Pre-theater meal with my wife and daughter. Tasty food and warm attentive service. Great hot and cold small plates. I would normally call the place a bit pricey but given the location it is understandable.
Very small portions, but delicious
A little loud
I have wanted to try Teak for some time now, and my first time was not disappointing. Everyone enjoyed their meal, the short rib was especially delicious. It was quite noisy when we arrived, but it seems that was coming from a private event upstairs, noise level in the restaurant was a little high, but not enough to keep me from returning!
I usually stay away from "Pan Asian" and would rather dig deep in a single cuisine at a meal. And if you're looking for authentic, this isn't the place. But the food will not disappointed, vibrant flavor and presentation. When our party of three decided to make a meal of small plates, they accommodated our request (at the expected additional cost, of course, no problem) to increase the portions on one or to plates that were just two servings. Next time I visit my friends in Red Bank, I'll go back.
As always the food was great! The waiter we had was someone we’ve had before, a wonderful young man. We love Teak, our favorite place!
Went to Teak prior to a show at Count Basie theater. Waited several minutes for anyone to come over to table. Finally when server came to table with her trainee I informed server I had theater tickets and an 8 pm curtain across the street at the theater. I ordered and waited and waited. I kept her informed about the timing. The apps came out quickly. But, the sushi rolls took forever. I kept asking the server about the rolls and she politely acknowledged me but the sushi took forever. I want to add the food was fabulous and if I wasn’t worried about getting out on time it would have been amazing. So allow yourself sometime.
I really enjoyed my time at Teak. It was my first time dining there. I sat at the bar while waiting for my reservation time. I did indulge in their happy hour specials in which I am still thinking about the French Onion Soup Dumplings (they were out of this world!). At the time of being seated, I was so happy that I initially made reservations, couples that walked in were told an hour wait :( I was seated immediately. The sushi had wonderful combinations, I even tried the black rice which was tasty as well. Our waiter was great and even convinced us to give dessert a try. Wonderful experience from beginning to end.
Weeknight dinner with friends before Dirty Dancing show at Count Basie Theatre... very accommodating knowing we needed to be at an 8 o’clock show... great location for before or after show drinks...food was good and I will go back when I am not on a tight schedule... I would have loved dessert!
This restaurant is awesome
Great food, a variety of classics and different things
Service was good and a great bar upstairs for after dinner drinks and dancing
Third time eating at Teak - never disppoints! Delicious appetizer entree and dessert! We eat at Teak whenever we have tickets to Count Basie. Always make the show in plenty of time.
I met with three of my friends and we started off with the rock shrimp... AMAZING. Very nice size for the shrimp and not too fried. We also got the tartare as an appetizer and I could've had it for a meal it was that delicious. The fish was very fresh and had a nice citrusy taste to it- some bites had a little kick to it. For my meal I ordered a roll and again it was very fresh and delicious.
Our waitress was great and got everything right. Only complaint was she was a little slow on second round of drinks
Seated at small table jammed against wall. They were out of my favorite appetizer. Usually very pleased, but this time, not so much. I'll still be back, however. Sushi is extraordinary.
Food just ok, but the waitress would not take just our appetizer order because “they can’t slow the kitchen down”. Nice enough kid - I am sure she was doing what she was told. We eat out 7 nights a week in Red Bank, we won’t be going back to Teak. Food is ok, place has a decent vibe but, if I am paying premium, I expect premium- I will order as I see fit!
Our Food was very good ut our Calamari Salad was very salty. Other then that it was great
Interesting and varied menu and cuisine. Great wine selection, attentive service; worth another visit even on a regular basis. Menu offers choices at varied price points to satisfy budgets too.
Great service and great food. Local beers is a plus. Teak burger was amazing.
Teak is one of my favorite restaurants in Red Bank. The menu is varied and has something for everyone from sushi fans to steak lovers. We shared the “KFC” chicken wings and pork potstickers appetizers which was enough for 4 people to each have a taste. The wings were the right mix of sweet and spicy. I had the N.Y. strip steak. It was served over kale and butternut squash with blue cheese Mac and cheese as a side. Although the steak was done medium when I requested med rare, it was tender and tasty and I enjoyed it. I will definitely go back. Reservations on the weekend are highly recommended
Going back again next week.
The Calamari appetizer is a must. We sat in the Monmouth St room with the windows, almost as good as sitting outside.
We shared the salmon and rack off lamb special. Could not have enjoyed it more.
I only met a date for drinks, but they were phenomenal!
Great time with friends!
Always enjoyable ~ atmosphere, food, service. Thank you to the Teak Team!
We had a great meal, we always do. We arrived a few minutes early but we're seated immediately anyway. Our server was Raul, he was very friendly and had great suggestions.
