Teak on the Hudson Ratings and Reviews
I believe it's a great place for drinks but not so much to have a meal. Food was terrible (ordered steak, ribs and a bunch of appetizers) and some things did not taste fresh (mashed potatoes). For the price we paid, the quality of food could have been better. The service was mediocre. There were very few people inside but the waiter took a long time to come over and did not seem to be in a rush. I like the ambience and it's not my first time there but I'll stick to just having drinks there if I come back next time.
It is a very nice location. I don't need the screens for sports at the wall when I go dining sushi.
Service was great. We can recommend Tuesday evening the 1hour all-can-eat Sushi. The best sushi was the Salmon-Mango.
The table and floor could be a little bit more cleaned but all in all it was very good.
I was very disappointed because my reservations was lost but I had my email to show proof. While trying to celebrate/ dine in we was being rush to order our food we kept hearing technically the kitchen is close but we will keep it open for 10mins. We wanted to order sushi and they said since the kitchen is suppose to be close we let the sushi cook leave. Overall this wasn't a good experience at all especially if you are able to book reservations up until 9:45pm and mine was for 9:30 and they stated the kitchen close at 9:30pm
great food - terrible service. made reservation for 7 and gave us attiditue when one more person showed up. we're there for 3 hours because SUSHI a normally fast food took forever. built in tip so waiter didn't care about us. asked us if we were ready to orde and a girl asked a question and he left for ten minutes. almost didn't give us birthday dessert after we saw another table presented with it. TERRIBLE SERVICE. RUINED WHOLE EXPERIENCE.
The food was good, but a bit pricey for what you received. I would only go back on Mondays and Thursdays when they offer 50% off most food items on the menu.
The decor within the restaurant was nice, especially the large fish tank behind the bar.
Staff here is super polite and helpful. Service was good.
Brought my mom and my boyfriends mom here with our families for Mother's Day brunch. While the service was pretty good, it was very evident we were sitting down at a table that people were partying at only a few hours before. The restaurant is actually a club. The food was good however!! The only downfall was the customizable Bloody Mary cart that was fairly new. 6/7 of us ordered bloody Mary's which were way overpriced at 15 dollars and the manager who made them for us evidently didn't know how to make them. When my father asked for tobacco in his drink the manager added at least a half a cup of tobacco. Needless to say it was spicy!! The Bloody Mary cart would be done quicker and more efficiently if the basic drink were made and given to them and toppings were brought to the table and diners could choose what they want As they sit there. However overall it was a good meal. The sushi was amazing.
We went to Teak on Thursday night with another couple and were pleasantly surprised to see they offer their 50% menu on both Monday and Thursdays now. We have been there on Monday before and had a lovely time - great food, good service, and great ambiance. Thursday is way different. For some reason, management decided that it would be a great idea to place the DJ downstairs on the main dining floor during peak dining times. It was so loud that I could barely hear myself think, let alone order with the server or have a conversation with friends. At 10pm, when we were wrapping up our meal, the DJ finally moved upstairs to the "club" floor and we could converse like normal humans again. Unfortunately, our ears were already ringing and we decided to leave as soon as possible. We will not return to Teak for fear of going deaf.
Went to the this restaurant on a "day date." We were there around 12:30ish so the noise was minimal and food was fast. The restaurant itself is beautiful and clean, including restrooms which I'm really big on. The service was amazing and food delicious. I have no idea what it's like after 5pm when the evening rush would come through but I'm definitely going to go again one day! Highly recommend!
Teak on the Hudson has a great menu. It is diverse and a great bargain especially on Monday's and Thursday's ....those two nights are their customer appreciation nights...most items on the menu are half off with a few exceptions! Happy hour is till 7 and the drinks are delicious. A good place for a first date.
