Teak Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
delicious Gluten Free choices - including a nutella CHIPWHICH - yes, homemade GF chocolate chip cookies, which are delicious! Sushi and Pad Thai were great. My wife loved the French Onion 'soup' sticks and the lettuce wraps. Great place. Accommodating wait staff.
The service started off a bit slow, as waiter didn't get to our table quick enough. I was forced to go to bar to get drinks. Waiter did carry drinks from bar and was very attentive thereafter. Food is always very good. The pear martini was delicious. GREAT sushi. Not our first visit and will certainly not be our last. Convenient to Count Basie Theater.
I was disappointed. The comprehensive wine list on their website that I reviewed prior to making reservation was not what we received at the table which was much more limited and uninteresting. The noise level in the front dining room was insanely loud. I couldn't hear my husband across the table for 2 & we were there early before a concert at Count Basie. Food was okay, service was well-timed and friendly, the flan dessert was amazing. The proximity to Count Basie is great.
I made the reservations just by proximity and menu options for dinner with a friend before a concert at Count Basie. We were surprisingly very pleased with the location and the wrap around picture window view of the activity on the street! What a great place to have great food and drinks especially on a rainy or snowy day where you're inside nice and cozy and still have a great view of the outdoors. The food was very good, the drinks were great, the waiter we had was attentive and wonderful at making recommendations when we asked for them. Overall a wonderful experience and I would definitely return and recommend.
Our meal was good, but not great which is surprising since we always have a great meal at their sister restaurant The Bistro. Perhaps the staff was just a little off for a Sunday evening, but we all noticed that the service went South as the meal went on...disappointing waiting for milk for coffee and the waiter brings the check and not the milk!!
We will give it another shot if we return to an event at The Basie, but just one more try!
This was my 2nd time coming to Teak and overall it was such a pleasure to be back there! I chose to take out my mother and grandmother for their birthdays (before The Price is Right Live) to Teak because I absolutely loved the experience I had there for my birthday a few years back! The three of us were greeted by a very sweet hostess who let us pick where we wanted to sit (my grandmother has Bell's Palsy and has a hard time getting around). Our server was very nice as well and served us delicious food and drinks. The only negative things I have to say about my experience were that our server was away from the table for long periods of time multiple times throughout our meal, the food took a long time despite the fact that we were the first reservation to arrive in the dining room, and my sushi had sesame seeds on it after I told the server I am highly allergic to sesame. However, the kindness of the staff, the amazing food, the fantastic drinks, the live music, and the overall atmosphere completely made up for it. I look forward to the next time I come to Teak!
Teak is in a great location in the heart of Redbank. It's a perfect restaurant to catch dinner before a show at the Count Basie Theatre down the street. Let them know what time your show starts when you make your reservations and when you get to the restaurant so they will be sure to get you out in time. They are very accommodating to special dietary needs. Our favorites are the pad Thai and the pineapple fried rice.
We've gone to Teak a number of times. We always enjoy our meals. Food is really good - they recently modified the menu to streamline it a bit, keeping all the really terrific Asian dishes. The Edamame Dumplings are amazing, and I order them almost every time I come to Teak. They have also done some improvements to the building over the last few years, creating some nice outdoor spaces and an upstairs room. This is a Red Bank staple for us.
Excellent atmosphere and ambience...Loved music playing in background while dining. Our server was great and very accomodating. Rolls were unique and dishes were excellent. We ended up coming back for drinks and DJ and dancing. Will definitely come back often.
My BF and I were there for dinner on a Friday night. It had lovely seating outside. He had the strawberry Mojito and I had the Lychee Martini. He had the French Onion Soup Dumplings which he found to be OK. It comes served in an escargot dish, so you get 6 of them with a long toothpick and a crouton. I started with the Edamame which had a spritz of lemon or lime on top in addition to the salt. They were well-prepared and cooked just right. For the main, he had the short ribs, which is was average in terms of portion, but they were good, served with Sweet Potato puree. I had the Poke Salad and some Sashimi, both of which were quite good. All in all a decent meal.
Had a number of small plates - hot and cold.
Korean tacos with Beef short ribs, fried calamari, chicken in lettuce leaves and vegetable dumplings. All were very tasty, except chicken in lettuce. We had coconut flan and green tea creme brûlée. The flan was great, the creme brûlée - not so much. Food on other tables looked good, along with the tempting plates coming out of the kitchen. So many choices. We must go again. Service was excellent. Food arrived promptly. Restaurant is attractive. The only complaint is the high noise level.