Shishito peppers were great with the togarashi spice, lotus buns had an outstanding texture. The black Jamba sushi roll was one of the best I've had, beautiful presentation as well as being delicious. We split the short rib which was also perfect. Dessert was the lava cake, which was good, and the Kani rolls (Kati? Magi? Sweet little filo pastries with toasted caramel inside and a scoop of nutella ice cream). Drinks were also great.
We'll definitely be back and asking for Raul.
Happy Hour drinks are very reasonable and with the half price appetizers it gives you a chance to taste the assortment of the delicious choices. The upstairs bar, lounge and outdoor patio is a great place to hang out, especially when the weather starts to change towards spring/summer.
We had a great time and the food was amazing. I have celiac disease so the gluten free menu was awesome. The only complaint was we felt very rushed. Our server was sweet and friendly but I guess the table needed to be turned over. The bussers were literally hovering g over us. We were meeting friends halfway between our homes. We had no idea people were celebrating Valentines Day so for it it was a night out. We won’t make that mistake again. We will be back...maybe on a weeknight!
Perfect for a birthday celebration. Very attentive and helpful staff. The food was very good. Some of the small plates were a bit overly spicy for my taste, but others enjoyed them.
Waitress was great
Food was really good
Service was slow. Our appetizers took almost 45 minutes to come to the table and the special appetizer arrived about 10 minutes later. We all had sushi specials for dinner and that took about 20 minutes to come out after we asked for it since we had show tickets at the Basie theatre. We had to ask for check twice before we finally received it. We were there for 90 minutes. If we didn't have tickets we wouldn't have minded the time frame but don't go there if you're pressed for time.
Had dinner at Teak on Sat. night. It was not as good as it used to be. The Pad Thai was different, and I did not like it very much. It seems a though they added some kind of spice that disagreed with me. My husband ordered the short ribs, and although I thought it was very tasty, he thought it was over cooked. Will not rush back there, too much competition. Also, it is quite expensive. Not worth the money.
Not very creative Asian food. Spicy rock shrimp too breaded. Thai chicken lettuce cups utterly without flavor--no ginger, no garlic, no scallion (and with some very un-Thai mayonnaise-like sauce). Pot-stickers also flavorless and not browned enough. Pad Thai way too sweet. It's convenient for the movie theater, and that's why we go, not for the food. It was quiet this night, because we were early, but it can be very noisy at times. The wait staff has not been trained to leave plates on the table until all the diners in the group are finished--very rude to the people still eating to have all the other dishes cleared.
Very good in every way
Excellent food and service
The food and drinks were great. I had tk Voo Doo roll, a definite must have. The lounge had great prices on drinks and the music was also great.
I had the Teak Pad Thai. Absolutely delicious!!!!!!! Great food!!!
I had asked for a red sangria with light ice. Waiter comes back, puts it on the table, and said Sorry, I forgot to tell them light ice, ok?? (he was assuming I'd say no problem). I said no, I really don't like too much ice, it hurts my throat. Can I please get the drink with no ice then? He says sure, comes back with a glass with 1/2 -1/3 full sangria. I said "excuse me, can you fill the glass with the drink, please? " He said, "I'll check." Comes back, says sorry, that's all you can get, I took out the ice. OH MY GOODNESS, REALLY??? I've been a waitress before...this guy does not understand good customer service. (Plus, I'm keenly aware that the profit margins are quite good. I've never in my life paid $26 for a shrimp pad thai. The HIGHEST I EVER PAID for that dish.) I have many family members in the restaurant business as well. You DO NOT come back with a glass only partially full, especially when customer is paying for pricey meals/drinks. So, I just said..."Forget, never mind, don't want the drink." (And the manager agreed with the waiter by the way. "Sorry that's the portion. It's all you get." )
AFTER we left the Teak restaurant, we all went together down the street to The DUBLIN HOUSE for nice cocktails/drinks !!!
The sushi was good, the steamed buns were excellent, but when the bus-girl took the appetizer plate and put the fork back on the table... I commented on it to the regular waitress ("are you running low on forks?") and she didn't understand my complaint.
The service and food were much more than I expected, not to mention the specialty cocktails!!!. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was also very nice not to be rushed through our meal. The calamari appetizer was delicious and the short ribs with vegetable lo mein was cooked to perfection. The portions were ideal for a very satisfying and enjoyable meal. Great place to go if you are seeing a show at Count Basie. We will definitely be back!
I loved this place!!!
Good food, good drink, good service.
Everything was amazing.
Excellent service and quality sushi. They were extreme fast with bringing out the course and each dish was perfected.
