Ted's Bulletin - Merrifield
We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Whether it’s family dinner, business lunch, or just a Ted’s Tart and coffee to-go, we’re as adaptable as your life is dynamic. Our breakfast menu is available all day because we believe that the most important meal of the day can be had morning, noon or night.
Ted’s Bulletin is a haven for comfort and celebrating the things we have in common: a hunger for good food at great value, a need for a place to be comfortable being ourselves, and a desire to connect with our community. At Ted’s Bulletin, everyone has a table, and every table has a story to tell.
We are in the process of moving from Falls Church to Florida and we are staying at he Hyatt House in Merrifield. We have tried all the local restaurants, Matchbox, Fine Foods, etc, but we saved Ted's Bulletin for last because we knew we would need some serious comfort food. We were not disappointed. The chili, the pot roast and the caesar salad were perfect, service excellent. What a special treat. We also met some interesting people sitting near us. All I can say is that--in many ways--Ted's Bulletin was exactly what we needed when we needed a cozy friendly and happy place. Don't miss it. It is a "one of a kind".
The asian salmon salad sounds good but it's quite weak actually. It seems no thought was put into it. Just dumped some lettuce on a plate with salmon and some corn. The dressing was good but this salad has nowhere to go but up or off the menu.
Hello, we appreciate your feedback about the salad. If you have a moment, it would be great to discuss your visit. Please contact us at jomidian@salisholdings dotcom
The experience was great. My girlfriend didn’t get her side salad but we totally forgot until afterwards anyway. I think if they dim the lights the atmosphere will improve drastically for dinner.
The cocktails were delicious. My gnocchi entree was gummy, tasteless, and inedible. Other entrees were more successful. Service was very good.
Such yummy food !
I had an Opentable reservation for a birthday dinner for 4 people, yet still waited about 45 mins to get seated. 15 mins after we arrived we were told they’re just waiting to clean up a table, so I thought it’s just a few more minutes of cleanup . After 10 more minutes we asked again and we were told that we can go to the bar inside because they serve the full menu. Not a good option to offer a family wanting to celebrate a birthday, isn’t it?
After a few minutes I called for the manager and told her they should have told us no seats and we could have already gotten seats at Matchbox next door even as walk-in. We were also told that they were not expecting customers to linger longer than normal. Blaming customers does not work as an excuse. After we finally got seated, the appetizer and dessert on the house were appreciated however just didn’t help much on an already frustrating evening. What this showed me was the staff and manager were not looking ahead at reservations, let alone the occasion for the reservations. We were at the same restaurant last month and so we thought of coming back for my son’s birthday. It was a bad idea after all that I had to apologize to my son, thankfully he was really patient.
Holly, our server, was very pleasant so she at least gave us her best to give us a good experience.
The management ahould revisit their quality of service, since there are far better restaurants next door and nearby with better service and food.
First time at this location but the experience was as enjoyable as my prior visit to the 14th Street location. The service was good and the food inventive and tasty. The signature pop tarts really are a treat.
I prefer to have my food served warmer. The food was good but barely warm and almost cold. The restaurant was not busy. Just a few patrons.
Great team table waiting! Super fast service. Highly recommend the pretzel balls and cheese sauce.
I got the classic - deluxe grilled cheese and tomato soup - and had such a delightful time with some friends as we enjoyed yummy, generous portions and the old-time charm of the decor (the TV playing Andy Griffith reruns was a great touch!).
I remember when this was the hot place to go for awhile. Boy how times have changed. Friendly but completely inept server and food that had no taste whatsoever. My kid's milkshake was good, but the rest was marginal at best.

Gear for kids anytime of the day!!
Birthday was fantastic!
The service was truly outstanding. The food was excellent. The prices were reasonable. We are definitely coming back!
Overall a very nice restaurant. The food was quite good, but the portions were huge. The service was all very good and all the wait staff very helpful and friendly.
We had a large party and from the front entrance to the attentive server, all the service was excellent! On a busy weekend night, this is hard to find. Then the food was excellent and served quickly. Great experience! Thanks Ted's 👍
This place was difficult to get to; parked in parking garage blocks away. Overpriced, lack luster food for the money.
Hello Dave, we appreciate your feedback. Please contact us at jomidian@salisholdings dotcom to discuss.
