there are so many good choices.....beverages were done right. Good atmosphere for families...just really like the restaurant and the service.
I wWent to this restaurant with my family before going to an evening Broadway show. We made an early reservation using Open Table, and we did not have to wait to get our table. The food was excellent. The steaks were delicious and not over priced. My one son had a bison bacon burger that he thoroughly enjoyed. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and constantly filled our water glasses when needed without being asked. I look forward to going to this restaurant again. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My fiance and I really enjoyed the food and the setting here, we had our own large booth that was romantic and cozy. I almost felt like I wasn't in the city because we had so much of our own space. The food was delicious and the drinks were even better. The service was not that good but we did not mind as the food made up for it. The noise level was not great either as we were sitting very closely to a family with kids that were making a lot of noise and taking pictures.
