Welcome to Tazzina, the culinary home of Chef & Owner Jazon Zukas. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, Jason's earliest food memories come from the aromatics of his Italian-American family's kitchen. Jason made some of the best restaurants in New York City his classroom, and in turn, gained a practical experience from climbing the ladder in the kitchens of some of Manhattan's most illustrious chefs. In fact, Jason was featured on the 2nd season premiere of Food Network's hit show "Chopped" where he reigned supreme and was twice crowned the winner. The following year, Jason returned to compete on "Chopped Champions" and earned 2nd place in the final competition. Today, Tazzina reflects the Old World culinary sensibility which initially inspired him, tied in with his Nouveau flair. Buon Appetito!

As usual, Chef Jason does a fabulous job. Old school Italian fare never fails to please. Tasty, cooked to perfection!

I always loved going to tazzina... food is amazing but the thing that bothers me most is the tables are so close together you can’t have a private conversation plus you hear everything the next table is talking about too.

Amazing! Everything we ordered, from appetizers to sangria, was excellent! Sad to hear they are closing & we are all hoping they find a new location very quickly! We hope to hear good news soon.....

I cannot say enough about my amazing experience at Tazzina! Chef Jason Zukas puts his heart and soul into his dishes and completely stole my heart. Hands down best restaurant in Queens, actually in New York! Thank you for the amazing night ♥️

We enjoyed the experience but had to wait 30 minutes for our table to be ready. Food was excellent but because of the late start and (reservation was for 8:30 - didn't get seated until after 9:00 - understand you can't force a table to leave) we did have some issues with the kitchen being closed (although they did re-open it after we reminded them we had to wait for the table) and we were the last people to leave. Everyone was nice and they tried to make up for the late seating. We were there 2 weeks earlier (Thursday) and had no problems with being seated. Saturday was extremely busy. Looking to go back in a week

First visit... Had a good time last night with my hubby. The restaurant is small but we were so glad to find some good food near our house. Traveling to the city from Middle Village can be tiresome. Waitress was kind and attentive. Food was fabulous! Very creative. The chef obviously has a great handle on how to mix flavors and create new dishes. We were impressesed. We had Grandmas meatballs which melted in our mouths. So good! My hubby had the pork ragu which he loved. I had the skirt steak special. I like my steak well done which not everyone knows how to pull off but these guys did. It was perfect. We also finished off with the "coffee and donughnuts" dessert which was also awesome. The espresso gelato was especially good. I would definitely return. Oh yeah, try the watermelon sangria. very good and refreshing!
