Teddy & The Bully Bar
Great service and food! Definitely will be back
We arrived and were seated right away. Our waiters were friendly. They served us bread and our water glasses were always full. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The Waite staff changed a couple of times during our dining experience so we weren’t sure who to order from at one point but we were able to order quickly in spite of the changes. The drinks were also described accurately and were good. My food was a little cold, but very flavorful and filling. I had the short rib dish, highly recommended. Overall a good dining experience.
They had a set Valentine’s Day menu and just a few things from the regular menu to pick from. Felt as if they didn’t make the food to order but had pre-made dishes sitting under lamps since people could only pick from the preset menu.
Most of the food came out either lukewarm or cold.
Great flavors in apps. Love the shrimp scampi flatbread, mushroom toast, Arancini. Fried cauliflower was just so-so. There were some large gaps in service but the food was tasty.
Power lunch was fabulous. Great food, really good value.
Fantastic service ( Wally) was very attentive and his recommendations were spot on!! Our first visit and we we’re extremely happy with the happy hour prices and menu. We also ordered from the main menu and was so satisfied within the choices.
Brussels sprouts were the best we ever had. Bronzino and shirt ribs were melting on our tongues, delicate flavors and delicious with our wine pairings.
Salads were a yummy treat as well.
The ambience was truly nice with the great Teddy Roosevelt decor and peaceful to have great conversations.
Good service and food. Great for entertaining clients.
I got the unlimited brunch; food and mimosas were great. The waiter was on time with everything and the atmosphere was just right.
The restaurant itself was fine. The concept of the Bloody Mary bar is great, but it’s a pain to go make one and figure out hot sauces, condiments, etc. Maybe I was just feeling lazy? The food was okay, but I lot of it I did not enjoy — who puts syrup on biscuits and gravy (and that was not mentioned in the menu) — but the waffles and fresh fruit was really nice. Overall, I wasn’t overly impressed with the food and for the price, there are much better brunch places.
Cool setting and food was good, but waiter seemed like he wanted to rush us out of there from start to finish, even though the place was half empty.
This was my second time at Teddy & The Bully Bar and my guests that had never been thanked me for choosing such a great place. The food and the service was amazing. Usually with a party of 10 the server is overwhelmed but our server was great! I'll definitely be going back.
Great Sunday brunch
The short rib was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Great food and service. First time there but would definitely go back.
I am a frequent guest of this restaurant. Usually, the food is excellent. On Friday, I ordered a Cobb Salad. It was too salty. I was not able to finish it. This was my first unsatisfactory experience with their food. You asked and so I am responding. Great restaurant normally. I will continue going to Teddy's and undoubtedly I will have more good food at this nice restaurant.
Very nice restaurant but get ready about you’ll not get what you pay for. I’ve been there for bar it was great but not impressed about lunch.
Food tasted good, though the portions were small. There seemed to be an issue in the kitchen the day we went. One member ordered the benedict and at first the plate put in front of him just had an english muffin and pulled pork, no eggs or hollandaise. Another server came by and took it quietly from the table without explanation. Another member in our party ordered the same dish and the plate put in front of him looked different. At some point another person came by with a duplicate order of my dish, and when nobody claimed it he left it on the counter behind us. Our food wasn't served at the same time, so the first person who got their plate ended up waiting about 20 minutes before everyone else's food showed up. Our server wasn't exactly rude, but she also wasn't friendly and definitely didn't seem happy at all.
IT IS A VERY NICE PLACE. I TOOK MY DAUGHTER BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS A KID FRIENDLY PLACE MORE OF A DATE NIGHT OR GIRLS NIGHT (OR GUYS NIGHT) TYPE OF PLACE. BUT VERY GOOD.
I would recommend cocktails and appetizers but I’m not sure I would recommend a sit down meal here. I went during restaurant week and I felt that compared to other higher end American fare, in DC, the food fell rather flat. Salmon tartare was bland and the lobster dish was overly seasoned. The creme brûlée seemed overly chilled and didn’t seem very fresh. The cocktails were wonderful and the staff was very friendly. The overall ambience is relaxing and modern. I would be willing to go again when restaurant week wasn’t happening to see if there’s a difference in the quality of the food.
Second time I've been here. Love the appetizers and sides (brussel sprouts, sweet potato grits, fried cauliflower- all delish). Some of the main courses were hit/miss. The branzino was a little dry and small, but it was restaurant week, so who knows... I love the ambiance and decor. Fun, festive, very cool, not too loud.
Great restaurant week meal. Quick with good!
The food was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. Couldn’t ask for a better lunch date place!
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every part of the dish was delicious. The appetizers were also terrific. Very nice flavors and well executed.
Randal made my birthday lunch one of the best restaurant experiences that I've had in the DC metro area in 12 years. He served my friend and I with excellent service and a smile. He sang happy birthday to me and I turned red and laughed with joy. The food was delicious. This was my second time at Teddy's and I loved it! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
I meet an old friend for lunch and was so glad that we chose Teddy’s.
We enjoyed the food and great customer service while catching up on eleven years.
We agreed to meet at Teddy’s again soon.
Great menu - Great staff - Very accomodating. Its a noisy, hectic lunch spot and the majority of seating is very close together. Don't plan on too much privacy or business conversation unless you call ahead.
Thid place is good for informal lunch. Menu is pub-like. Service very friendly and good. Tables are well spaced apart which is unusual and a plus for conversation
Great restaurant week choice!
Food tasted great , however main courses came out very quickly after appetizers. Tables were small so not enough room for the food.
The cornbread was outstanding, and they surprised us with an extra to take home!
I went for my birthday and they couldn't have taken better care of my group and myself! Plus the food and the cocktails were 10/10. I can't wait to go back!
The New Year’s Pajama Brunch was a blast! Great food and festive atmosphere!
Excellent service and ambiance! Food could use a bit more seasoning though.
Really fun and delicious New Years Eve set menu. Decorations were festive and food was fantastic. Expensive but worth it. We had the $70 prix fix menu, although others seemed to be able to order off menu. We went pretty early, but i bet it was rocking later because a DJ was setting up.
Excellent service. Very nice ambiance
Good food. Enjoyable evening
Enjoyed Christmas dinner go 10. Carving station great and also sides selection. Everyone liked the food
While we enjoyed our meal Teddy and The Bully Bar our expectations were not met. Both the website describing the Christmas meal and the confirmation I received explicitly said Prime Rib would be on the carving station. However when we arrived it was not. This was very disappointing as we love to celebrate Christmas with Prime Rib. We were seated in the front room which was not very festive and would have preferred the back room. That said the food that was served was very good.
Came for Christmas Day brunch with a 2 month old. Staff was extremely accommodating, food and service was also amazing! Definitely recommend!