We had reservations on a Saturday evening. The place was busy but we were seated on time. The service was excellent. The food was cooked to our liking. However, I think what we had was a little overpriced. I will recommend to friends and we will go back in the future.
Food was mediocre which is a change from the last times I cam here.
Dinner for 15 girls; service was excellent...it just took us about 25 minutes to be seated.
Granted, the girls talked the entire time, but it was a bit of a wait to get started with the food.
Waitress was EXCELLENT.
Came for breakfast with a friend - she'd not been to breakfast before here! Service was very friendly and pleasant and food was delicious as always - including the gigantic capuccino! looking forward to a return breakfast soon.
I love Ted's Bulletin. The breakfast is delicious and I generally meet friends or family there every weekend. The restaurant is a great place to get together with a group and catch up. The team at Ted's really make the experience. They are fantastic.
On my last visit, I branched out and tried a few new dinner options and was a bit disappointed. I tried the fried cauliflower and steak and fries. Everything was just ok and a little on the bland side. I love Ted's breakfast and sandwiches and was a bit disappointed with the meal in comparison.
Everything and everyone was amazing! My new favorite Ted’s.
We love Ted's and took a friend here for the first time for his birthday. In my reservation note, I noted that but nothing was done to celebrate his birthday no candle etc.
The onion soup was very salty and the fish sandwich not up to the normal Ted's Standard. everything else was very good.
Mexican Street Salad seemed small. Service was pretty slow, especially considering the restaurant was not crowded at all.
Went for lunch with friend who had only been for dinner - we both decided on BLTs but with regular tomatoes and regular mayo - server very accommodating and the sandwiches were just delicious - although I missed having my tomato soup! We shared a pop tart (apple pie) and it was warm and inviting - really loved lunch and looking forward to bringing my friend for breakfast next!
Kitchen repeatedly (e.g. more than once) got both our orders wrong. Could be because the entire kitchen staff seemed to be having some kind of raucous gathering during our meal.
Good food poor service.. we’ve been many times and this server was terrible. She had zero personality and we could tell she wasn’t happy there. Luckily the food brings us back.
I spent over $20 on a "deluxe" grilled cheese with soup that I honestly could have made myself... Probably better, too.
I don't like walking in to a restaurant and smelling dirty water in the air. You know that smell that makes you assume the cleaning crew used the same bucked of dirty water to clean the entire floor in the restaurant and haven't cleaned the mop in a month? It's a big turn off.
Ted's Bulletin was a great way to start out 2019 with friends!
The food (Salmon on Green Salad) was excellent... the Server was terrific and worked with us on some minor substitutes for our meal (adding bacon :-)) and substituting the Avocado Vinegar... We were all very pleased and will definitely return for the SAME Lunch !
always good. food is well prepared and not overly spiced. good value large portions.
Good mood and venue in the over built Mosaic area of Merrifield, VA. Parking is adequate in the garages but it can be a hike to the restaurant.
Everything we wanted, but had not fully expected to get. Whole party had very good meals. Drinks were good, too, but should stock olives stuffed with blue cheese at the bar.
Great service! I also loved the strawberry - banana malt. I will definitely be back!
Took care of us with Celiac Disease, but there could be more variety and something besides shakes for dessert. We were celebrating our friends 50th (which I made clear on my reservation, confirmed in person) and waiter said they’d bring one of their homemade pop tarts to celebrate. Birthday girl ordered awesome chocolate cake, but they didn’t put a candle in it or sing or bring the pop tart. Nothing special at all. They said the cake was amazing, but they could have done something special.
Great choice, love having the option of having breakfast at any time. My friend had the burrito and she loved it, made perfectly. I had the steak salad, delicious!
It was a very basic but enjoyable lunch. I believe the prices are rather high for a lunch salad with no bread provided at all during the meal.
The tater tots are out of this world. They're more like tiny, cubed hash browns, with just the perfect level of salt that you don't even need any condiment to enjoy them. Three of us shared them as an appetizer and were blown away.
This was my third visit to Ted's, which is why the biggest impression was left by the tots; I was already familiar with the welcoming atmosphere and old school vibe. We enjoyed our bellinis and brunch entrees as well, and service was great.
