Ted's Bulletin - Merrifield
We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Whether it’s family dinner, business lunch, or just a Ted’s Tart and coffee to-go, we’re as adaptable as your life is dynamic. Our breakfast menu is available all day because we believe that the most important meal of the day can be had morning, noon or night.
Ted’s Bulletin is a haven for comfort and celebrating the things we have in common: a hunger for good food at great value, a need for a place to be comfortable being ourselves, and a desire to connect with our community. At Ted’s Bulletin, everyone has a table, and every table has a story to tell.
The cinnamon sugar pop tart was the highlight! We got breakfast for lunch- pancakes, eggs, chicken sausage, hash browns. Food and service were fine. Just nothing super special for the price outside the pop tart. I do really like the home style comfy fare served at Teds and hadn’t been in a while. The experience was just average this time.
Nice birthday dinner!
Excellent service. Delicious food. Good
Value. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
Took our young granddaughter to dinner before a play. Wanted a restaurant in the Mosaic District for its location and this one had a very nice looking kid’s menu as well as reasonable possibilities for the two adults. Our expectations were for a pleasant meal with good food. Unfortunately, that expectation was not met. Restaurant was very warm and almost to the point of true discomfort. Table had not been cleaned properly and one side was covered in a sticky substance that I assume was syrup. Even though the restaurant was largely empty it was awhile before any server could be asked to correct the situation. Granddaughter was generally pleaded with her pancake-especially the fruit face. However, the bacon was not at all crisp. The o their meals were two different versions on salmon. The Greek salad was basic and salmon cooked as asked. It was described by the diner as “ok” but not something to recommend or order again. The other was salmon paired with soba noodles. Salmon had very little flavor and a mushy texture. The noodles were very bland. Not a place we would recommend or visit again.
Hello, we apologize for the air conditioning. It is now fixed. Please contact us at jomidian@salisholdings dotcom to discuss.
Ted's didn't disappoint, but the air conditioning was broken while we were eating so it really took away from the Father's Day spirit. This wasn't addressed before/after we were seated so I asked the obvious question just to confirm. It would've been nice if something had been received on the house for eating in the intense heat (I say intense cause I'm pregnant and everything is intense in this state).
Not sure what to expect but think "upscale" diner. Breakfast all day
First off, the food was good, large servings for a good price.
Drinks were a good price, the shakes were how shakes should be - Ice Cream, Milk, Chocolate syrup - and you get the large glass and the mixing cup with the extra.
A nice place in the Mosaic - good food for families
The food is average but the wait staff are very good. I had the Ted's Cobb Salad which the server insisted was so much better with fried chicken instead of grilled. It wasn't that great so if I order it again I will go with grilled chicken instead. My friend ordered the green eggs off the breakfast menu and was pleased that she could order breakfast items for lunch. Mosaic is a nice destination and Ted's is an average place with lots of dishes from which to choose.
This location has really gone downhill. We used to eat here all the time, but they’ve changed a lot of the menu and while several of our old faves were gone we are always happy to try new things. The southern charcuterie board came with two biscuits that were rubbery hockey pucks. The pretzels and beer cheese were ok. My son liked his grilled cheese and soup but both adult entrees—salmon and the brick chicken—were devoid of taste and the chicken was downright rubbery and hard to cut. Tasted like it has been microwaved or...I don’t know, a microwave lean cuisine would have been better. The waiter was terrific and management comped the chicken and gave us two pop tarts to go to be nice, but despite that good service the food will keep us from coming back for awhile
Hello Laura, we appreciate your feedback about the food. Please contact us at jomidian@salisholdings dotcom to discuss.
Birthday was great
Great Steak Frites, French toast, and chips w/pimento cheese appetizer! The server was new so lacking a little bit but he was trying. Love this place!!
I had lunch with a few friends to celebrate a birthday and the service and the food were notable. They even brought out a pop-tart with a candle and chocolate writing on the plate. The waiter was outstanding! Definitely would go back!
Well prepared food, an interesting menu and good service.
You guys took off the sloppy Joe that was the number one seller there for a lot of people are very upset about it bring it back
Hello Nick, the Sloppy Joe will be back on the menu in two weeks.
Great spot for breakfast meeting - street parking is very easy that time of morning. Love that a carafe of coffee is left at the table so you don't have to chase anyone down.
The owners have changed and thus the menu also changed. It was really disappointing, the French onion soup had little to no flavor, the chili has become chunks of meat with watered down tomatoes. The gnocchi had a cream sauce that also had no flavor. The manager offered a new meal but at that point I was full. I said how about some pop tarts instead. He brought one. One pop tart does not make up for $15 of poor quality food, x3 people dining. I will not be back anytime soon unless it is for breakfast.
My friends had the impossible burger and I had the American burger. Both were great. Are outside so noise level not an issue. Service was not great. Waiter was also bartender so service was slow.
Good all around food for anytime of the day. Service was prompt and attentive.
Food was meh...three of us had fish and chips and the chips were cold, had been sitting before the fish got on the plate. Oreo milkshake didn't taste of Oreo and had no flavor. Should have sent the food back but we didn't have time to wait. Fourth persons burger was ok.....service was spotty. All in all not the best experience.
Hello Vicki, we appreciate your feedback about the fish & chips, Oreo Milkshake, and burger. Please contact us at jomidian@salisholdings dotcom when you have moment.
Ted's is hit or miss with some things. The food was okay, nothing to rave about. The tarts were more bread than filling, which is not always the case.
Hello, we appreciate your feedback about the Tarts. It would be helpful to learn which food items you ordered. Please reach out to us at jomidian@salisholdings dotcom when you have a moment.
