Ted's Montana Grill - NYC Ratings and Reviews
We went here prior to a show at Radio City hall. The service was friendly, the ambiance was very warm and inviting. Although the menu is not extensive, there is something for anyone with a range of burgers to steaks (either beef or bison). Everyone enjoyed their meals, even those who ordered fish. The only thing I would steer away from (pun intended) are the side dishes if you can help it. They are likely delicious but at $7 for 2 pieces of broccoli I feel they are overpriced. But what made up for that was the Apple Crisp dessert which was absolutely incredible!
Food was great (steak, burger, dessert) and the waitress was nice and friendly. The only downside was the lady who showed us to our table. She was seriously grumpy and seemed she really didn’t want to be working there. Does the management know? This was late afternoon on last Friday.
On our way to Radio City Christmas Spectacular, I searched for a nearby resident knowing that the weather would be frigid and I didn't want to walk around hoping to find a restaurant for my family. I made reservations the day before at the only time that was available for 4 of us -12:15. When we arrived we were seated quickly. Our waiter quickly took our drink order and lunch order soon afterwards. He was very patient explaining some of the choices. Three of us chose beef (vs bison) burgers with fries - standard fare for this group. Each of us enjoyed the burgers very much. My granddaughter had chicken tenders. The potato "chips" on the next table looked as good as our fries tasted. The price was reasonable considering we were in NYC!
Overall, we were very satisfied. I have already recommended this restaurant to friends heading to NYC soon. We will definitely return when the weather here is above 30 degrees!!!
Booth was busted which made seating very uncomfortable. Waitress made halfhearted attempt to offer a change. Seats that broken should not be in use at all. Bar drinks were average at best save the jalapeño margarita which was very good. Food was very good and service was good.
I can’t give a good review of Ted’s Montana grill. The drinks order was bungled, and the food (which was good) took 45 mins to come out. They were busy but it was pretty poor. I ordered wine halfway through the meal which I expected to arrive quickly and it took an age, by which time half of the entrees had been eaten. I think that “disappointing” best sums up the whole experience. Which is not what you expect for a check that size.
Our group of five all loved the food and service from a shared appetizer of nachos with bison bits to great apple crisp dessert.
I ordered a veggie burger with sweet potato fries and it was super good and tasty!
Brought a friend from out of town here with her family. I live locally down the street. Always bring NYC visitors here and everyone really likes Ted's.
Ted’s was able to accommodate my family of 12...as always, the food was great, and our server, Alyssa, was absolutely fantastic!!! Ted’s is a wonderful gathering place even if it’s just my husband and I, or our large family! The food is consistently great, and everyone is very friendly.
I have been coming here for business for years and have always had a good experience but this past visit on 12/16/17 I brought my family of 8 before a Broadway show and it was a total nightmare. I won’t bore you with the details but we had to wait over an hour when we had a reservation, the three young hostesses were rude and should really take a class in customer service, when we finally sat down our food came out totally overdone. The manager was very nice and took two dinners off the bill but it was too little too late. Such a disappointment.
When your main course is a pricey bison burger and fries— both better be great Unfortunately that was not the case - average burgers (Medium cooked medium well) for the price and the fries were limp, cool and greasy (yuck).
Service was very good but the litmus test is the food and that did not do it
We were thrilled to be seated right away in a corner booth per my request on the OpenTable reservation. Good thing too, because it was packed. Ted's is only half a block from Radio City so it is a perfect location after the Rockettes on a cold December evening. There is a children's menu and the burgers are always good. The service was a little slow, but they were super busy. We come here every year after the show and are always satisfied as a family.
We went for a late lunch. We both had the bison cheeseburger with fresh cut fries. The burgers were juicy and cooked as ordered. The fresh cut fries were hot and plentiful. Had three beers and a Diet Coke. Bill was $69. We had a wonderful experience and definitely will return.
My burger and the steaks were very good; fries uneven but tasty. Roasted broccoli tasty but presentation meh. My huckleberry margarita very good, friend's mojito also.
I don't know if it was because a busy holiday Sunday, with res at 7, but service was not great. Drinks took forever, waitress nice but indifferent, and grand finale was waiting for the apple crisp coming to the table without ice cream and a sorry after the fact that they were out of everything. And instead of just saying I'll take it off the bill and leaving it we were asked well do you want it.
Decided on this as it was near Radio City after the Christmas show, and a little later on a Sunday. I understand about the holiday and the amount of people coming through, but there's no excuse for not letting us know in advance that they were out of something we were we ordered and then having it come to the table.
Glad we tried, will probably not go back.
We arrived and it took over 10 min to get our server. We saw someone next to us get seated later and their server arrived promptly. Of course, then, they got their food faster than we did, in spite of arriving later.
The server was slow in refreshing our coffee, we typically had to ask - with empty cups.
At the end, she must have been on break, as it took an inordinate amount of time to get our check.
She was a very pleasant person, but server skills need work.
We went to Ted's after the Christmas show at Radio City. Sat right down and orders taken promptly. The restaurant filled up quickly and despite the crowd we were served promptly. The food was great and bill reasonable. The staff did a great job despite the crowd. I would go there again. Try the ribeye steak , it was delicious.
Had reservation and seated immediately ( only one other table filled when we arrived) then the wait began for water, order to be taken and then for food - an hour to get food. Needed to be at Christmas show so when food arrived we gobbled. But that said , our waiter tried and food was good. Granddaughter ate the kids salmon which she loved. My salad was scrumptious and the others enjoyed their burgers including the bison. Place was packed upon our departure. Will definitely try again.
