Amazing food and service, the dj was great during brunch. Loved the atmosphere
One of my new fav brunch spots.
This was our first time there....first of many to come. Great vibe, excellent food and outstanding service!
Enjoyed a delicious meal outside on the patio. Attentive service. Varied menu. Portions sized to share and try many things.
Great location and service.
Unfocused menu and theme. Service not great considering not crowded Sunday night. Actual food pretty good overall.
The brunch menu is a probably one of the best values in DC because the majority of the items are really good. The mimosas are average. Our server was attentive to details. We were a party of two, but we were able to sit in a large and comfortable booth. The live DJ was a great touch that made the ambiance unique. No doubt I'll be coming back.
The broccoli Caesar was fantastic. So different and so much healthier than a normal Caesar. I added chicken and for $5 they piled the chicken on!!!
Teddy and The Bully Bar was excellent as usual. We shared cornbread and oysters for an appetizer and had the short rib and scallops for entrees; all excellent. Service was superb! I ordered the irish coffee for dessert and was delighted that it arrived with freshly whipped cream on top.
Sunday Brunch not leisurely. We had a large party of 12 and the seating was great, the drink service was great. However the food coming out in "waves" felt like pigs being fed at the troff. The food came out to fast, some of it got cold before we could get to hit. Picking up the dirty dishes was not fast enough so the table was overloaded with dishes. I had to gather the used dishes myself and hand them to the waiter several times. This was my third visit to the restaurant and I much prefer each person ordering what they want and having a more leisurely dining experience. We felt rushed and overwhelmed with the food coming in waves. It's a great, fun place and we had a good time, we will be back, but we will insist that each person order and that the food come out in a leisurely manner.
The food was fabulous- our second visit for brunch. It tasted great.
Server was lacking in attentiveness and personality. Took far too ling to come check on us - and while it was busy for Fathers Day there were still empty tables so no excuse there. We love the decor and general setting. There was a DJ by the bar and the musicwas TOO loud. We should not have had to speak up so much across the table at Brunch. Unfortunately the loud music and long waits between items coming to the table made for a less than 5 star rating which I would gave the first visit which is why we returned with new guests. I know they were not nearly as impressed with the whole experience as we had been on our first visit and that is unfortunate because they may not ever come back.
We will go back but not on a holiday or in the summer months. (My husband noted a “now hiring” sign when leaving which may explain why our waitress was either insufficiently trained or overwhelmed with too many tables. MAYBE)
I still HIGHLY recommend for the great Brunch food.
Service was so slow that we just got up and went to the brunch stations so we could eat. When the waiter finally came we told him that's what we'd decided to order and asked for an a la carte side order, which never came. We had to find the manager to get our check at the end. It was Father's day, but the service incredibly slow so the overall experience was sub par.
Great place, good brunch deal with great servers.
What a wonderful Sunday Brunch spot!! Great food, nice variety of dishes, wonderful service, and great music!
The place was empty and service was very slow and scattered. Entrees were not delivered at the same time and more than 5-10 minutes apart. Very embarrassing taking a group there and the experience not top notch. Appetizers were very good.
Definitely will come here for brunch again. It's a great vibe!
It was super ultra lit! Good food good drinks and basically a day party.
Teddy and the Bully Bar
For great food & service, and some American History, you can't beat Teddy and the
Bully Bar. The entire facility is open and welcoming. The food exceeded our high
expectations. The Southern Style Corn Bread and the Ahi Tuna appetizers are great.
The interior design, art, and creative use of period artifacts enhance the experience. The huge bar area is gorgeous. Ask for a short tour, you may get lucky. If not, be sure to walk through the bar,
paying close attention to lighting, table legs, and wall decorations. Check out both restrooms too. You won't be disappointed.
We had made a 7pm reservation, when we arrived there was almost no one in the restaurant (making us question if we wanted to stay). Our server and the host were very gracious. The menu, when taking it at face value, looks to be special and the price point reflects that. In fact, the Caesar salad that was to be made with shaved broccoli was quite common, and my daughter’s entree of lamb ribs was so fatty that it could not be eaten (it was quickly sent back and replaced by a lamb flatbread that wasn’t much better). My beef short ribs were flavorless and completely unremarkable. We won’t return and do not recommend Teddy’s.
We have been to Teddy’s before but went to HH and made reservations for dinner . We had beverages but were not charged the HH price. Selected dinner entrees and were very surprised at the appetizer size entree. My nickel sized scallops were 4 in total and my friend had THREE:(
Needless to say we were embarrassed with an out of town guest! Eat before you go!
Great service, and the pre fixe brunch is worth every dime.
Lunch was ok. Restaurant was very loud, & we were told to sit in bar area if we wanted to talk. Chicken sandwich was very tasty! Service was extremely slow, & I could not get extra ketchup for example despite requesting it. Usually, I don’t have time for 1.5-2 hour weekday lunch so would likely not return for lunch.
A fun place for a drink, a meal, and a little fun with history.
The food was really really good. Mimosas were unlimited. lol. And our server was incredible. Gabriela was a total sweetheart! Very attentive and responsive. Improved our dining experience immensely.
I highly recommend the Sunday brunch at the Teddy & The Bully Bar. It's by far the best value for money, and is best enjoyed when ravenously hungry as it embodies the "all you can eat" concept, with lots of variety from which to choose.
Entrees came cold. We sent them back.
Food took too long to arrive. Server preoccupied with other tables
Sat outside while the weather was fantastic so no opinion on the interior but our was very nice. Great service and food.
We love Teddy & The Bully Bar. We'd definitely recommend for a celebratory lunch, work Happy Hour, or special occasion dinner.
Our server Robert was super attentive and was very respectful of our conversation. We didn't feel rushed or interrupted. The food was great as well. We had the power lunch and it was a great deal with the appetizer, entree and dessert. I had the steak and it was delicious.
I took my mother to Teddy and the Bully Bar for Mother's day and I was very disappointed. The price for brunch increased and the menu was limited. The Mother's day brunch menu did not offer many choices and what was offered was not filling. I'm not sure what the owners had in mind for the Mother's day menu, but it seemed like a bait and switch to me.
We looked at the menus for prior special events and made the reservation for a large group based on what was on the menu most recently. I found the all inclusive menu to be very limited and average at best. Brunches usually feature breakfast meats— bacon, sausage or the ability to order a al carte. That wasn’t offered. It was fine but just didn’t meet my expectations.
Great experience good food great atmosphere
Great service and good food. Tyler was attentive to our requests. Great location and environment conducive to quiet or energetic meetings.
I ordered the lunch special - a risotto with asparagus and peas - and it was literally a soup. Could not eat it with a fork.
After more than 500 reservations made on open table, this was the worst service I ever experienced. This was unfortunate as the location, atmosphere and food was good. Not sure if I would ever go back.
I would recommend, but with caveats. We totally enjoyed our lunches; they were a bit on the pricey side, but we weren't surprised with the downtown location. The risottos were delicious, if a bit skimpy on the crabmeat. Something about the ambience is a bit off, we felt. It feels cold, not as inviting as it might be.
Everything was perfect