We had a great experience all around at Ted's. The manager heard it was out first time, so he brought us complimentary house chips with melted cheese. I also got a complimentary Ted Tart because it was my birthday (I got the S'mores there and the Strawberry to take home, both were outstanding!) I had the thick cut French toast with was very good and everyone else got the tomato soup and grilled cheese/deluxe grilled cheese. No one at the table had any complaints and everything I tried tasted great. We also got the deviled eggs and pretzel bites as appetizers. Of course, to end the night we had to get milkshakes. We got the S'mores, Strawberry and Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. All of them were delicious. Our server, Nicholas, could not have been nicer. He was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations and was checking on us often. I would definitely recommend Ted's and I will definitely be back!
We stopped here before going to a movie at Angelika. It was easy to park in the Target garage and just walk across the street. Ted's serves up mostly comfort food, burgers and fries, milkshakes etc. but my husband also had a wonderfully unexpectedly good pasta dish.
Our waiter was skilled and attentive and we received our food quickly. We will come back.
Great service, my party was a bit late in arriving but the waiter was very attentive — always filled the ice tea, we were there for a long time but never felt rushed. The menu has many options, something for everyone
Very good food. Good pricing.
Our group of 3 sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day. Had a canned cider @ $5.00- pretty pricey for lunch 😜Ordered the charcuterie plate- ham was awesome, biscuits were awesome, pickle was weak- let’s cut up a whole pickle next time !!!! The pimento cheese was just glopped onto the board- kinda gross presentation - should have been in a little dish but taste was great. The Cobb salad was awesome except for diced tomato. The s’more pop tart was sooooo dry but they replaced it with a fresh one !!! Thank you Ted’s Bulletin- would definitely return again
We had a reservation for 10 (4 adults and 6 kids under 7) on a Saturday evening at 530. We were quickly seated, had great service and the food was delicious! Totally recommend for families!
I met a friend visiting from out of town. She ordered grilled cheese and tomato soup and a glass of wine. I order the gnocchi and an adult milkshake. The only thing we can recommend is the adult milkshake.
My gnocchi was gummy and like a salt lick. I sent it back to be remade with less salt, but it came back almost as salty. Guessing it's either the potatoes or the Parmesan. By this point, my friend was almost done with her meal so I gave up and forced the pasta down.
I spent $34 for a milkshake and inedible food, and my friend $29 for basically soup and sandwich. What a rip off. Does the "chef" actually taste the food? Will not return. Sorry I didn't go to one of the other restaurants in the Mosaic District.
We are in the process of moving from Falls Church to Florida and we are staying at he Hyatt House in Merrifield. We have tried all the local restaurants, Matchbox, Fine Foods, etc, but we saved Ted's Bulletin for last because we knew we would need some serious comfort food. We were not disappointed. The chili, the pot roast and the caesar salad were perfect, service excellent. What a special treat. We also met some interesting people sitting near us. All I can say is that--in many ways--Ted's Bulletin was exactly what we needed when we needed a cozy friendly and happy place. Don't miss it. It is a "one of a kind".
The asian salmon salad sounds good but it's quite weak actually. It seems no thought was put into it. Just dumped some lettuce on a plate with salmon and some corn. The dressing was good but this salad has nowhere to go but up or off the menu.
Hello, we appreciate your feedback about the salad. If you have a moment, it would be great to discuss your visit. Please contact us at jomidian@salisholdings dotcom
The experience was great. My girlfriend didn’t get her side salad but we totally forgot until afterwards anyway. I think if they dim the lights the atmosphere will improve drastically for dinner.
Such yummy food !
The cocktails were delicious. My gnocchi entree was gummy, tasteless, and inedible. Other entrees were more successful. Service was very good.
I had an Opentable reservation for a birthday dinner for 4 people, yet still waited about 45 mins to get seated. 15 mins after we arrived we were told they’re just waiting to clean up a table, so I thought it’s just a few more minutes of cleanup . After 10 more minutes we asked again and we were told that we can go to the bar inside because they serve the full menu. Not a good option to offer a family wanting to celebrate a birthday, isn’t it?
After a few minutes I called for the manager and told her they should have told us no seats and we could have already gotten seats at Matchbox next door even as walk-in. We were also told that they were not expecting customers to linger longer than normal. Blaming customers does not work as an excuse. After we finally got seated, the appetizer and dessert on the house were appreciated however just didn’t help much on an already frustrating evening. What this showed me was the staff and manager were not looking ahead at reservations, let alone the occasion for the reservations. We were at the same restaurant last month and so we thought of coming back for my son’s birthday. It was a bad idea after all that I had to apologize to my son, thankfully he was really patient.
Holly, our server, was very pleasant so she at least gave us her best to give us a good experience.
The management ahould revisit their quality of service, since there are far better restaurants next door and nearby with better service and food.
First time at this location but the experience was as enjoyable as my prior visit to the 14th Street location. The service was good and the food inventive and tasty. The signature pop tarts really are a treat.
I prefer to have my food served warmer. The food was good but barely warm and almost cold. The restaurant was not busy. Just a few patrons.
Great team table waiting! Super fast service. Highly recommend the pretzel balls and cheese sauce.
I got the classic - deluxe grilled cheese and tomato soup - and had such a delightful time with some friends as we enjoyed yummy, generous portions and the old-time charm of the decor (the TV playing Andy Griffith reruns was a great touch!).
I remember when this was the hot place to go for awhile. Boy how times have changed. Friendly but completely inept server and food that had no taste whatsoever. My kid's milkshake was good, but the rest was marginal at best.

Gear for kids anytime of the day!!
Birthday was fantastic!
The service was truly outstanding. The food was excellent. The prices were reasonable. We are definitely coming back!
