Ted's Montana Grill - NYC Ratings and Reviews
Service was weird and the servers were discombobulated. They brought out 1 persons entree when everyone else got their appetizers, the bison steak was great though, all the other food was quite ordinary.
Location to radio city is the best though so I can't say I won't go back. It's probably the go to place if you're seeing a show at radio city.
Everyone in my party of 6 was pleased with their meal (including our gluten-free daughter). The wait staff was helpful in describing menu items and efficient in serving. The pre-theater menu was an excellent value. Portions are large, and salad was very fresh.
I love a good burger and never heard of this place until now! Also never had a bison burger but was pleasantly surprised - very good! The burgers were well seasoned and the fries were delish! The host and wait staff were great and very attentive - the waitress came back at just the right times to check on us and refill our drinks.
Would definitely come back again!
I love this restaurant. The waitstaff is attentive but not overwhelming. In the many times I've been there, I've never felt rushed. It's a great steak/burger restaurant and although I don't eat meat, their salads are kickin' and they take changes to your selections.
Location in the Time Life Building, which is being renovated, was hidden behind scaffolding and plywood screens. Probably why it was nearly empty on a Thursday evening. The positives - it was QUIET inside (except for the construction noises coming from the basement; we weren't rush out the door; and the bison burgers were top notch. The negatives - construction noise from the basement; less than attentive service.
I went for dinner with my mom, brother and cousin before a show at Radio City Music Hall. We LOVED Ted's (and the show). I got the bison steak salad, Mom got the crab cakes, my brother got a beef burger, and my cousin got a bison steak (forgot the cut). Mom and my cousin got mashed potatoes and we got a side of broccoli that everyone enjoyed. And we got the wildberry cheesecake to share. Everything was superb -- flavorful, tender, not too salty. Jumbo lump crab cakes. Our server was terrific from start to finish. The place was packed -- it was a Saturday evening -- and she was never frazzled or inattentive. Great atmosphere, great food, and right by the corner of 51st and 6th Ave, so very close to Radio City. We look forward to going back!!
We had a 6pm reservation, to give us plenty of time to get to Lincoln Center by 7:30. But at 6:45 I had to flag down a hostess, because we had yet to be served our meals. When she eventually brought the food we had only 15 minutes to (incompletely) inhale it--and couldn't finish it. VERY annoying.
I enjoy eating at Ted's Montana Grill. Although they've removed the Blue Sky Salad (I think that's the name) from the menu, I was still able to get it with a salmon fillet added. Their fries are on point as well. People enjoy Ted's because of the game they serve, particularly their bison. They have good mini-burgers (sliders). My friend and I typically go there when we desire their Strawberry Shortcake, which is the LARGEST version of the dessert I have EVER seen. It is always good, but make sure the biscuit is thoroughly cooked. A doughy biscuit is unacceptable. I did not give it a total of five stars tonight because it took us much longer to get our food than normal (and there was not a large crowd for a Saturday evening). Also, the avocado on my salad was brown. Quinn is a solid server, so the four stars was for the delay in the food and not her service.
I love their steaks and crab cakes are amazing. Service isn't that great. Waitress was friendly but didn't check in much. When I was seated by hostess it took awhile before waitress came to table to take my drink order. I was also searching for waitress when it came time to pay the check. The hostess tracked her down and she apologized for being in back so much as she was training a new server. I will definitely be back but hope service improves.
full disclosure. i worked here during their opening almost 11 years ago.
burgers were as good as i remembered, and the reason why we came. i definitely can recommend the sandwiches, but i was not really a fan of the remainder of the menu items. burgers are pricey, but common for the neighborhood.
very quiet on a pre-theater Sunday afternoon. Food was served in a timely manner and hot! Full plates, and our server Arielle allowed my friend to make a substitution to get what she was in the mood for.
Arielle was spot on with her service and fulfilled our needs/expectations.
We waited over an hour for our meal. The waitress never came over to even acknowledge the wait. Both tables around us came after we sat and were served before us. We had to flag the waitress down to ask for a status on our food. She kept walking to the other tables and avoiding us. After the food came she didn't check in during the Meal to make sure we had what we needed. While she apologized when dropping the check for the wait the emanate was done. There was a lot of open tables and clearly they lost our ticket. No one should wait an hour and a quarter for food at a business lunch.