Our Valentine's Day dining experience (reservation was before 6:00 pm on Valentine's Day) was ruined by the Pandora station that was blasting electronic music during our dinner. The station had commercials, and the music was playing at a very high volume. I used to go to Teak for its bar and dancing scene. I didn't want that vibe during my meal. If that's something you're looking for before a night out with friends, then Teak is the spot. The dessert creme brûlée and sorbet were delicious. The appetizer course for sushi was ok.
We went for Restaurant Week and were familiar with the type of cuisine from the Red Bank location. the lobster mac and cheese and lobster spring roll were great, as were our entrees.
However, the staff propped open the door so they could bring in tables and stools for the late night crowd, which dropped the temperature 25 degrees easily with a draft for a good portion of our meal (early February, mind you). It was very uncomfortable and we could tell that all the other patrons felt the same way. The door would remain wide open for minutes at a time while nobody was even using it, and it was very frustrating to see our food go cold because of the 25 degree winds inside the building.
Our waiter was very effective helping us with our orders and the low mark for service is solely because of their lack of competence with regards to transitioning the space. Also felt like they were trying to get us out very quickly.
Food was good but very overpriced- steak and eggs $26; fruit plate $16... With being an overpriced brunch spot, service should exceed expectations, but it was the complete opposite. Our server took way too long to ask us what we wanted to drink and then forgot to bring it to us! We had to ask the host and then the manager to get our server's attention. Overall, the dinner experience is way better than
This is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Hoboken. It's festive and fun. The aquarium behind the bar is awsome. The house wine was actually very good. My boyfriend and I had 2 glasses apiece. The sushi is excellent. My boyfriend had the steak sandwich which he found tough. The waiter was wonderful very attentive and polite. We had a wonderful experience. I recommend Teak on the Hudson highly
Our waiter forgot about our food it took over an hour to receive and I had to ask for it and once it came it was cold and the waiter was not tending to our table much all night. Took long to get his attention. Drinks were ok but watered down. Myself and the group I attended Teak with were excited for our night out but it was sadly disappointing.
I really enjoyed my dinner at the restaurant. The aisle I was sitting on was on the main thoroughfare in the restaurant, so I was getting bumped a lot, but it was somewhat unavoidable with the tight seating arrangement. Food was outstanding and a really nice, fresh version of a very standard dish, Gen Tso's Chicken. Although I liked the music selection, the volume could be brought down by 50% during the dinner hour and still be heard, then back up later as the late-night crowd shows up. It was really too loud to talk comfortably. Overall, really nice evening and I'd recommend Teak to my colleagues.
Special date night with my long time boyfriend was well spent at Teaks on a Friday night. The food was amazing as ever, including the drinks. Perfect pitch of sangria kept the night vibrant as well as the music! All workers were exquisit with awesome manners. Definitely recommend Teak for anyone visiting the area!
We have dined at the Teak before and returned to try their brunch. We have enjoyed their menu, delicious food and great location. While all of these attributes are still there and our waitress was enthusiastic, she was not knowledgeable about the menu nor did we receive good service. We would not return for another brunch. The teak was quiet at brunch. In the evening it is lively.
I was disappointed in the service! It was very slow and the reason I chose this place was for my daughters 30 birthday and we did not get the sparkles with dessert! Hostess forgot to tell waiter and waiter was very slow with drinks and checking back with us during dinner and after!!!!! We usually love the place the good and atmosphere, but I was really let down that night!
We have been here before and we love the atmosphere and vibrant scene. The pink leopard roll was outstanding, we also had the jalapeño popper and spicy salmon rolls, very fresh. My daughter had the Asian skirt steak, I had the sesame chicken with the coconut rice, but very good. My wife's tuna dinner was light on the seasoning but good. Our waiter realized he had forgotten my wine, he made sure the issue was corrected. We will be back.
If you're in the mood for a good meal n great service whether is a group or party of two this is the place. My only complaint is the table for 2 is too small not enough room. Otherwise I had a wonderful time. Our server was great he new the menu and knew exactly what to recommend. I took my girlfriend here for girls night and she can't wait to return. This is my second time and had a great experience both times.
