About Ted's Bulletin - Reston

Ted's Bulletin is a real American classic joint with a bit of style - complete with savory homemade food and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. The fare, though unabashedly familiar, is just like mom used to make but gussied up. Takes on grilled cheese, homemade pop tarts, meatloaf, and country fried steak are sure to please. Breakfast is served daily beginning at 7am. Guests can also check out our homemade pastry case with scrumptious pies, cakes, muffins, and other throw backs like oatmeal cream pies. Bulletin features its very own shaketender and barista, ready to whip up custom milkshakes - with or without alcohol and coffee favorites. Have a classic cocktail made the old fashioned way or your favorite sipping liquor served over one cube from the Macallan Ice Baller.

The Drew Burger is Awsome! Request it with fried banana. We were pleasantly surprised this visit that our server recommended the banana... not usually the case. With the sweet tomato chutney and peanut butter, this is a truly unique burger. This is a comfort food we’ll make a special outing for... yum.

Took friends visiting from England to this restaurant on a Friday night. Our waitress was personable and helpful in the beginning. She offered recommendations for what to eat and had knowledge of everthing on the menu. I chose the restuarant because it had a good variety and I thought would offer choices for the vegetarian in our group. In our group of four, we had one order of the hummus salad (declared quite good), the meatloaf (no complaints), a breakfast selection and fried chicken. The fried chicken was OK -- the breading was not all that crunchy, needed seasoning and the meat was not hot when it arrived. It wasn't cold, slightly more than lukewarm but it was cooked all the way through. I ordered the Ted's tarts (which was another reason for selecting the restaurant). I asked for them to be heated but they were heated too much and all the filling leaked out which left the pastry empty and rather glued together. Not bad but a little disappointing. Things were not so bad that I wouldn't go again, but not as impressive as my first visit in the DC location.

Give me the homemade poptarts every day! If you're only in DC for a short time, you've GOT to get the homemade poptart! The brunch menu is small but great options to be had! Thanks for a great morning out!

Small portion for the price paid. $6 to add chicken to a salad and you get one small thin sliced chicken breast.

Great service! Homemade tarts are fantastic. This was only my second visit, but I will continue to return until I am able to try almost everything on the menu.

Lots of fun comfort food. The waiter was attentive but not at all overbearing.
The outdoor patio is great, and there's some shielding from the passersby on the sidewalk, via various plantings.

Nice atmosphere. The waiter placed my order correctly but the chef got it wrong, so I ended up with a side of broccoli I did t order. I really didn't want to be bothered today, but at least 3 people asked me how everything was. It seems like they are really seeking feedback.

I enjoy going here for lunch or breakfast. They have a diner feel and classic American food. The adult milkshakes are always delicious. The reason no have this place 3 stars was the waitress was super annoying. She kept suggesting things for us to order while we were looking at the menu and hovered when we were ready to order yet. I've also had other service before at this location where the wait staff took forever to get us a condiment or water, etc.

Always enjoy the experience here. Food is very hearty and delicious. If portions matter they have large portions so get your stomach ready. The servers are very friendly.
They're homemade pop tarts the best! Not too sweet and perfection! A must have.
Make a reservation or arrive ahead of time as there is always a line. It's worth the wait.

This is great place for a regular meal. Good somewhat unique food items on the menu. The service was great and the restaurant was in great shape and clean. The milkshakes and deserts are one of the hidden treasures is this place.

Ted's always delivers. We were celebrating my daughter's bday and the waitress Stephanie did a nice job helping us enjoy the evening and even brought over a "bday" pop tart! Very fun night - great job.

Always enjoy the food at Ted's. It's not cheap, but it's well-made and delicious no matter what you get! The tater tots are awesome and the short rib sandwich is delicious. The breakfasts are also wonderful. So hard to decide what to eat! Can't beat the location too. Right in the heart of Reston Town Center. The service is also very good.

This is an overall nice place. I have had breakfast and dinner here. Overall the breakfast is 5 Star - cant beat the pop tarts. However, the dinners fall lower in terms of overall quality and value.

Nice old time feel with solid menu choices. Menu was full of comfort food with an all day breakfast option. I had the reuben sandwich with fries and it was a hit. I felt the portion of meat vs. sauerkraut was perfect. I could have used a little more dressing, but overall a very good sandwich. Fries were to die for. Will be back to sample more on the menu.

Arriving a few minutes before our reservation, we informed the hostess that there was a change on our reservation from 2 to 3 persons. Their response couldn't have been more gracious...however the rest of the experience left much to be desired. After ordering, our food arrived and it was mostly...in a word - terrible. One person's sloppy joe was ice cold as is seemed to be just taken out of the walk-in, as were the french fries; the chicken soup listed on the menu claimed to be the best ever but arrived as mostly tepid water with no flavor and the salad was nothing but lettuce. The third persons omelet was, and I quote, " driving all the way in from McLean, I found the omelet truly nothing special and very ho-hum". "I do not see what all the excitement and large lines of people waiting for brunch is all about". Very embarrassing as it was my choice and all were extremely disappointed.....

The food was not that great. The service was poor, as our server made a mistake on our orders. This was our first time in this restaurant and will not go back. There are at least 20 other restaurants around the area , with good food and excellent service.

Just two friends having lunch. I had a burger and my friend ordered the Reuben. Had to send my burger back because it was charred and burnt (I ordered medium). They sent back a new plate and it was ok. Not the juicy burgers I've had in the past. Friend's Reuben was also a little disappointing. Uneven sandwich. One side was dry with no kraut because it was all on the other half. Server was great and very attentive. We still enjoyed lunch.

First visit and I wasn't impressed. $15 for a salad or a sandwich - really? I got the Reuben, which was mostly bread and a skimpy portion of corned beef. There must have been about a pound of french fries along with it. If I go back, it will be to try a milkshake, which I've heard are good. But overall, not impressed; totally overpriced.

Food was good. I didn't consider that it is currently homecoming time for high schools, so we were seated next to two large groups of "homecomers." It got noisy at times, but overall it was a good first experience.

Really good: country friend steak, chili
On par: cheeseburger, pretzel bites
Didn't care for: corn and pepper side to country friend steak

I will try next time: alcoholic milk shakes and pop tarts

This is our 2nd visit to Ted's Bulletin. First was for breakfast (Merrifield) and the 2nd was for dinner (Reston Town Center). Both experiences were wonderful. Our dinner portions were very generous and the price was very reasonable. I would recommend Ted's Bulletin for families, friends, and late night eats!
